This is not your 2005 Fever Pitch. We watch the 1997 Fever Pitch with Colin Firth so you don't have to. But if you're a fan of Mr. Darcy, maybe you still want to. If your a fan of Arsenal FC, maybe you still want to. We talk Firth Fros, how dumb it is to be a sports fan, even though we still are, and the differences between UK versions of things and their US counterparts. Meaning we talk about this movie and the 2005 version and the UK Office and the US Office. And we get in to hot water with some hot takes about soccer/football. Come for the banter and stay to get really mad at us, or agree with us. Either way, as long as you stay.

Sean and Brad review the 1977 classic One on One. They talk about how weird the main character is, Sean impersonates Keanu Reeves in Speed, and they talk about how awkward writing this movie with your father might have been. Also, were red hot pokers a thing in the late 70s? Cause this movie hinges on one, and it's more than a little strange.
Next episode: The original Fever Pitch from 1997
Fever Pitch (UK) is streaming on Peacock, TUBI, Crackle, Plex, and Freevee. You can also check out your local library to see if they have it.

We're back baby! It's been a while and we know you've all been missing the show, but we have been a little busy. Slow Pitch HQ moved from Montana to Kansas we've added to the descendants who will reap the whirlwind of an inheritance from us. In other words Sean had a baby. Congrats Sean! Anyway, Sean and Brad review another Out of Bounds movie. This time it's ¡Three Amigos! Instead of going into a long discussion about the importance of the plight of the 1930s Mexican peasant or the big studio strangle-hold on actors in the early days of Hollywood, Sean and Brad basically recount all of the jokes in the movie. Or is it recant? Do you want to take a walk and kiss us on the veranda?

IT'S THE FIFTIETH EPISODE!!!!! #50!!!! Sean and Brad celebrate by watching the third "Out of Bounds" title, Some Kind of Wonderful. Brad forgets the title of the movie, they rate John Hughes teen movies, and discuss thee weirdness of Howard the Duck. Oh, and they try to figure out whatthe title means. Play the soundtrack while you're playing our episode. We promise it'll sound better.

Once again we do a sports movie podcast about a movie that doesn't reeeaaalllly have any sports in it, and not on purpose. Here's a helpful tip, don't watch Snow Dogs, ever. Sean and Brad talk about Cuba Gooding, Jr being James Coburn's biological son, blue cheese, and why isn't Nana a lead dog. Listen to the podcast. Don't watch the movie.
Next episode: Some Kind of Wonderful (It's our 50th episode which also means it's an Out of Bounds episode!

In this, the saddest episode ever, Sean and Brad review the 2005 classic, Million Dollar Baby. They discuss all kinds of things that are sad. And then they talk about more sad things. But they finish it off with a laugh because Brad is dumb. Who liked it? Who didn't? Who's got holes in their socks?

Rich wha? Richmond! Sean and Brad watch the 2005 classic Coach Carter. They talk about Coach Carter saying inappropriate things to students, how many push-ups they could do in their prime, and the style of basketball uniforms over the years. Hit the books, make the grades, then win some basketball games and save some lives.

Slap on your singlet and hold on to the turnbuckles because we are going for a wild ride in this episode! Sean and Brad are joined by Keith (last name withheld) and Robbie Forrester! These guys know their wrestling and are hilarious as well. And Robbie was kinda sorta tied to the movie in a kinda sorta way! We talk about so much it's hard to put any of it down. But dookie is a part of the conversation, as well as an awkward hotel room scene, and Zeus's shaving abilities. Join us as we watch, No Holds Barred so you don't have to, but if you can you probably should.

Sean and Brad rack 'em and watch 1961's The Hustler. They get lost in Fast Eddie's eyes, marvel at Minnesota Fats stamina, and reminisce on a billiards game invented by friends in college. Are you a loser? Or are you the best that's ever played?
Next episode: No Holds Barred.
No Holds Barred is not streaming anywhere. Like not even to rent. So either your local library is going to have it or maybe you'll find it in a bin at Wal-Mart for 3.99. Unless you're Kieth Dismuke and somehow you own a digital version of it. I don't know about that kid.Support the show

Sean and Brad watch Against the Ropes so you don't have to. We talk about bad accents, bad photoshop, and the fact that the Pluto app we watched this on made the movie 30 minutes longer because of all the commercials. On too of that the movie was about 30 minutes too long. Oh, and there's a fart scene, which of course we hone in on.

Sean and Brad review the 1961 classic The Absent-Minded Professor. They talk about what flubber sounds like, what Brad's dunks, when he could dunk, looked like (hint: it looked like a white guy from 1961), and about 25 different parts of the basketball scene. Is this one of the best basketball scenes in cinema? We think it might be.

Two very special guest reviewers join the guys for this episode!

Sean and Brad review the 1957 classic Fear Strikes Out. They discuss the awkwardness of a 55 year old Karl Malden carrying a 24 year old Anthony Perkins, an skin condition pharmaceutical ad that played over and over while watching the movie, and the various jobs Sean had as a college student. We also applaud the way the movie and the actual, real-life team of the 50's Boston Red Sox handled the subject of mental disorders. And then we lament the next episode...

After a 3 month hiatus due to a broken computer, we're back! We can finally release an episode we recorded over Easter. We're glad to have our good friend Stephen Jerkins join us as we review this 1973 Disney classic. We talk about Easter call and responses, tigers dressing as sports fans, and creepy fake fingers. And of course Dorf on Golf. Also Brad sounds like a robot at times due to crappy wifi. So stay to the end to hear some funny outtakes.

Sean and Brad review 2004's Wimbledon. Sean and Brad saw this movie together in the theater, possibly on opening night. Why? Listen to the episode to find out. We also talk the Tennessee Vols March Madness results, which were 6 months ago (we record much earlier than we release, but we're catching up), Jack White experiences, and Caddyshack 2's farting horse again. Because that's more funny than anything in this movie.

Our first Elvis movie and we get into what we thought about his nipples right away! We watch Kid Galahad, the remake, and realize right away it's not up to the same caliber than the original, but did we like it better? Maybe...
Besides Elvis's nipples, we also talk about Charles Bronson's unexplained limp, the music in the film, and a bevy of strange lines. Let's all go to Cream Valley, NY (gross) and duke it out!

Sean and Brad interrupt the feed to review their second Timeout: Top Gun: Maverick. They talk about The Transformers Movie, The Black Hole, and The Karate Kid? but they also discuss the lack of stars from the first movie and how Tom Cruise is methodically killing everyone off so he can be the last man standing. The also discuss Tom Cruise's body parts. It gets weird. Just listen.

Sean and Brad don't know anything about hockey. They know nothing. Icing. What is it? They try to discuss a movie about hockey without talking about hockey at all. But at least Seann William Scott is charming and funny. But do us a favor and don't watch this movie with your parents or small children. But the movie has its moments. Blades of Steel. And wayne Gretzky. And Gordie Howe. That's all they know. Also, don't get confused between Sean Williams and Seann WilliamssssScott.
Next movie: Elvis's version of Kid Galahad (1962)

Sean and Brad review one of the best and well-known sports movies ever. Martin Scorcese, Robert DeNiro and Joe Pesci team up to make Raging Bull, a movie about Jake LaMotta, a boxer who made it all the way to the top just to lose it all just as quickly. If you think this movie, which is really heavy, didn't talk about He-Man's lesser known ally Ram-Man, or character actor Wallace Shawn's haircut, you haven't been listening. Bring me my steak!
