Sticking to the mid 1990s for this one so we can revisit an incredibly popular album, (What's the Story) Morning Glory? by Oasis.
Turns out it's incredibly mediocre! This one's a wild ride that ends with an unforgettable mic drop moment.

It turns out 1996 was an important year in music for us. We are back in it to revisit Fiona Apple's Tidal. Fiona's debut album made a splash, for sure, and it resonated with us as teen girls trying to come of age and gain independence under the male gaze. It's a tale as old as time, unfortunately. Lots of big feels as we talk about womanhood, sexuality and gender performance in '90s America.
And don't worry... that hair flip photo is forthcoming! :)

This one feels like an instant classic. Maybe because it's about an instant classic?
Alllllright, oh no (oooooo, ooo ooo), it's CAKE's Fashion Nugget! Tune in as we Go the Distance to investigate why we love the sass and brass. There's also trees (yes, trees) and how we survive a heavy-handed sing-along. And (it's becoming a trend), we grapple with our failing memories.
Here's that radio station interview for your extra credit.

Here's the deal, they can't all be bangers. When diving into the cd collection of a teenager, you are gonna find some that you just don't really like any longer (or never did, in Tara's case). Join us as we laugh our way through the fourth and final cd by White Zombie, the album very sillily titled "Astro-Creep: 2000 (Songs of Love, Destruction and Other Synthetic Delusions of the Electric Head)". You're Welcome.

Today we're discussing Sarah McLachlan's Fumbling Toward Ecstasy (1993) cause it turns out we really love that early '90s sound! And, we're tackling some very serious questions on this episode: Does everyone (not so) secretly love Sarah McLachlan? Is there a significant difference between sad-piano-girl music and sad-guitar-girl music? Is VH1-y an adjective?

The Pixies' second album, Doolittle, takes us back to the late 1980s for some "surrealist" surf rock. Tara and Melody attempt to reconcile how to love someone's music if they're a real-life jerk... the classic "love the art / hate the artist" conundrum. One thing's for sure: we love Kim Deal!
