  • Tyler, the Creator, born Tyler Gregory Okonma on March 6, 1991, in Ladera Heights, California, is a groundbreaking artist known for his genre-blending approach in music, fashion, and art. He emerged in the late 2000s as a leading figure in the alternative hip-hop scene, founding the influential collective Odd Future (Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All, or OFWGKTA) in 2007. Odd Future’s experimental style and dark, satirical humor set a new tone in hip-hop, and Tyler quickly became its most provocative and charismatic figure. Tyler’s early work, including his debut album Goblin (2011), was raw and controversial, exploring themes of alienation, anger, and identity with a no-holds-barred lyrical approach. Known for songs like “Yonkers,” Goblin gained attention for its unconventional production and explicit lyrics, placing Tyler at the forefront of a new era in hip-hop. His second album, Wolf (2013), retained his trademark intensity while demonstrating his evolving musicality, and it marked a shift towards more layered production and introspective themes, balancing aggression with moments of self-reflection. Over the years, Tyler’s music evolved dramatically, showcasing his journey toward self-acceptance and personal growth. Cherry Bomb (2015) revealed a more experimental side, blending jazz, rock, and R&B elements, even as Tyler’s distinct voice and vision held it all together. With Flower Boy (2017), he fully embraced a more reflective, vulnerable approach, exploring love, loneliness, and identity with newfound openness. This album marked a turning point, signaling Tyler’s maturation both as an artist and an individual, while also drawing broader acclaim and Grammy nominations. Igor (2019) followed, solidifying Tyler’s reputation as a genre-bending artist who could infuse storytelling, character-driven narratives, and lush production into his music. The album won him his first Grammy for Best Rap Album, even though it defied traditional rap conventions, mixing hip-hop with soul, synth-pop, and funk influences. This conceptual album introduced a character—Igor—through whom Tyler explored themes of heartbreak and acceptance, marking a sophisticated artistic evolution. In 2021, Tyler released Call Me If You Get Lost, a more traditional hip-hop album in structure, yet still infused with his signature style. The album took listeners on a globe-trotting journey through the lens of “Tyler Baudelaire,” a persona inspired by the romantic wanderings and existential musings of Charles Baudelaire. Winning his second Grammy for Best Rap Album, it reinforced Tyler’s standing as one of the most versatile, boundary-pushing figures in contemporary music. In 2024, Tyler released his latest album, Chromakopia, a deeply personal project exploring themes of self-discovery, love, and growth. Reflecting on his life at age 33, Tyler described Chromakopia as his “therapy record.” With 14 tracks, the album features collaborations with artists like Daniel Caesar, Childish Gambino, Lil Wayne, and ScHoolboy Q, adding richness and variety to the project. Tracks such as “St. Chroma” and “I Killed You” reveal Tyler’s introspective side, while tracks like “Rah Tah Tah” and “Judge Judy” lean into his darker humor and playful bravado. The album showcases a more contemplative Tyler, who revisits themes of identity and aging with a newfound maturity. Tyler, as always, handled the production, using samples from a diverse range of influences, from Zambian rock to the funk of James Brown. In line with his desire to do things on his terms, Tyler chose an unconventional Monday release for Chromakopia, encouraging fans to listen fully awake and undistracted. Leading up to the release, he shared noir-inspired music videos, capturing the album’s reflective, self-aware tone. He also hosted an intimate listening event in Los Angeles, where he discussed how themes of family, aging, and introspection influenced his work. With a world tour planned for 2025, Chromakopia is yet another example of Tyler’s willingness to push boundaries while remaining deeply personal. Beyond music, Tyler has made a significant impact in fashion. His style, much like his music, is eclectic, unpredictable, and rooted in individuality. His first major foray into fashion came with his streetwear brand, Golf Wang, in 2011. Golf Wang’s designs reflect Tyler’s playful approach to fashion, featuring bold colors, unique patterns, and graphic designs that appeal to his fanbase’s sense of fun and rebellion. Initially inspired by the DIY ethos of skate culture, Golf Wang evolved from its early graphic-heavy hoodies and tees into a more sophisticated brand, with pieces ranging from brightly colored polos to tailored pants. In 2017, Tyler expanded his fashion footprint by launching Golf le Fleur, a sub-label under Golf Wang that began as a collaboration with Converse. The partnership produced a series of shoes that reimagined Converse’s classic silhouettes with Tyler’s signature pastel tones and floral designs. Golf le Fleur quickly gained popularity, appealing to a wider audience that extended beyond his music fans. Since then, Golf le Fleur has expanded into a full lifestyle brand, offering everything from shoes and apparel to fragrances, nail polish, and accessories. The brand reflects Tyler’s evolution from rebellious provocateur to a more refined, multidimensional artist, echoing his growth in music. Tyler’s style and his approach to fashion are often credited with influencing trends in streetwear, especially the use of bright, unconventional colors in men’s fashion. Known for mixing high-end pieces with vintage finds, he’s been recognized as a style icon who challenges traditional masculine norms, incorporating elements of retro and avant-garde fashion. His impact extends beyond the clothes he designs—Tyler’s unique look has become a staple at major fashion events, where he stands out with his characteristic playfulness and bold choices. In recent years, Tyler’s involvement in fashion has intersected with his music career, as seen in the visual aesthetics of his albums. From Flower Boy’s floral motifs to Igor’s pastel color palette, Tyler’s visual style is as much a part of his identity as his music. For Chromakopia, he adopted a darker, more minimalist aesthetic, aligning with the album’s introspective and reflective themes. Tyler, the Creator’s journey reflects a relentless commitment to authenticity, both in his art and personal style. Whether he’s challenging hip-hop conventions, experimenting with fashion, or exploring his own personal growth, Tyler’s influence on music, fashion, and culture is undeniable. With Chromakopia, he continues to break new ground, offering fans a window into his evolving perspective on life, art, and self-discovery. This has been a Quiet Please production. When an artist comes up as quickly as Paul Arcane, the electronic music world stops and listens. Gripped by his energetic, euphoric melodies, an eager fan base has answered with support from across the globe.

Paul Arcane’s tireless work ethic more than justifies his early success. In three short years he released an astounding 40+ songs on labels like Elliptical Sun Recordings and Enhanced Progressive. His meteoric trajectory has even registered on @aboveandbeyond's radar. The iconic trio enlisted him to contribute a guest mix for an episode of their world-renowned radio show, Group Therapy.

Growing up in Viña del Mar, Chile posed unique career challenges for Paul Arcane. Dominated by styles other than trance, the city’s electronic music scene did not provide the ideal nightlife climate for a trance artist to thrive. Unrelenting, he was determined not to let it cloud his creative vision.
Shortly after debuting as a DJ in 2015, he began learning how to produce music. A natural from the get go, he honed his skills on a handful of remixes before his first label release. His rendition of Dennis Sheperd’s “Fight Your Fears” arrived by way of Black Hole Recordings sub label A Tribute To Life in 2016.

Paul Arcane passed another major milestone later that year. His first EP went by the title Renaissance / Vision and came out on Elliptical Sun Recordings. Not only did the release find its way onto Above & Beyond: Group Therapy (ABGT), but @arminvanbuuren also supported it on his A State Of Trance (ASOT) radio show.

Between late 2016 and early 2018 he delivered a wealth of originals and remixes - not the least of which were his collaborations with Polish duo Sodality. Despite having been released far apart from one another, “Alpha,” “Beta” and “Gamma” each made for standout singles.

2018 marked the year that Paul Arcane truly came into his own as a world-class music producer. In addition to his highly anticipated ABGT guest mix, he made his Enhanced Progressive debut with a Dani Avramov collaboration titled “Glow.” He followed it up with his ASOT-supported single “Transcend,” and soon afterwards the aptly titled “Everest.” As one might expect, what seemed like a career peak (at the time he wrote the latter track) would soon be eclipsed by even greater accomplishments out on the horizon.

His determination to see every project through has earned Paul Arcane such an admirable résumé. Whereas a typical producer sits on countless works in progress, he adheres to a strict personal policy of finishing every song on which he starts working. At the core of his diligence lies the philosophy that the more we create the better our world will be, which he hopes to foster in everyone touched by his music.

Considering how much he’s accomplished in such a short span of time, a bright future awaits Paul Arcane indeed. However, as far as the trance community is concerned he’s already arrived.

  • The Eurovision Song Contest, the world's largest and most beloved international song competition, is set to captivate audiences once again in 2024. This year, the event will take place in the picturesque city of Malmö, Sweden, following the nation's triumphant victory at the 2023 contest. Loreen, the Swedish singer who first won Eurovision in 2012 with her hit song "Euphoria," secured Sweden's seventh victory with her powerful and emotionally charged performance of "Tattoo."
Malmö, a vibrant coastal city known for its cultural diversity and rich musical heritage, is eagerly preparing to welcome the 68th edition of Eurovision. The contest will span five days, commencing on May 7th and culminating in a spectacular grand finale on May 11th at the state-of-the-art Malmö Arena. This impressive venue, which has previously hosted the contest in 2013, boasts a seating capacity of 15,500 and promises to provide an unforgettable experience for both performers and spectators alike.
One of the most notable aspects of the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest is the participation of a record-breaking 37 countries. This year marks a significant milestone as Luxembourg returns to the competition after a 31-year absence. The small but culturally rich nation last participated in 1993 and is excited to showcase its musical talents once again on the grand stage. However, fans will miss the presence of Romania, which has decided to withdraw from the contest this year.
As anticipation builds for the event, the Eurovision Song Contest has not been without its share of controversy. The participation of Israel has been a topic of heated debate, given the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. The European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the organization behind Eurovision, has faced criticism for allowing Israel to compete amidst the political turmoil. In response to these concerns, the EBU and Swedish authorities have announced heightened security measures to ensure the safety of all participants and attendees.
Despite the challenges, the spirit of Eurovision remains strong, and the contest continues to unite people through the power of music. The theme for the 2024 edition, "Embrace the Melody," reflects the event's ability to bring together diverse cultures, languages, and musical styles. The logo for this year's contest features a vibrant, colorful design inspired by the traditional Swedish folk art of Dala painting, symbolizing the country's rich cultural heritage and the joyous nature of the competition.
To helm this momentous event, the organizers have enlisted the talents of two exceptional hosts. Hollywood star Malin Åkerman, known for her roles in films such as "Watchmen" and "27 Dresses," will bring her charisma and international appeal to the stage. Åkerman, who was born in Sweden and maintains a strong connection to her roots, expressed her excitement at the opportunity to showcase her homeland to a global audience. Joining her will be Petra Mede, a beloved Eurovision veteran who previously hosted the contest in 2013 and 2016. Mede's quick wit, comedic timing, and multilingual skills have made her a fan favorite, and her return to the Eurovision stage has been met with widespread enthusiasm.
As the countdown to the contest begins, the city of Malmö is gearing up for a celebration like no other. The Eurovision Village, located at the picturesque Folkets Park, will serve as the heart of the festivities. This sprawling outdoor space will be transformed into a vibrant hub of music, food, and cultural experiences. Visitors can expect live performances from local and international artists, as well as interactive exhibits showcasing the history and impact of Eurovision. The park will also feature a dedicated family area, offering engaging activities and workshops for children and parents alike.
For those seeking a more intimate and exclusive experience, the EuroClub at Malmö Live Congress and Concert Hall will be the place to be. This chic venue will host a series of special events and performances throughout the week, catering to delegates, artists, and VIP guests. From intimate acoustic sessions to glamorous after-parties, the EuroClub promises to be a hotspot for networking and celebrating the spirit of Eurovision.
In a groundbreaking move, the organizers have also announced the introduction of Eurovision Street, a new addition to the festivities. This vibrant thoroughfare will be located in the heart of Malmö and will offer a tantalizing array of food stalls, representing the diverse culinary traditions of the participating countries. Visitors can indulge in traditional Swedish delicacies like meatballs and lingonberry jam, or sample exotic flavors from across Europe and beyond. The street will also feature impromptu musical performances and flash mobs, adding to the lively and immersive atmosphere.
As the participating countries begin to unveil their chosen artists and songs, speculation is rife about who will take home the coveted glass microphone trophy. Will Loreen's powerhouse vocals secure another victory for Sweden, or will a dark horse emerge from the pack? Fans are eagerly dissecting the entries, analyzing lyrics, and choreography, and engaging in lively debates on social media platforms.
The Eurovision Song Contest has always been more than just a musical competition; it is a celebration of unity, diversity, and the power of art to transcend borders. In a world often divided by political and cultural differences, Eurovision serves as a reminder that music has the ability to bring people together, fostering understanding and appreciation for one another's unique perspectives and experiences.
As the 2024 contest approaches, the eyes of the world will be on Malmö, and the city is determined to put on a show that will be remembered for years to come. The local authorities have been working tirelessly to ensure that the event runs smoothly, from managing logistics and security to promoting the city's cultural attractions and business opportunities.
Malmö's selection as the host city is a testament to its thriving creative scene and its commitment to sustainability. The city has set ambitious goals to become carbon-neutral by 2030 and has implemented a range of initiatives to reduce its environmental impact. The Eurovision Song Contest 2024 will showcase these efforts, with the organizers pledging to make the event as eco-friendly as possible. From reducing waste and promoting recycling to using renewable energy sources, the contest will serve as a model for sustainable event management.
The economic benefits of hosting Eurovision are also significant, with the event expected to generate millions of euros in revenue for the city and the surrounding region. Hotels, restaurants, and local businesses are gearing up for an influx of visitors, and the international exposure generated by the contest is likely to boost tourism and investment in the years to come.
As the final preparations are made and the stage is set, the anticipation is palpable. Fans from around the world are booking their flights and accommodations, eager to be a part of this historic event. The participating artists are fine-tuning their performances, determined to make their mark on the Eurovision stage and capture the hearts of millions of viewers.
When the first notes of the opening ceremony ring out across the Malmö Arena, the world will be watching, united in a shared love of music and a celebration of the human spirit. The Eurovision Song Contest 2024 promises to be a dazzling display of talent, creativity, and passion, showcasing the best of what Europe and beyond have to offer.
As the contest unfolds, there will be moments of joy and heartbreak, triumph and disappointment. But through it all, the message of Eurovision will shine through: that music has the power to unite us, to inspire us, and to help us see the world through each other's eyes.
In a time of uncertainty and change, the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 offers a beacon of hope and a reminder of the enduring power of art to bring people together. As the final notes of the winning song fade away and the confetti rains down on the stage, the world will be left with a renewed sense of connection and a shared determination to build a brighter future, one song at a time.
