  • Has your doctor ever said to you: "Check your fasting glucose"? So you do it and then...what do you do with that information?
    Most of us just write the numbers down and then show them to our doctor. But are you having a deep conversation about these specific numbers and what you're suppose to do with them? If you aren't then you SHOULD. Make sure to listen to find out why.

    All these "guidelines" that are thrown at us need to be broken down and properly interpreted depending on our health issues and not just diabetes alone.

    Reducing medication and insulin shots is possible. Reversing your type 2 diabetes is possible but you have to find the right balance in order to achieve it. If you take something out of the equation you need to replace it with something else: exercise, good quality sleep and a good and nutritious diet.

  • 42.4% of adult Americans struggle with obesity and of course this is a driver toward diabetes. 11.5% of diabetes patients also become cancer patients. Whereas 8.9% of people without diabetes become cancer patients. Over 600,000 people die of cancer every year. A significant increase in deaths from pancreatic and liver cancers is estimated to continue in the next 2 decades.
    These are scary stats and it shouldn't be this way.

    The main reason behind today's episode title is that, when you become a type 2 diabetic you set yourself up for attracting all of these other diseases.

    Lifestyle choices can either add more diseases to your life or prevent them from happening. This decision relies ENTIRELY on you and not your doctor or nurse. I know, it can be a tough process but it's been more than proven that it is possible.

  • We all know constant and poorly managed stress isn't healthy for us. The physical and mental consequences are almost infinite. When cortisol levels are high for a long period of time it blocks your body from releasing insulin, meaning the glucose that's in your bloodstream stays there for that extra energy we need because stress is pulling us down. Our pancreas will try to produce more insulin and so we start unbalancing the way our body should naturally be working and that's when we can become insulin resistant.
