  • Hey Friend!

What if your relationships could improve by simply shifting your focus?

This week, I went deep into the podcast vault to re-air one of my favorite episodes. Featuring insights from Bob Hughes, a seasoned marriage and family therapist, and Judy Hughes, a life coach, the episode explores how shifting from a need for specific outcomes to a focus on genuine love can transform relationships and spiritual lives.

We also delved into the challenges of meeting our emotional needs while protecting ourselves from pain. We chat about neediness in various aspects of life, such as parenting, marriage, work, and friendships. We discussed the benefits of trusting in God's love and provision and shared three simple prayers to help cultivate this trust.

This episode is full of wisdom that is guaranteed to open your eyes to your motivations in your relationships and offer real wisdom on how to become a more loving person.

  • Hey Friend!

It’s back-to-school season, which means whether we have kids or not, our attention turns to children. Sadly, we look around our culture and see throngs of kids who aren’t flourishing, they’re floundering. Anxiety. Depression. Loneliness. Aimlessness.

We don’t want the children we know to struggle like this.

    So, what can we do?

How can we help the kids we know (our kids and other kids, too!) become healthy, happy, caring, Christ-like adults?

The answer (or at least a good part of the answer) is found in one simple verse that describes Jesus’ own growth as a child.

On today’s episode I discuss how healthy human beings grow in four key areas, just like Jesus did: “And Jesus grew in wisdom, stature, favor with God, and favor with man.” (Luke 2:52)

Join me as we explore how to be intentional in helping kids develop mentally, physically, spiritually, and socially.

Whether you're a parent, grandparent, teacher, or simply someone who loves kids, you'll find valuable takeaways to help you navigate the complexities of today's world with intentionality and faith.

  • Hey Friend!

Have you ever noticed that disagreements with our family members can escalate quickly? This week, I sit down with my oldest daughter, Kylie Jones Healy, to unravel the mysteries behind our emotional triggers. Drawing from insights in my latest book, "Healthy Conflict, Peaceful Life," we dissect the three primary reasons for anger: blocked goals, unmet desires, and perceived wrongs. Kylie opens up about how these concepts have helped her manage sibling squabbles over something as simple as borrowed clothes, shedding light on how understanding the root causes of anger can transform conflicts into opportunities for growth and stronger bonds.

But it’s not all serious talk—Kylie and I also delve into the lighter side of conflict resolution, highlighting how humor can be a powerful tool in diffusing minor tensions. We discuss the fine line between significant and trivial relationship issues and offer practical tips on identifying non-negotiables and fostering clear communication.

Whether dealing with contentious co-parenting or everyday family friction, this episode offers valuable insights for maintaining healthy and connected relationships.

  • Hey Friend!

All of us face times where something outside our relationship affects what’s going on inside our relationship–whether it’s drama at work, with an extended family member, child, or friend. People rarely talk about what to do when this happens–until now!

Join me as I kick off our new series on healthy conflict and peaceful living with my pastor/hubby, Dr. JP Jones, the founding senior pastor of Crossline Church. We share personal stories, including how church-related issues impacted our marriage and what we learned about how to weather outside storms so they don’t shipwreck our relationships.

We normalize conflict as part of human experience, talk about what we wished we’d known sooner, and discuss practical ways we can give each other grace.

You'll discover the power of self-awareness and honest communication with God, especially when dealing with challenging relationships like those with difficult children. We dive into the significance of fostering our own healthy spiritual and emotional life, which, in turn, affects our relational life.

This episode is practical, biblical, and real!

  • What if unlocking the secrets to a successful life started with understanding the crucial role of fathers in their daughters' lives?

In honor of Father’s Day, we are shedding light on the importance of fathers in a girl’s/woman’s life.

Join me and my special guest, Dr. Michelle Watson-Canfield, as we explore the many long-term benefits of intentional connection between dads and their daughters and how we can help foster this relationship in positive ways. Loaded with scientific research, biblical insight, and practical tips, this conversation will encourage and equip you to build the relationship with your daughter that she desperately wants and needs.

If you are a mom of a daughter, you’ll learn ways to encourage the father-daughter relationship. Maybe just as important, you’ll also learn what NOT to do.

In addition, this episode is a heartfelt celebration of our podcast reaching the top 2% globally, a milestone we could only achieve thanks to your support. Thank you!!

To mark this special occasion, we're kicking off a book club series centered around my book, Healthy Conflict, Peaceful Life. In the next few weeks, I’ll be joined by my own family members—husband, son, daughters, daughter-in-law, and sons-in-law–as we tackle how to handle conflict in a healthy way. Whoa! I’m equally parts excited and scared for these conversations! But they’re sure to be filled with real-life wisdom that will help us all.

  • What if you could transform your cluttered space into a serene sanctuary with just a few mindful decisions? Join us as bestselling author Kathi Lipp shares her compassionate and practical strategies for organizing and decluttering your space. Even if you’re neat rather than messy, you likely have more stuff cluttering your space than you realize (think pantry, make-up drawer, closets) and you’ll benefit from our discussion.

Kathi talks candidly about her personal journey from a cluttered upbringing to becoming an expert in managing clutter. We cover the emotional and social impacts of living with too much stuff, and Kathy emphasizes that clutter doesn't define who you are. You'll gain valuable insights into overcoming common hurdles like decision fatigue and finding time to create an organized environment (spoiler: it takes a lot less time than you think! Kathi tells us how much.)

Kathy also introduces us to the power of curating your wardrobe and making thoughtful choices about what to keep and let go. By using Kathi's three guiding questions—Do I love it? Do I use it? Would I buy it again?—you can confidently make decluttering decisions.

Kathi’s tips and practical advice makes the daunting task of decluttering something we all can achieve.

  • Hey Friend!

I know you’ve heard people say, “Praise the Lord!” You may have even said it yourself. But what is praise, exactly? How would you explain it to your child or a new believer?

Since praising God is mentioned hundreds of times in scripture, we need to understand what it is, why it’s important, and how it can change our lives.

Today’s episode promises to leave you inspired to elevate your own acts of worship as you recognize the profound potential that lies in every word, and every note of praise we offer to God.
