Deep in the wilds of Donegal, where the Derryveagh Mountains meet the Atlantic’s edge, two enigmatic groups sought refuge—each with their own radical vision of the world.
In this episode of Strap Yer Boots, we unravel the eerie legacies of The Screamers, a primal therapy cult that believed emotional freedom could only be achieved through relentless, gut-wrenching screams, and The Silver Sisterhood, a secretive order of women who wove mysticism into their writing, blurring the line between fiction and reality.
What drew them to this remote land? Were they visionaries, lost souls, or something more unsettling? And why did both groups vanish, leaving behind only whispers and unanswered questions?
Strap yer boots, because we’re heading into the misty mountains of Donegal, where the echoes of the past still linger. 🔥🎧

Join us, Laura & April, as we trace the roots of this chilling tale, from whispered stories of a hard-drinking, sharp-tongued woman accused of murder, to the terrifying accounts of her ghost appearing to lost travelers in the dead of night. We’ll explore how Petticoat Loose became a cautionary figure, doomed to roam the Irish landscape—and why her presence is still felt in the shadow of the Knockmealdowns today.
So, lace up those boots and step carefully… you never know who (or what) might be watching from the mist.
