It's been a tough few years for British Juniors, with no international competitions since the summer of 2019. Pete Molloy was part of the Junior World Orienteering Champs team back then, and managed have a great few runs at this year's JWOC in his last year as a junior. But it wasn't a straightforward competition in Portugal, after the devastating news of all the forest races being cancelled. They've since been rescheduled to November.
Pete also chats about an unexpected senior debut in the green forests of Estonia for the European Orienteering Championships, and his incedible year of orienteering all around Europe, more than making up for two seasons without travel.

Such an incredible performance from the GB team at the World Championships means we've had to bust out an emergency podcast!
It wasn't easy, but we managed to get Alice Leake 🥉, Kris Jones 🥈, Megan Carter-Davies 🥇🥈🥈 and Ralph Street 🥈 all on a zoom call at the same time, as they were recovering from the competition (and the banquet!). It was great to hear them talking about their motivations, their preparation and to celebrate the depth of sprint talent in the squad.
And of course we talk about our personal reactions from the week, with Katherine commentating in the arena, and Will watching from home - sometimes on catch-up, having not looked at social media!
