Welcome to "The Jim Kroft Podcast," where I explore the convergence of creativity and the digital economy.
Over the last year, I've spoken to many people:
experts in their fieldsseasoned professionalsthose just starting outI've noticed that many have a particular project they've never started, always dreamed of initiating, or feel so stuck they experience a mental block about making the first step.
One of my strengths is that I'm a great initiator. I know how to turn an idea into reality, whether in music, film, photography, podcasting, or freelance life.
For that reason, I wanted to make an episode where I draw from my knowledge for anyone struggling to start a project.
What are the nuts and bolts of a project?
What are the actual steps you need to take?
How can you prepare yourself psychologically for action? As such, this episode is called:
How to Start a Creative Project from ScratchIn it, I'm excited to share a step-by-step method to overcome creative paralysis and kickstart your next project.
Clarify One Thing: Focus on a single goal to channel your energy effectively.Start a New Journal: Begin fresh with a dedicated journal for your project.Brainstorm: Embrace chaos and log ideas without judgment. The List of 5: Pick 5 specific tasks daily to maintain focus.A Thing a Day: Commit 10 minutes daily to build consistency.Build a Sequence Chain: Use the brainstorm, list, and log method to create a feedback loop.Kill the Excuses: Resolve to stop making excuses and commit to your goal.Prioritize the Priority: Always focus on the most important task first.Bring People on the Journey: Share your progress and journey with others. The 30-Day Challenge: Commit to 30 days of consistent effort.
Here are the fundamental steps:I have put a lot of effort into the video for this episode, with both text, visuals, and film footage from my own life and projects. Do check it out on YouTube if you have a moment; of course, all subscribes are appreciated!

Hello, everyone, and welcome to “The Jim Kroft Podcast,” where I seek to build bridges between the parallel worlds of the creative arts and the solopreneur's path.
From the inception of this Podcast, the band Amistat has been on my list of dream guests.
Watch on YouTube
I met Jan and Joseph years ago while I was filming a documentary about "The Reeperbahn Festival". Since then I've been a proud friend to witness their music find a worldwide audience with sold-out tours, millions of plays on Spotify and a following grow to soon 700,000 on Instagram.
They dropped into their studio during their German tour, and what followed was one of the great conversations of my life.
Today, Amistat shares insights on:
🎵 Crafting Deeply Authentic Songs
🌍 Navigating the Global Music Scene
👥 The Role of Mental Health in Creativity
🎤 Tips for Aspiring Musicians
💡 Maintaining Artistic Integrity in a Commercial World
Their story they told has already had a massive influence on how I’m approaching my own creative journey and I'm so excited to share this one with you. Oh, and listen up for a wonderful live version of "Better Ways"!Are you ready? Then, let’s dive in!

Dear friends,
Today’s episode, “The Mission and The Breath,” began while I was writing my diary in my local cafe here in Berlin. It was 8 am on a Monday morning, and, honestly, I didn’t set out to write this Podcast.
But I found myself moving through the gears and decided to follow the pulse.
It brought me to wonder:
How can offsetting our life against the cosmic dance improve our choices, circumstances, and creativity?
Yes, in this podcast I consider the eternal.
Yes, in this podcast, my mind dissolves as I wrestle with the Big Bang.
Yes, in this podcast, I pause all things and reframe everyday life with the great symphony.
During my rumination and research, I consider:
🌈 The Power of Noticing: how awareness sharpens the mind and turns the ordinary into the extraordinary.⏳ Time's Tapestry: how the Big Bang’s cosmic origins link to our everyday existence.💔 Beyond Pain: how our lowest points contain the DNA of our breakthroughs🚀 Choice Power: how one’s attitude transforms our experience of life, inspired by Viktor Frankl’s wisdom🎶 Balanced Living: why the modern narrative on ambition versus presence is misguided, and how blending the two can lead to a more fulfilling life. This podcast is about how creativity and solopreneurship. But if we do not frame our pursuits within the universe’s grand story, how can we ever expect to make the best choices for our lives?
Do you understand how significant what you have in your hands is?Today, I ask you to stop for a moment and to come on a non-linear journey with me through time and space.
Ok, deep breath.
Let's dive in!Your host,
Jim

Hello everyone, and welcome to the 15th episode of “The Jim Kroft Podcast.”
This week's episode is a personal reflection on a book which has impacted me greatly:
Stephen King’s “On Writing”.
I put a lot of love into the writing, sound design and the original music.
The focus of this Podcast is linking the Solopreneur and Creative worlds.
But I don’t want it to be just about creativity but for it to be a creative podcast.
As such, I continue to experiment with the format.
I want to give you the best experience I can - and I hope something original too.Today’s episode is about finding inspiration in failure.
Each takeaway is accompanied by an anecdote from Stephen King himself, a writer with mind-boggling consistency.
Finally - by signing up for my newsletter, you will receive next week my new music - "The Isolation Diaries" EP - two
months before anyone else! With love, Jim

Hello, everyone, and welcome to “The Jim Kroft Podcast”, where I seek to build bridges between the parallel worlds of the creative arts and solopreneur's path.
When I started this Podcast, one of the first names I wrote down as a dream guest was Josh Spector, so I’m just buzzing to introduce you to him today.
What I love about Josh is that he combines the innovative mindset of an entrepreneur with the non-conformism of creatives.
As he says - “you don’t stand out by trying to fit in”.
Josh is a prolific creator with 28 products on Gumroad, the mastermind behind the "For the Interested" newsletter, which has amassed 42,000 subscribers, and the host of the thought-provoking "I Want to Know" podcast.
However, what sets Josh apart is that few people are as concentrated on giving value per minute.
Today, Josh shares insights on:
📈 One-Person Business Strategies🎨 Creative Process (Courses & Gumroad)😊 Fostering a Positive Mindset📣 Revolutionizing Newsletters🎙️ Podcast Strategy Systematization💡 Providing Value vs. InterestOn a personal note, inspired by Josh’s advice, I launched my first lead magnet over Christmas, leading to 170 new subscribers to my “Creative Insights” newsletter. Welcome to "The Jim Kroft Podcast," where we unravel the symbiosis of entrepreneurship and the arts.
It's been one of those times when life flexes its muscles, and you're faced with a Podcasting dilemma.
Back-to-back postponements left me with a choice: delay, skip, or adapt.
We all know that feeling, right? You want to stay consistent, but life... well, it has its own plans.
So, I leaned into the moment and decided to use this mini-crisis as an opportunity. As such, I write this off the back of a 20-hour creative maelstrom creating today's episode.
This is my first attempt at a narrative podcast, incorporating elements such as music (all my own), sound effects, and storytelling. It's something new for me, and I really hope you enjoy it!
Today's theme challenges something many of us grapple with as we grow older - the belief that it's too late for us.In this episode, I explore:
1️⃣ The Inextinguishable Spark of Unlived Potential
2️⃣ The Gulf Between Cultivated and Dormant Self
3️⃣ Not Self-Love, But Self-Discovery
4️⃣ Resisting the Capitalization of Self
5️⃣ Harnessing Solopreneurship as an Avenue for TransformationI’ve written about the creative process on my Substack, where you can also find a full transcript under the article "It's Not Too Late".
As ever, thank you so much for the support!

Today, I'm thrilled to present Boris Eldagsen, a pioneering German artist and agitator.

I’ve known Boris for over a decade and have greatly enjoyed seeing his splendidly tall frame towering above the crowd at several of my concerts.

Hello everyone and welcome to “The Jim Kroft Podcast” where I explore the intersection between the business and arts worlds.
My exploration of this topic began while pounding the icy streets of Berlin where I found myself drawn back to the world of Twitter, now X.
Initially hesitant, I worried about the potential distraction from my work that another social media platform could pose.
This uncertainty propelled me to investigate how I could think outside the box and that's when I discovered Hypefury, a groundbreaking platform that empowers content creators in numerous ways, from content scheduling to monetization.
And so today I feel really lucky to to speak with Yannick Veys, Hypefury’s co-founder
During our conversation, we dive into various topics, including:
Building a personal brand or solo Twitter businessAdvance content scheduling for finding your voiceYannick's insights on the Twitter algorithmBalancing content creation and business successHypefury's expansion, acquisitions, and future featuresThe appeal of X lies in its abundance of ideas, and few individuals understand its complexities better than Yannick.
