  • Do you think we should be happy with where we are in life or do you feel like itā€™s healthy to ā€œnever be ok with where we areā€?

Today I want to introduce you to Dylan, Dylan and I met compliments of an event in NYC, if you remember me sharing about the group of us that hung out that night, and maybe even recognize him from a recent portrait set I shared (from his birthday)

Dylan is the kind of human that will ask how you are doing, the kind that will listen to what you have to say, the kind that fears mystical monsters, and is not a fan of how his grandmom feels about death

Dylan and I chat about what itā€™s like growing up, setting boundaries that allow us to be better and show up for those we love and ourselves better. We chat about managing time and being in two places at once, and the idea of why we should never be satisfied.

He shares why community matters to him, how he is excited to be a part of creating community and space for others. He shares the reality that I think we all need to be reminded of, that men have emotional health that needs to be valued, and how listening to people when we meet them can change the way we interact with them

Dylan is someone who has chosen to see life and show up in a way that creates a better space, life, and world for those around him, he is one that has a gentle spirit, and sincere heart, and a desire to remind others to not be afraid to ask yourself who you want to be.

So tune in today and meet Dylan, someone who will remind you what it is to listen, to be you, to care deeply but not at the expense of who you were meant to be, and someone who I have come to know and get to call a friend

And to you Dylan thank you, thank you for being you, for taking the time to share a chat, for the way you so genuinely desire to remind others that being who they are matters. You are a kind soul and a creative human, excited for all thatā€™s ahead for you and for many more hangs at the studio.

  • An open letter to the president

A lot has happened in the short weeks since you took office, I won't say I speak for all of the American people in this, but I believe we have a right to know how you would answer this question; what is it that defines an American to you?

I do my very best to not discuss politics online as I find it detracts from what matters most in life, the chance to connect, value, and show love to another. But, so much has taken place, and I fear so much more yet to come, I want to share this letter on behalf of my fellow Americans and on behalf of those that feel fear, concern, and even a bit of hopelessness at what has and continues to transpire.

I can't say I've seen a leader I was proud of lately in this country, but Mr. President, as the one who holds a powerful pen, I ask that you consider who it is that truly makes up what it is to be an American.

I hope you tune in today, I hope if you find this helpful or want to talk that you will send me a message, and that you would know that my intention is as it always has been, to hold space for my fellow human to be seen and valued.

    Sincerely,
    Your fellow human
    Lianna

  • Have you ever had someone cheer you on?

Today I want to introduce you to Thuy, a cheerleader for anyone she meets, a kind and giving human, a sister, a daughter, and a giver of love to anyone she can

Thuy and I chat about the way religion and nature are one and the same, what hallmark movies and whales have in common, and a change thatā€™s coming

She shares how she believes that the universe isnā€™t against us, the importance of letting time be time and not rushing things, and how we might all leave the world a better place if we were a bit like a mushroom

I met Thuy through a friend and her partner and she has become such a blessing and I couldnā€™t be more honored to share a little of her spirit with you all

So tune in today and meet Thuy, someone who will cheer you on and remind you to leave a little love everywhere you go

And to you Thuy thank you, thank you for your overflowing kindness, your joy, your energy and the absolute light you are to be around, Iā€™m so glad I met you

  • Today I want to introduce you to Victor

Victor is a world class diver, photographer, and friend. He is one that will gently and patiently be present for those around him, one that has a sense of humor worth every peso he has won in the lottery and then some, and one that I believe honestly communicates and believes the reality that each of us have the ability to both be filled with love and yet live moments where we may be the asshole in someone elseā€™s story.

Victor and I chat about our troubles in Mexico, from car accidents to being robbed, and all the tacos in between.

He shares about how life isnā€™t always a deep purpose but that we get to be proud of how we show up and the people and animals we love.

Victor is talented, kind, inspiring in and out of the water, and a friend I have even more so recently been shown immense kindness and generosity by.

So tune in and meet Victor, a world class friend and human

And to you Victor thank you, thank you for how you stood with me on that difficult night, for how you sincerely love and care for others, for your sense of humor and everything in between. I truly canā€™t thank you enough for simply choosing to open your space to me, your time, and never hesitating to be a friend to me. That night would have been so much harder without you my friend.

  • I got robbed on Saturday night, my camera gear, my dive gear, my podcast equipment, my toothbrush like everything

As a creator these are things I need to make a living, things I need to do my job, there were projects on my laptop, client work, things I canā€™t ever get back

There were personal things, rings Iā€™ve collected from my travels around the world, gifts from friends

Dive gear that was needed to shoot for a client project and as a freedive instructor things that are integral to have

But as I put out a message asking for help, hoping friends in Mexico might see someone trying to sell what was taken

What I got was an outpouring of love

  • What would it look like for you to help someone just a little? To give someone not ALL of what you had, but just, some?

Today I want to introduce you to Chase, someone who I would consider a connector of humans. The kind of human that when he meets someone seeks to share his network with, bring into his world, and I believe, uniquely inspire them to pursue whatever it is they dream about.

Chase is one in a million, but heā€™s one that shares that no matter how unique each of us are, the beauty in knowing that there are so many others that connect with what we connect with, value what we value, and have even experienced parts of life the way we have; the reality that we are on a common journey.

We chat about what it means to have a ā€œthird spaceā€ in our world today, how he has found so much purpose in creating one not only for himself, but for others to share in. He shares how a time in his life when life felt, not worth it, shifted by him taking a small savings and just letting it take him on an adventure.

He shares how he is the sum of those around him, how his moral compass was guided by his friends, much to his success, and how steak is best served with a table to share it with

Chase is one that makes it easy to feel inspired around, hard to let yourself feel something is impossible around, and one that will remind you that; ā€œif you do something long enough, you have to get better at it.ā€

So tune in today and meet Chase, I promise you will walk away from this conversation feeling read to in his words ā€œdo the right thing, and create cool shit.ā€

And to you Chase thank you, thank you for how you so genuinely have created and welcomed me into your space, how you have such a sincere joy for connection and creation, for your endless pursuit of doing what you love and inspiring others, and for the absolute joy it is to call you a friend.

  • What does it take to make you happy?

Can you think of the last time you felt a sense of contentment or that you viewed your life with a sense of appreciation simply from watching the sunrise?

Today I want to introduce you to Marco, Marco is just such a person. As a photographer and lover of times in nature, Marco is one that truly takes each moment for the joy it holds.

I met Marco a few years ago in Mexico and on this past trip I got to do my scuba dive course with him; we got to learn from our friend and instructor Fonsi, and I got to see even more of who I already knew Marco to be

Marco and I chat about how we can often as humans push or expect so much of ourselves, how taking things one action, or one decision at a time can so often lead to less anxiety and a chance to see where life will take us

He shares how taking small steps has led him to where he is and what he does, how he values being a friend and having space to still explore who and what he will do with life

Marco is one that means what he says, one that values connection with others, one that will stay in touch with you no matter where you are in the world, and one that will do what he can to support those in his life

Marco is a genuine soul and one Iā€™m truly honored to get to share with you today

To tune in and meet Marco, a human that wants to remind you to take life as it comes to ā€œroll with the currentā€ and appreciate the beauty in every single moment

And to you Marco thank you, thank you for allowing me to share a part of your story with others, for being a source of sincerity and kindness in this world, and for being a fantastic scuba partner. Excited to see where life continues to take you and all the beautiful things you are yet to create

  • Do you feel like art holds value in your life?

Today I want to introduce you to Lexi, Lexi is an artist, and as much as I often say that we are not merely defined by ā€œwhat we doā€ there is something in the heart of an artist, something in the way they see the world, in the way they see humanity, and they way the allow their own emotions to take form in what they create. In so many ways being an artist is a term that actually defines and does not contain a person so fully all at once

I had the pleasure of working alongside Lexi in Mexico on a recent project of hers, both shooting BTS and modeling for her, she is an incredibly encouraging person to work with and one that truly inspires and motivates you to do your best, while all along knowing she is going to encourage you and be her kind self no matter what

Lexi and I chat about what it is to pursue a passion project, why women in water has been her focus and what moments in her career have felt like the most success.

She shares the fear she feels going into a big project knowing it needs to produce pieces she can use, that failure is both terrifying and beautiful all at once. Lexi uses the phrase ā€œhappy accidentsā€ a lot, in a really sweet way, that the weather, the rain, the darkness, and the things we cannot control are all things that can lead to ā€œhappy accidentsā€ in her art. I really love the way she views her work, the way she approaches those she works with when it comes to creating her work, and the way she feels pressure, but does not let it consume who she truly is.

Lexi is one that thinks so much of what she is does, on the impact she has on those and what is around her, she feels deeply, connects wholly, and is one that I believe lives with a sense of desire for her work, but not one that places that above the value of who stands in front of her.

So tune in today and meet Lexi, an artist, a determined soul, a heart full of beautiful things yet to be seen by the world.

And to you Lexi thank you, thank you for letting me push you to have this conversation, for the honor of getting to work alongside you, model for you, and be encouraged by you as I pushed my own abilities as well. You are a truly lovely soul and I am grateful for the time with you. Looking forward to our next adventure together.

  • What makes someone worth listening to?

Today I want to introduce you to Olumide, and while I could say heā€™s worth listening to because heā€™s an olympian, because heā€™s experienced grief and learned how to grow through it, or because he comes from a culture that maybe you have never heard of or one that maybe your history connects toā€¦.

I could say those things make him worth listening to, but they arenā€™tā€¦

Olumide is someone that isnā€™t chasing, not chasing the most popular person in the room, not chasing a title, but someone who is simply, human; and in our world today this is a quality that in my opinion is what makes him worth listening to

We chat about what it was like being the youngest sibling in a Nigerian family, the rich culture and the loss part of that family at a young age. We talk about what itā€™s like to grow up and realize itā€™s ok to not be ok, and that those that love us need us to be human not strong

He shares what realizing his dream as an Olympian felt like, where that dream started, and how the loss of his dad marked healing in what it means to not hide from what it is to feel

Olumide shares so much of what has made him who he is, he shares lessons his journey has taught him that I know will not only impact you as you hear them, but in so many ways allow you to be remained, or maybe even hear for the first time, that itā€™s ok to be you, to be proud of you, and to accept the greatness and the good that makes up who you are

So tune in today and meet Olumide, a human, and one that I am so excited to share with you

And to you Olumide thank you, thank you for being someone who can sit in a crowd and connect with a single individual, for sharing your journey, your culture, for the way you so genuinely value the person sitting in front of you, Iā€™m so grateful to have met you and even more to have gained a friend

  • What if you met a human for the first time today? No past experience, fears, or expectations, just a blank slate on what this could be?

Today I want to introduce you to Malcom, I met Malcom on the train compliments of his suitcase rolling its way over to me as the train took off. Thereā€™s something about interactions like this one that I feel like we all need to be reminded to take note ofā€¦

Malcom is the kind of person that will smile back when you pass him no the street, the kind of person that will pause and let conversation with a stranger happen, and the kind that values connection and others enough to ask a question and make a friend

I think the world would be a better place if we all took some advice from how Malcom views life. If we let ourselves see a passerby or stranger on the train as a chance to know someoneā€¦

We chat about what it means to be career driven with an overriding love for the unconditional love of family, why calling his favorite meal ā€œthe burger of Franceā€ is both accurate and a little insulting, and the sense of pride in what he does and how he gets to see it impact a student

He shares something a past employer told with him that changed how he sees and values not just his work but who he is, how the times in life that light a fire in us are exciting, filled with change, but still require action from us to bring them to fullness

We chat about how men are layered, how spending 3 min a day on something is an almost un attainable goal that he wishes we all hit more, and what he wishes people knew about the French

Malcom is one that doesnā€™t give advice lightly, one that has a sincere respect for what it means to be who we are, one that will put the work in to understand something and teach it with passion but never make someone feel less than as they learn, and one that I believe gives some of the best advice to be shared on this podcast

So tune in today and meet Malcom, a human that I believe reminds all of us to live in the reality of what our day to day interactions are, to base our judgment of self and others on what takes place in the real world, and to remember that online isnā€™t always the most accurate place to be

And to you Malcom thank you, thank you for being someone open to connection with others, someone willing to share time, allow me to get to know you, for the gentle and joy filled way you approach life, and the reminder to value those in our lives that are nothing like us. Happy to call you a friend

  • Have you ever felt experienced something that made you change your entire trajectory of how you live?

Today I want to introduce you to Matt, or Crispy as he is affectionately known, Crispy is one that I believe is rich beyond what many of us will ever know. He is one that lives life fully as who he is, takes care of who that person is meant to be, finds joy in absolutely everting, and treats others with kindness and care in a way that allows them to be their best selves around him

I had the pleasure of meeting Crispy during my time in Australia as he came on as our skipper, a skipper for anyone who doesnā€™t know is the one who not only sails and mans the ship, but also the one who holds responsibility for all on board. This is no small task and one that he carries out with a smile and holds your trust with integrity

We chat about what itā€™s like being an adventurer, sailing the seas, free diving, FPV flying, and what it is to be a free spirit to him. He shares the fear of being stuck physically and not being able to live or experience life as fully.

He shares what itā€™s like working in ā€œnatures TV,ā€ how he near had a panic attack his first time flying FPV, and how heā€™s toying between sugar daddy and broke sailor pirate.

He is one that values friendship, connection, and sharing experiences that cause us to see ourselves and others in a joyous light. Crispy has worked with those that have spent their last few dollars backpacking around the world and those that call super yachts their pastime, but in something that speaks so genuinely to who he is, as he shared story after story with us, the reality that how he treats each one of those people remains the same.

Crispy is one that sees someone for what they need, what they will appreciate, and in a way reads others so genuine, I believe it is a talent of sincerity that allows someone to know how much of oneself others deserve to know while still holding them in a place of care; Crispy does this so well, and it was an honor to get to know who he truly is

So tune in today and meet Crispy, a self proclaimed Australian pirate, a man full of joy and wisdom, and someone whoā€™s stories I hope make others smile and appreciate who he is as much as they have for me.

And to you Crispy thank you, thank you for joining our crew last minute, for being the life of the party and valuing life so deeply, thank you for the honor of letting us all see the best of you, and the beaming ray of light that you are. Chicken and Squid are lucky to have you, and we are all so lucky to have shared time with you. See you soon friend.

  • Do you feel safe within yourself?

Today I want to introduce you to Liv, Liv is someone who shows up in a settled way is the best I can think to describe her, she isnā€™t the first one to speak up if thereā€™s a silence, but she trusts her own voice to be heard, she isnā€™t afraid to learn or not know something in front of others, and as a result I watched her gain new skills as a result, she is one with a big heart, and one Iā€™m excited to share with you today

We chat about what it means to be seen and how that can be terrifying, what it means to sit in fear and not run from it, and how life, when we let it, is the best teacher we can be around

She shares how an illness without answers led her to trust in the power we each have within us, how it in so many ways, not by choice, it reset her life, but that taking ownership over her health led her to healing

We chat about what itā€™s like feeling like an outsider until you find your people, and how trusting ourselves to be who we are is worth the journey. We chat about family struggles, something she wishes men would hear, and the importance of being a good egg in the world

Liv is someone that I grew quickly fond of, someone who embraces the silly side of life, who has grown wise as she has allowed life to be her teacher, and one who is truly showing up as a good egg in the world

So tune in today and meet Liv, someone I know will help you see just how simply beautiful it is to be you

And to you Liv thank you, thank you for being the perfect addition to our crew, for showing up with a heart for others, hands ready to help, and a willingness to share light at joy. You are a sweetheart truly and I canā€™t wait to see what you do with this magical life ahead of you.

  • What is your reason for living?

Today I want to introduce you to Michi, Michi is the kind of person that will speak to you as if who you are and what matters to you is what he desires to know most, as if there really is joy in the unplanned moments of sitting with another.

Thereā€™s a sophistication to the way Michi approaches a conversation, something that came so gently and humbly across, but something so intentional that says, ā€œI now enough to value you and learn from youā€

We chat about the importance of rooting your value in something that cannot change or will always be there, about how deeply the birds and the sunset impact how we see life, and a what a well placed ice cream shop has to do with peace

He shares the reality of how big changes all at once came into his life have proven to him that our ability often outweighs our fear, how time alone actually allows us to show up in a more impactful way as someone who deeply values time and connection with others, and why knowing those that are different from us is something we all need to have in our lives

He shares why offering to lead, to give the speech, or sing in a talent show is some of the best advice he can give, (and I have to agree.)

Thereā€™s a lot about Michi that I truly admire, a lot about how he is able to articulate his view on life, humanity, and his role as a part of it all. But I think what stood out to me most is the simple reality that he chooses to ask ā€œwhat matters to who you areā€ in a way that comes from a place of intention; to ask a question that allows another to share a bit of their heart.

So tune in today and meet Michi, someone who is making an impact on the world by simply seeing whomever is in front of him, and someone who I know will change for the better the way you view how you answer the question, ā€œwhat is your reason for living?ā€

And to you Michi thank you, thank you for the chance to learn more of who you are, for your trust in allowing me to share the light in you with others, for the way you have shown me care and value in our conversation, and the way you are impacting the world one person at a time. You are a truly lovely human and it is an honor to know you

  • What would it look like to live in a world where we all believed our purpose was to make others feel safe with us?

Today I want to introduce you to Jules, Jules might be one of the sweetest humans you will ever meet, not just because of how she will genuinely hold space for anyone around her, but because of how she so authentically shows up and allows others to not just know her but feel freedom to be who they are around her as well

Jules is one that I admire and love dearly, she is a lover of coffee, and passionate force for friendship. She is a loved and cherished human that loves and cherishes humans.

We talk about the kind of person who stops to hug their friends during a marathon, how itā€™s such a metaphor for life and appreciating connection, how community and holding space for others is of utmost importance, and how she never wants to miss out on her ā€œSaturdayā€™sā€

She shares what itā€™s like holding herself to an often harsh standard, how the pressure of letting those who love her down can feel heavy, but how the reality that she has accomplished and pursued one big dream after another is something she is so proud of

We chat about how it is never too late to pursue a dream and in her beautiful words how ā€œdreams arenā€™t just for kids,ā€ is a truth we all need to remember to believe. We talk about the impact of being in a partnership, how that person can be a place of home and peace, and how it should never take away from who you are.

So tune in today and meet Jules, someone who will change how you view the pauses you take along your journey in the best way, someone who will make you believe you can: be wanted, be worthy, be real, be kind to yourself, and be a beautiful friend

And to you Jules thank you, thank you for letting me make you cry a little, for letting me learn a lot from you, for being a woman I and so many others can see grace and love so prominently displayed in how you choose to live. You are a sweet gem and Iā€™m so grateful to know you and feel the way you love others so fully

  • Do you believe you have the right and ability to choose who you will become?

Today I want to introduce you to Trey, Trey is someone who values humanity, and no matter where you are in the world, or what you woke up to today, we all need more people like Trey in our lives

He is someone who exemplifies strength in what it means to be a man in this world; to stand by those he loves, to watch out for those around him, and to humbly share how he has and does struggle with what goes on inside him

We chat about what itā€™s like when life chooses to focus on community, on creating space for others, and prioritizing using his time to give back and live a life of purpose for others

He shares a pivotal time in his life where his entire future was ready fixed on a life he never saw coming, and how in one text, it all changed.

We talk about what it means to be seen, wanted, and welcome, and how each of us matter so much more and make so much more of an impact than we often realize. About how privilege and segregation are neither far enough in history or something we often handle in the best way, and what it would look like if we used what we have been given to better those around us.

He shares how having a plan that may never happen saved his life, how we hope to move to Atlantis one day, and how much he loves what he gets to do for work now.

Trey is the kind of human that will positively change the way you look at not just others, but yourself. He is one that will remind you to be kind to yourself as you find your next steps forward, but to know that you should never be afraid to ask for what you want or need

So tune in today and meet Trey, someone who will allow you to believe for the first time, or be reminded that you can do so much more and make so much more of an impact than you can imagine

And to you Trey thank you, thank you for taking the time, for being someone I can call a friend, for the way you so humbly and boldly speak of humanity, both your own and collectively, the way you have and continue to show up in this world. It is people like you that strengthen my faith in humanity
