  • This week, I’m diving into a topic I never thought I’d share so openly: the end of my marriage. It wasn’t one dramatic moment, but a series of realisations, conversations, and life events (oh hi there, COVID!) that led to the decision to part ways. And while it was one of the most difficult times in my life, it was also the beginning of something new - a journey back to myself and a deep friendship with someone I truly value. This outcome has been one of the greatest gifts of my life.

    I share:

Why heartbreak became the biggest catalyst for my personal and professional growthThe explosion of creativity and business success that followed my separationHow my ex-husband and I have built a respectful friendship post-marriageThe books that helped me process grief, resilience, and self-discoveryWhy I no longer believe in the concept of ‘your other half’ and what I embrace instead.

This is a raw, honest conversation about love, loss, and learning to stand fully in your own power. Whether you’re healing from heartbreak, redefining relationships, or simply curious about what happens after love changes form, I hope this episode resonates with you.

  • ⚠️ Trigger Warning: This episode focuses on the resilience of the human spirit but does discuss sensitive topics, including baby loss, childhood illness, and starvation. If these subjects may be distressing for you, please listen with care or feel free to skip this episode.

This episode of Unscripted is filled with deep reflection, unexpected realisations, and powerful moments that I'll never forget. From celebrating a book launch to witnessing the raw resilience of the human spirit and welcoming new members to our mini farm, this past week has been one of transformation, gratitude, and perspective shifts.

    I share:

The backwards way the Mabel's World imprint came to life (and how a psychic predicted it!)A life-altering International Women's Day event where I heard stories of unimaginable loss, resilience, and hope – including Eugenia's journey through starvation, child loss, and finding joy againHow this event reshaped my view on pain, privilege, and the relativity of struggleWhy I've chosen an inspiring woman called Eugenia as the recipient of the 2025 Mabel's World Author ScholarshipThe incredible work of Forever Projects and their mission to keep families togetherThe newest additions to our family and how farm life is teaching my boys responsibility, resilience, and care.

This episode is an emotional rollercoaster but one that will leave you thinking deeply about your own life, your blessings, and how you can make a difference.

  • This week, I saw international pop icon Kylie Minogue live - twice. I expected to be entertained, and I was. But what I didn’t expect? A lesson in business and a reminder about the DNA of personal growth.

Under the glitter and sequins, I discovered something game-changing.

In this episode of Unscripted, I’m popping the Kylie Prosecco and diving into what we can all learn from the evolution, reinvention, and longevity of Kylie Minogue - and no, this isn’t just about Kylie.

From Neighbours to global icon, Kylie has remained relevant, adored, and completely at ease with who she is. But how? And what can we take from her journey to apply in our own lives, businesses, and creative work?

    I explore:

✅ Reinvention vs. Authenticity – Why staying relevant doesn’t mean losing yourself

✅ Owning Your Era – The confidence, clarity, and consistency that comes with knowing your worth

✅ Longevity Over Hype – Why sustainable success beats short-term trends

✅ The “Kylie” Business Mindset – The freedom that comes from clarity over chaos.

So grab a glass of bubbly (because we’re doing this Kylie-style) and get listening! 🥂

  • In this episode of Unscripted, I share how this week I did something I’ve never done before - I gave myself permission slips. And not just metaphorically. I literally printed them out, signed them, and stuck them in my bathroom.

    One was long overdue.

    One felt a little rebellious.

And one? It was exactly what I needed.

But what happened next was unexpected. My Powerhouse vs. Potato theory was put to the test, and I discovered something surprising about how I work, rest, and show up in the world.

In this episode of Unscripted with Lisa Burling, I dive into:

✅ Why I wrote myself actual permission slips – and what happened when I followed them

✅ How embracing my Powerhouse vs. Potato theory changed the way I think about productivity

✅ The power of doing something purely for joy, without needing a reason or a result

✅ Why we need to rethink the ‘rules’ we place on ourselves (especially as adults).

This episode is real, reflective, and full of insights on self-permission, productivity, and breaking your own limits. If you’ve ever needed a permission slip to do something just because you want to, this one’s for you.

  • In this episode of Unscripted, I’m unpacking an unexpected and deeply personal experience -my therapist broke up with me. After ten years of working together, she told me she could no longer see me, and it completely rocked me. Was I beyond therapy, or was this the ultimate test of everything I’ve learned?

In this second episode of Unscripted with Lisa Buring, I dive into:

✅ How I processed my therapist’s decision - and the unexpected lesson I took from it

✅ The power of your network and why it matters more than ever

✅ A simple but profound rock analogy that will change the way you see problems in your life

✅ The weird phenomenon of driving around with bags of charity clothes in the boot of my car for weeks (anyone else?!).

This episode is honest, reflective, and full of insights on self-growth, resilience, and letting go. If you’ve ever faced an unexpected ending and didn’t know what to do next, this one’s for you.
