Finfinee News Network (FNN) is established to ameliorate the scarcity in independent mass
media focusing on Oromo struggle and Oromo related issues. Historically, the Oromo have
been silenced and denied freedom of speech. The successive Ethiopian regimes and
Ethiopian media including some Oromo media that promote Ethiopia at the cost of Oromia
have continued to deny the Oromo mass any voice. Specifically, there is a systematic denial
of attention to Oromo’s struggle for self-determination. The plight of those spearheading
Oromo’s struggle for self-determination has been intentionally hidden and they are denied
