Doctors Melvin Speisman and Andrea Slasuraitis have a discussion with Doctors Deepti Pandita and Amit Kumar Dey.
Dr. Deepti Pandita is the Chief Medical Information Officer and VP of Clinical Informatics University of California Irvine. Dr. Pandita is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and in Clinical Informatics. She is currently Associate Professor of Medicine at UCl and Faculty for the Cl Fellowship program at UCl. She was previously CHIO and Program Director of the Clinical Informatics Fellowship at Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis, MN. She received her Medical Degree from Christian Medical College, Vellore, India and did her residency training at University of North Dakota. Dr. Pandita is a Board member of the American Medical Informatics Association and Chair of the Medical Informatics Committee for the American college of Physicians leading several National committees and initiatives.
Deepti has a passion for using innovation and technology to improve care delivery for the underserved and marginalized populations and participates in health disparities research more specifically on bridging digital disparities. Her passion and research are to continue working to create health equity in the space of Telemedicine for all underserved populations beyond the Pandemic. Deepti is also engaged in digital Innovation and seeking novel solutions to ease cognitive burden of Clinical teams and promote wellness.

Dr. Amit Kumar Dey is a distinguished Consultant Physician specializing in Diabetology, Obesity, and Metabolic Disorders with over 12 years of clinical experience. Based in Kolkata, India, he has been recognized for his contributions to diabetes care and technology innovation, receiving multiple awards including the Diabetes Awareness Initiative Award at Diabetes India 2020, the JPEF2023 Award, and the American College of Physicians (ACP) India Chapter Governors Recognition Award in 2024 for his work in Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare. Certified by the American Board of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (ABAIM), he is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Public Health (UK) and Diabetes India (DI), and a key advisory member of the ACP India Chapter.
Dr. Dey is the Founder Chair of Doctors Al, a medical community connecting over 2000 healthcare professionals on Al-related topics. He serves as an associate editor at JMIR Diabetes, and as a faculty member at the National Diabetes Education Program (NDEP). He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, contributed to book chapters, and presented at numerous national and international conferences. His research interests include diabetes management in the elderly, continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) in gestational diabetes, and the application of Al in precision diabetes care. He is also the host of the widely acclaimed podcast series "MedAl - Decoding Al in Healthcare," which has reached a global audience in over 60 countries.

Doctors Mel Speisman and Connor Yost discuss how artificial intelligence is being utilized in current medical education by educators and students. As well as how Ai is currently helping doctors rediscover their love for helping patients and also theorize how it may soon assist physicians in fields such as Oncology where it is, at least at the current time, seemingly still vastly under utilized.
Connor is currently a Resident at Creighton University School of Medicine in Phoenix, Arizona and a relatively new member here at The American College of Ai and Medicine but we are extremely grateful for all of his insights and taking the time out of his busy schedule to spend time with us on today's podcast.

Dr. Matilda Dorotic is an Associate Professor in the Department of Marketing at BI Norwegian Business School in Oslo, Norway. Originally from Croatia, she has built an impressive academic career focusing on the intersection of social behavioral science and emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence (AI).
Dr. Dorotic’s research employs experimental methods, trade-off analysis, and data analytics to explore the impact of emerging technologies on citizens, societal well-being, and public policy. She places a strong emphasis on critical AI safeguards, including transparency, explainability, human oversight, privacy, and compliance with human rights.
In addition to her role at BI Norwegian Business School, Dr. Dorotic is a research affiliate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States. Her work at MIT further explores the effects of emerging technologies on society and public policy, with a particular focus on AI regulation.
