Beatriz Villarroel is a Postdoctoral researcher (Nordic Fellow), Stockholm University, Sweden Affiliated researcher with Instituto de Astrof ́ısica de Canarias, Tenerife, Spain Principal Investigator of the "Vanishing & Appearing Sources during a Century of Observations" project (VASCO).
The VASCO project "aims at finding astro-physically interesting mismatches between historical sky surveys: ‘Which object flickered out from our celestial radar?’, ‘Which locations hint at astronomical spectacles to discover?’."

It was truly a pleasure speaking with R. W. Bro. Gerald Carleton of Glenview United Masonic Lodge-a very distinguished Illinois, 52-year Mason!
His Masonic career is too long to post fully, but some highlights include:
- Raised in William McKinley Lodge No. 875 March 25, 1969
- Served as Master of same 1973-1976, 1986-1995
- Served as Master of Wright's Grove Lodge No. 779 - 2000
- Served as Master of Morton Grove Lodge No. 1146 2013-2014
He is a life member of 3 Lodges.
He was commissioned as a Grand Lecturer of the Grand Lodge of Illinois May 11, 1974.
He was appointed District Deputy Grand Master 1977 through 1981. He served as a Grand Lodge Instructor 1982-1995.
He is also an active member of the Scottish Rite, the York Rite, Shrine, and Eastern Star, and Masonic High Twelve Club!

On July 22nd, 2021, Square & Compass had the pleasure of visiting the Texas Masonic Retirement Centre, an absolutely amazing Centre for Texas Masons and their families (it even has a chartered Lodge).
As part of the visit, Square & Compass had the opportunity to attend a "High Noon Club" meeting, and to learn about both the club & listen to a past M. Worshipful Texas Grand Master Speak.

His books and writings include the topic of Freemasonry. He speaks nationwide on a variety of issues about Freemasonry, the criminal justice system, and critical thinking. Elected to two, consecutive terms as Master of Lexington Lodge No. 1 – the oldest Masonic lodge in Kentucky - he is co-founder and coordinated the Masonic History & Study Group and has served eight year as chair of the Education Committee and coordinated the Structured Degree Class Program. He is currently a member of the Grand Lodge of Kentucky Committee on Education, a Fellow and member of the Board of The Masonic Society. He is Vice-Chair and Founding Member of the Rubicon Masonic Society. Also, he is a member of the Scottish Rite, and the Philalethes Society, Southern California, and Texas Lodge of Research, and the Quatuor Coronati Correspondence Circle. He was named as Fellow in the initial class at William O. Ware Lodge of Research in Covington, Kentucky where he is also a life-time member. An Honorary Member of Sophia Lodge No. 767, North Carolina’s first Observant Lodge, he is also a member of Fiat Lux No. 1717, and Alba Lodge No. 222 in Washington, D.C.
