In this episode of The Wellness Within, we dive into a topic that may resonate with many of you - how to approach the new year when youâre not where you hoped youâd be.
As 2024 draws to a close, weâre surrounded by people reminiscing on their highs of the year and their milestones achieved, and planning ahead for the upcoming year. However, if 2024 didnât quite go your way, it can be hard to reflect on the year and look forward to whatâs coming next, especially when youâre still in the midst of a challenging time.
In this episode, Iâm sharing how to approach the new year when life has thrown you a curve ball; I discuss how to foster self-compassion at this time, the nuances of acceptance and how to use this to move forward rather than seeing it as âgiving upâ, how to build resilience in the face of a challenge, how to reframe catastrophising and rumination and much more. I also share my advice on how you can support yourself during this time and what daily habits and rituals you can adopt to genuinely tap into true self-care, not just self-care as a means to optimise performance and output.

In this episode of The Wellness Within, Iâm joined by my very first guest, Grace Williams, a health and nutrition coach with an amazing story to share.
Grace shares her story of navigating some of lifeâs most acute challenges â from being diagnosed with MS at 21, to losing her mum to cancer, and ultimately transitioning from a corporate career to one in wellness. Her experience is a testament to the resilience and inner strength it can take to rebuild after life throws you off course.

In this first episode of The Wellness Within, Iâm talking about my journey with chronic fatigue syndrome.
Going from being an active, high-achieving management consultant and marathon runner to becoming bed-bound with CFS, and then rebuilding my life and my health, Iâve often wondered - had I known then what I know now, could I have avoided chronic illness?
In this episode, I share the lessons Iâve learnt from my journey, including the importance of learning the language of your body and recognising the subtle signals itâs sending you before it's too late. I explore why quick fixes and surface-level wellness routines arenât always enough, and I share the key questions you can ask yourself when these early signals start to arise to help you get to the root of the issue before the body says no. I also share how to bring awareness to your default coping mechanisms and thought patterns, why this is so important and what you can do today to start to cultivate true wellness from within.
