Our guests this week are among the most interesting, sharp, and controversial people on political twitter -- Diane Yap and Hunter Ash. We brought these two on to talk about the intricacies of dating for AGPs and the women who are drawn to them. We ended up talking about much more, and there's something to piss off everyone in this conversation!
Tali and Aaron AAP-vestigate Diane, Hunter challenges the notion that he was "never truly dysphoric" if he is happy with detransition, and the whole crew talks about why the gender critical movement is actually woke faction in-fighting and bound to lose...because so many only want to fight. We opine about the crisis of faith in institutions and what happens when our cultural scripts don't map onto reality. And Diane ends us on a high note with a reminder that the truth will not only set us free, but it will give us a material evolutionary advantage over people who prefer socially convenient lies.
Join us for this far-reaching conversation and let us know in the comments what triggered you most.

This podcast is about autosexuality because we are interested in expanding the conversation around an often unspoken erotic inward turn. Although we're not particularly focused on the political ramifications, we believe that "autosexuality" is the most honest and accurate framework to describe the phenomenon that is at the root of most cross-sex identification. But, could "autosexual" also be the rebranding that autogynephilia needs? Our guest this week, Schyler, thinks it might be.
Schyler is one of the co-hosts of The Dollcast Podcast and a self-identified autosexual. As she says in her twitter/X bio, Schyler lives her life unremarkably trans. So, why join the gender wars? A responsibility towards the truth. If we want a future that includes access to medicalization and social integration for trans people, Schyler believes we need to get honest about the causes of dysphoria and the realities of gender transition.

What is the one thing that the trans tech millionaires, the OF gamer tgirls, and the ROGD boys all have in common? Well, actually, it's two things: autosexuality (AGP) and autism. We are not doctors and we are not making diagnoses -- but we are sharing our observations about what we see as the overlap between desire to transition and high-functioning autistic traits. And we're not the only ones who've noticed this connection. While many trans activists wear their 'neurodivergence' as a badge of honor (often listed in bio), it has become a sticking point amongst gender critical activists and detransitioners, many of whom believe it makes even adult medical transition unethical. Here's our take:

Once upon a time, the Heterodorx asked, "is Brianna Wu based?" Well, her new podcast just might be. This week on The Navel Gays, we react to the most recent Dollcast episode with guest evolutionary biologist, Colin Wright. We chime in to discuss our opinions on youth medical transition, the bathroom debate, and how autogynephilic psychology plays a role in trans politics. So, is Dollcast based? Let us know what you think.

Dr. Az Hakeem has dedicated much of his professional life to psychoanalyzing and serving the UK trans population. He pioneered a support group model that brought together pre-ops and post-ops and created a space where unfiltered honesty trumped affirmation. He's written two books on the topic of transition/detransition and has shared his expertise in various interviews and documentaries. For all of these reasons, The Navel Gays found his recent appearance on the Gender: A Wider Lens podcast particularly frustrating.
In this episode, we react to Dr. Hakeem's very own trans typology and interrogate how it stacks up to the Blanchard model. We question whether there's a meaningful difference between fetishistic and non-fetishistic transvestism, discuss the undeniable autism connection, and argue that autogynephilia is not just a genital fetish.
For the sake of time, we played the original conversation at 1.5 speed. Here’s the full episode we’re reacting to:
Here’s Ray Alex Williams’ episode with Dr. Bailey Tali mentioned:

Am I trans, or is it just a fetish? This question is asked daily in every corner of trans reddit.
This week on the Navel Gays, we tackle this question with two of our favorite dysphorics, Annie and Ray. We discuss the differences and similarities between AGP and AGAMP (also known as partial AGP) and the different "types" of modern trans presentations. We interrogate how neuroticism, disgust, and political worldview might influence whether an AGP takes on a full-time trans identity.
Listen to this conversation and tell us -- what exactly is the difference between a transwoman and a crossdresser?

The podcast does not have to be listened to in full or in any order, but we do strongly recommend listening to 1, then 2, then jumping to any others that strike your fancy.

Annie is a 21 year old transwoman who most gender critics would classify as a ROGD Boy, that is unless they understood AGP as well as Annie does.

We had Ashley back to wander deeper into the wild world of fandom and ‘shipping’ (AKA yaoi) and how they relate to FtM culture and transition. We try to tease apart what is autoandrophilia (AKA autohomoerotica) & what is social contagion (ROGD). Also, no lag this time so a much smoother conversation.
If you didn’t listen to part one, Ashley is an autoandrophilic woman from Australia who has a lot of interesting insights on the topic of autoheterosexuality and metasexuality.

We mixed it up this week and brought a guest on. It’s none other than Laura Reynolds.

Our audience is probably already familiar with Laura and her story of AAP, transition, and detransition. If you aren’t, follow the links below to hear her story in detail. So rather than hashing out her autobiography again, we instead had Laura on to tell us what she thinks we’re wrong about.
We were excited to have this conversation because Laura not only has a personal experience with AAP and a firm understanding of the sexology of gender dysphoria, but she was also in the ‘queer community’ in the late 90s and early 00s, which was when the butch to FtM floodgates had just begun to open.
We unfortunately didn’t have time to dig into each of Laura’s criticisms and we feel many warrant more discussion, so we plan to do a follow up episode to dig in in more detail. Tune in next week for that. Laura on Transparency:

This project is the regurgitation of an in depth conversation about the experience of autosexuality (sexual or romantic attraction to oneself), which often manifests as homosexuality. Meta sexuality is the ingredient that seems to turn autosexuality into homosexuality.

Here is a glossary of terms for anyone not already steeped in sexological discourse:
Auto = self Allo = other Gyne = female Andro = male Meta = self-referential
To use in a sentence… an allogynephilic male is the clinical term for straight man. He is male, and experiences external attraction to females. Lesbians, which both your hosts here are (regardless of how Aaron feels about that word), are also allogynephilic. But in the hosts case it appears to be the result of autosexuality. For Tali, that was attraction to her own female body projected externally. For Aaron, that was the manifestation of an internal desire to be male (meta attraction). How many other lesbians can trace their allogynephilia to autosexuality?
