  • Acknowledging what has been built here.
During this one-off, finale episode, Kate reflects on the imparted wisdom of her guests from season three of The Ambitious Mum Podcast.

Kate talks about everything from our long-standing and limiting beliefs to recognising when we’re out of alignment and how this shows up in our bodies.

Hear as she shares how these conversations have shifted her view during the pandemic and what increased self-awareness has gifted her during this time. She also acknowledges how making space, choosing more rest and creating time out, actually helps us create the lives we want and not what we think we should be doing or being.

Kate also shares her gratitude for the community surrounding The Ambitious Mum and what the podcast has become.

Kate Moryoussef is a Wellbeing/EFT coach and mum to four children, also newly diagnosed with ADHD (an explanation and NOT a label she's keen to point out!) who is passionate about helping women to improve their emotional and physical wellbeing, rediscover their inner voice and spirituality, tap into their expansive potential, fulfil their desires and realise themselves outside of the overwhelm, inner pressure and family dynamic.

  • If you feel creatively blocked or deprived, this episode may inspire you to take stock and chase your creative desires. Choosing to leave your lucrative banking career to follow your dream at drama school, alongside having two small children, seems pretty crazy but for Esther Wane it was the best thing she ever did.
Creativity can be hard to identify with, or at times feel way out of reach. Today's guest, creative coach and storyteller, Esther Wane helps to unlock that sense of creation and purpose within people.

Esther's soul searching began following a difficult emotional time after having her children and leaving her corporate job. She then began following her own purpose and training as an actor after leaving her corporate career gave Esther what her daughter described as a "glow-up".

During this episode, Kate and Esther talk more about:

🔑 It's about those small choices you make to reach your purpose
🔑 Ask what do I want to do next?
🔑 Giving up self-doubt for over a year - and how that led her to a successful blog
🔑 The harder and darker experiences of motherhood
🔑 The concept of "The Creative Hero’s Journey"
🔑 Living life as your heroic self and moving past obstacles that prevent you from living a life more aligned to a purpose
🔑 How we grow and learn as humans in small yet monumental ways
🔑 Allowing creativity to flow in all areas of your life - not just through art
🔑 How creativity pops in when we have quieter minds, such as driving or in the shower - notice these moments
🔑 If we stop for long enough, we do know more than we think - we don't need to know the whole journey, just the next step
🔑 The joy is in the process and making conscious choices along the way
🔑 Living authentically can make the process fun, without always focussing on the outcome
🔑 Learning on the job, honing in on the joy and the 'why' and trying not to focus on the how
🔑 Notice who and what inspires you
🔑 Gratitude and what genuinely matters to us
🔑 Use your vision board with intent, but without specifics
🔑 Using meditation, however that looks like to you

  • “If I couldn't fail and I was living without this limiting belief, what would life look like?”
Could your procrastination and anxiety be caused by ancestral trauma? Kate's guest this week is Heather Sharples, a spiritual coach who helps mothers to break the cycle of inherited beliefs.

Hear Kate and Heather discuss how ancestral trauma can manifest as depression, anxiety, self-sabotage and generally "playing small". And learn how you can move beyond limiting beliefs.

  • This week's episode is a special one as Kate chats to her good friend and former boss, Suzy Glaskie. After knowing each other for 16 years, this conversation is all about their shared experience of starting afresh when your previous career doesn't align with your heart anymore.

Despite her lifelong interest in holistic practices, after graduating from university Suzy became sidetracked from this with a long career in PR, which on the surface went from strength to strength. After having her children, Suzy even started her own PR company, alongside her husband, which grew rapidly and successfully yet when she looked around the office she knew this wasn't what she wanted forever.

This is where Suzy's holistic awakening took shape and after doing a reiki session with her very poorly father, she hit a turning point where she decided to leave her business - the very next day.

Kate and Suzy's talk about her long-time interest in wellbeing which then led her to retrain as a functional medicine lifestyle coach and launch her business, Peppermint Wellness, where she is now helping people from all walks of life in preventive health and emotional wellness.

Together Suzy and Kate talk about:

How health coaching is all about connection, gentle steps and hand-holdingThe power of a daily gratitude practiceCreating a journal practice and using the writing to solidify our gratitude and desiresThe importance of incorporating lifestyle prevention and wellness into our daily livesThe beauty of spending time in nature, however that looks like to youFeeling misaligned with work and using this knowledge to leverage a new chapter in your lifeSubtly imparting health knowledge and wisdom to children without turning them away.

  • "I felt like women had settled and I just wanted to say - you can redefine your life. You can come back to your dream."

In this wonderful episode of The Ambitious Mum Podcast, Kate is joined by author, speaker and founder of "Meant For More", Stephanie Hendrick.

During this conversation, listen to Kate and Stephanie discuss how children model parents' behaviour and how our attitude and actions around our own dreams impact them as they grow up. They both talk honestly about the process of realising ambition and addressing the fear around the word "purpose".

Stephanie tells us how she sensed the small universal nudges for several years that she wasn't living out her dreams and then, the final and clear nudge came from a conversation with her daughter on the way to school. Despite knowing she had more to offer, Stephanie then realised that time seems to speed up even more with kids and she wanted to fulfil her dreams before it was too late.

During this chat, we touch on:
▶ Navigating everyone questioning her as she decided to walk away from her successful business
▶ How purpose and passion can look so different to everyone
▶ Very often at the beginning clarity isn't there
▶ She advises to just take the first step, start small
▶ Lean into the passion that's fuelling your creativity
▶ Take small actionable steps to help inspire and have practical implementable goals
▶ How a simple blog then turned into her book.
▶ All she focussed on was serving ambitious women and mothers who believed there was more to their lives
▶ Building a business on your own can be hard while navigating self-doubt, self-belief, being knocked back
▶ Breaking down passion and purpose and all the nuances that come with these 'big' words
▶ Exploring what are we good at/ what are we passionate about
▶ Fear of failure and fear of judgement when changing direction. Yet the perceived failures only encourage resilience
    ▶ Leaning into the uncertainty

  • This week, Kate sits down with author, podcast host and relationship coach, Laura-Jane Hand.

Laura-Jane's high-pressure, high-stress corporate job was bringing her a good amount of money but left her with an empty feeling.
She speaks to how you can be aware of projecting your problems and looking outwardly to find answers, searching for something to give you connection and she reminds you to stop, turn your attention inwards and move forward from a place of authenticity.
The pair also talk about "A Course In Miracles" and the change it brought about in both of their lives and how it became the catalyst for Laura-jane's new book: More Than A Mindset.
    We also talk about:

The impact A Course in Miracles had on both Laura and KateWhat the Course in Miracles lessons are about and what they can teach usHow Laura's marriage problems helped her to recognise that she wanted to help others with their relationshipsHow blame and putting our problems on others isn't the answerWhen we begin working on ourselves, others seem to naturally grow alongside with usTraining our mind to not dwell on fear but to start by reaching for the next best thoughtHow forgiveness is one of the most powerful choices we can make and why forgiveness alone can help heal our relationshipsUsing new awareness in our relationship to prevent us from reacting from a state of fearHow Laura was inspired to write her book - More than a Mindset to help others Spirituality doesn't need to be too serious or time-consuming - it's more about the intention we go with

Now, as a relationship coach, Laura-Jane is bringing a deeper sense of healing to couples allowing them to look beyond blaming one another or external situations and helping them to create more meaningful connections.

  • This week's guest has lived experience of the messages she now teaches. Psychotherapist, Keeley Tavner made a choice to release aspects of the life she grew up in - letting go of friends, her job at Ikea, as well as her toxic relationship when she began studying as a mature student while being a single mother.

During an epiphany moment, while watching an episode of Oprah, Keely decided then she wanted to become a different person and better herself and her life. After many years of studying, while also working, she is now sharing her incredible knowledge, experience and insights with other women.

It was while Keeley was working in the prison service, she had a stark realisation about narcissistic individuals and the toxic relationships they create. From a personal perspective, this helped her in her own relationship but now she helps empathic people to understand how they contribute to unhealthy relationships and helps them take more responsibility, ownership and empowerment from having awareness around their own behaviour and the expectations they are projecting on to others.
In this week's episode, Kate and Keeley cover:

conserving and protecting energy if you're an empathbeing patient with ourselves while in a place of self-discoverychunking down our goals to prevent overwhelmhow narcissists can take advantage of an empath energy looking at our own energy and the expectations we may holdhow ego holds you back making conscious choices around giving and boundariesmanaging and being aware of our expectationsthe chasm of changemoving on from resentment and anger.

Keeley Taverner is a British-Jamaican psychotherapist that started adulthood as a mother of two working as a cashier at Ikea while feeling trapped in an abusive relationship with a narcissist partner. Raised by her single mother on a London council estate where “schools housed us rather than engineer our minds for success”, she left school with no qualifications, prospects, ambition or self-belief.

Self-help books were solace, and one day, as she sorted through abandoned stock at the checkout, she experienced what her ‘yellow bag’ epiphany when she heard her inner voice speaking to her loud and clear. “Surely you can do better than this, Keeley?” She listened, hard, and step by step, brick by brick, she began rebuilding her life.

From women’s refuge to fighting for a place at a university to coaching prisoners, to running her own practice, Key For Change, Keeley has boldly, passionately and courageously defied the odds -- and now she's on a mission to help others do the same.

Keeley offers life coaching, counseling and psychotherapy to enable you to achieve positive, lasting change and provide you with a confidence toolkit you can rely on for life.

  • When we become mothers, our creativity often gets sapped in place of exhaustion and our children's needs. Because of this, mothers need to nourish themselves even more, by releasing their suppressed imagination and getting creative again. Today’s guest, Dr Georgina Green, is helping and guiding time-poor women to do exactly this through their writing.
During this Ambitious Mum podcast episode, Kate and Georgina cover the importance of expressing yourself creatively, how it helps you to feel like your authentic self and gives you another reason for being other than your duties as a mother. They also discuss why it's so vital to carve out time for your own outlets and accept how valid this is for our mental and emotional wellbeing.
Dr Georgina Green - everyone calls her George! - is a recovering long-term academic, a mother of two boys, and a book coach for mothers who want to make time, space and energy for writing. Just as her youngest son was about to start school and she was patiently waiting to restart her career, the pandemic turned her to homeschool rather than having more time to focus on writing.

Knowing she had to make time for herself, George created Calliope's Writers - a writing community of women carving out time each week to keep each other accountable and inspire creative energy to write. The group has grown wildly over the past year and she has coached several now published and acclaimed debut authors. • How can you live a more soul-driven, authentic life, and could shadow work be the first step?

Kate dives into this form of healing with clinical psychologist, Dr Rathika Marsh.
Kate and Dr Rathika aka "The Spiritual Psychologist", uncover how unresolved trauma and emotions such as fear, anger, guilt and shame can continue to show up in our life if we don't acknowledge our childhood issues and decide to heal from our past wounds.

The pair discuss the power of using inner child work to allow ourselves to heal from painful childhood traumas which can continue to show up in our life way beyond the point at which we thought we “were over it”. They also talk about:

    - conditional love
    - societal conditioning
    - not using our authentic voices
    - validation of trauma

Rathika supports people to explore, heal and expand by combining the trauma-informed science of psychology and her own experiences of spiritual healing and shadow work, with her one-to-one packages, group healing experiences and courses.
