"Uptown is for people who have already done something. Downtown is where they're doing something now. I live uptown, but I love downtown." - Andy Warhol
Andy might have been on to something, because we love downtown too.
Downtown is the heartbeat of a community, all across 605, whether it's DTSF (Downtown Sioux Falls), Brookings, Aberdeen, Rapid City, Pierre, or anywhere in between. No matter how big or how small a community, the downtown center is typically where you want to be if you're looking for something fun to do.

Joe is a born and raised Sioux Falls native, and his love of the city shines through in the work he does.
We get into city planning, some of the challenges and updates facing Downtown currently, and most importantly, how you can get out and about and experience it for yourself!

The 605 Show! is back again.
Join Alana and Dan as they dive into a candid conversation with Teresa Hart about finances, financial education, and how we can educate and empower women in the realm of personal finance.
Teresa is a financial professional with well over a decade of experience, and she's starting to focus more and more on education, empowerment and community building.
Along with her daughter, Kelsi, they are bringing events like firearms safety and training, business and financial education, and women focused leadership events to the South Dakota area.
Later on, we get into some sticky situations with our game, "Financial Fiascos", where we pose Teresa with some fairly specific and 99.9% hypothetical scenarios (we'll let you decide whether they're fact or fiction...), that the 605 Crew has gotten themselves into.
DISCLAIMER: all of the scenarios in this game are at best wildly unrealistic, and created solely for the purpose of entertainment; and at worst, a small glimpse into the deeply troubled personal lives of the people that create this show for your entertainment. These scenarios are not intented to represent real life scenarios, or people, and any resemblance to a real life individual or scenario is almost entirely unintentional, however not lacking a modicum of irony.
Any and all of the financial suggestions or strategies mentioned in this game are not to be taken as professional financial counsel. If you, or a loved one are interested in seeking a conversation with a financial professional, contact Teresa Hart at Hart Financial (hartfinancial.net)

The 605 Show went live from Thinker Networks with Tenley Schwartz from Downtown Sioux Falls.
Hosts Dan Card and Alana Snyder discussed August events such as the Turner County Fair, Kool Deadwood Nites, and the ever-popular South Dakota State Fair. Alana talked a bit about the August Issue of 605 Magazine, highlighting a few of the small businesses that are featured in the issue.
With a smooth segue from Dan, Tenley joined the conversation to talk about Riverfest, a Sioux Falls music festival taking place on Saturday, August 19. Tenley outlined what it looks like to attend and also to be a volunteer.
Tune in to know how to get involved with Riverfest, hear Danâs ideas on dressing up the downtown David statue, and play a game of Guess the Song in which [spoiler alert] Alana gets bested by the tech guy.

Alana and Dan explore the robust history of brothels in Deadwood with Rose from Deadwood Alive.
If you haven't been to the brothel in Deadwood, taken a tour and stepped back through time, you're missing out.
The last brothel shut down in 1980 in Deadwood, but there was over 100 years of history and tradition around the industry in the Black Hills, which not only made for some interesing times...but also made for some booming economic development for the region over the years.
We also learn about Peter Pan, we'll let you listen and figure that one out for yourself.
We're also joined by Daymond from Buffalo Chip. Chief Groundskeeper, Smile Generator, and Executive VP (this one's his actual title), Daymond makes sure some of the best and biggest parties in the country happen without a hitch.
We talk about music, the insane lineup happening in Sturgis this year, and the connections, relationships, and camraderie that happens every year at this amazing event.
No Monster Energy cans were harmed in the making of this podcast, however, if you are in Sturgis on August 4th for the kick-off party at Buffalo Chip we can make no such guarantee.
Enjoy yet another 605 Show!
