  • On today’s episode of The Therapy Crouch, Abbey and Peter are back in Blighty and giving their full Dubai debrief.

In classic Abbey fashion, no time has been wasted and she has got right back on the horse, quite literally by making a rather pony purchase for her and the kids, which Pete has a rather surprising reaction too.

We also hear about their recent antics at the waterpark, which Abbey found the courage to brave and we hear just why the big man could not resist that not-so-lazy river!

In the weekly whine club, the gang addresses one of our listeners who is beginning to feel revolted by their partners hygiene habits as well as another listener whose Uber rating is driving her round the bend.]

Stay tuned for the end where Agony Ab where we have one of our favourite messages this year from an expectant mother who is forced to deal with her nosey, nerdy neighbours….

  • On today’s episode of The Therapy Crouch, Abbey and Peter are taking a look at some of their favourite romantic movies of all time and debunking some of the myths that these films tell you about finding that fairytale ending!

In a wild turn of events, Abbey sets her sights on the nation’s favourite singleton and gives her take on why she got away with a lot more than she would in real life. From the Titanic to the Notebook, there are no films off limits and Abbey and Pete have an hilarious insight for all of them.

In the weekly whine club, we hear from a rather ungrateful girlfriend who has been less than impressed with her boyfriend’s recent attempts at DIY as well as our very own chocolate tea hack that is going to change the game forever.

Agony Ab is also on hand to give advice to the nation - specifically from those of you who are suffering from slovenly partners and selfish parents who have decided they don’t want to be babysitting your newborn!

All this and much more, only on, The Therapy Crouch!

Joining me today are the parents of Oscar Keogh and the founders of Oscar Kids a charity creating magic moments for those with a palliative care or terminal diagnosis.  - Yavanna  and Lar Keogh.

Oscar was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour, when he was 3 and a half and left this world with all his mischievous love on the 29th July 2019.

During his illness his parents decided to live and find magic in everyday.

This was the beginning of helping other families to have these moments with their terminally ill children too.

Here we celebrate Oscar, and the legacy he has left through Oscars Kids, but we also talk about grief, about navigating this world after losing a child, how Yavanna and Lar found the motivation to turn this grief into support for others while also acknowledging the toll it takes as they heal their own hearts while witnessing so many other families go through the same.

Grief is not linear. There is no formula.

    And time, doesn’t necessarily heal.

But talking helps and that is what we did.

  • Before I start this week's guest intro, I just want to flag that this episode is a very emotional one and might not be a comfortable listen for anyone in the early stages of grief, as it deals with the loss of a child.

My amazing and brave guest for this episode is Eileen Loughlin. Eileen is a mother of four gorgeous children, from ages 20 all the way to just two years old. Five and a half years ago, Eileen and her family's life was turned upside down when a tragic accident at their home led to the death of their youngest child at the time Annabel, who was just 3 and a half when she passed away. Eileen talks to me today about Annabel's short but happy life, her grieving process, the support that has seen her through and her hopes for her three living children as they move through their lives. She also tells me that there are plans in motion for a way to remember Annabel and build a legacy through which she can live on in memory. A gut-wrenching listen for me as the mother of a child the same age as Annabel, but for anyone experiencing loss, this could be a really helpful and hopeful episode. I'll be back next week with more.

  • In the first episode of Season Two, Susan talks to friend Ingrid Tuite about making a happy life with husband Dave, only to lose him to a sudden, unexplained and fatal illness. From processing such a life-grenade, rebuilding, finding love again and never taking anything or anyone for granted, Ingrid will lift up your spirits with her bravery and ability to smile again.

  • **TW Suicide and Sexual Abuse**

On today’s episode I speak with Sinéad Keane. Sinéad is owner of Remember Who You are, a holistic therapy clinic based in Limerick. Today she talks to me about the life and death her lovely Dad, Joe.

Sinéad’s Dad died by suicide when she was just in her early twenties, and her grief rocked her completely and utterly to the core.

Today we talk about how primal grief actually is, the ancient Irish tradition of Keening, and how her grief has led her to a greater understanding of pain, lightness and life.

Sinéad is currently working on transforming a piece of ancestral land in West Limerick, where she envisions hosting healing gatherings. If you would like to support this, you can donate at the following link: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=EXPTTBCRSJU6G

  • Topics covered : Childhood cancer, grief, perspective, gratitude.

In this episode I speak to Roseanna Ruane about her wonderful daughter Saoírse who sadly passed away in March this year.

We spoke a few weeks ago and in this heart-breaking conversation she talks about Saoirse, the kind and wise girl that she was, from her first cancer diagnosis when she was only 7 years old and how devastating life has been since she passed away.

She talks about how much she believes in being grateful for what we have in life, and the importance in making memories.

Saoirse was only 12 years old when she left this world but she left her mark in the most beautiful way.

Roseanna lives in Galway with her husband Ollie, their daughter Farrah Rose and their much loved dog Willow.

If you have been affected by this episode, please go to Grief & loss helplines in Ireland (findahelpline.com) for a list of resources that might be beneficial.

And if you want to contact Roseanna, you can find her on Instagram (@saoirseandmamma) or if you want her to speak at an event, you can email her [email protected]

Roseanna uses their page to spread awareness about childhood cancer, limb loss, fertility and grief and her wish is to continue to speak about their experience in the hope that it might give people perspective on what's important in life.

I’ll be taking a quick break from the pod but I'll be back again with more conversations in September. In the meantime, you can dive back into over 180 episodes and if you’re a fan of what I do, please follow, rate and review in all the usual places, I'd really appreciate it.

  • Happy Therapy Crouch release day! In this week’s episode Abbey and Peter talk about their rather eventful Easter break spent with their nearest and dearest….as well as their four kids.

With Pete pondering why the little ones get such a long time off for Easter when Jesus himself only took 3 days, Abbey lets loose on some of their less-than-wholesome strolls in the park and trips to the beach.

During Weekly Whine Club, Pete’s shortcomings on all things technology based are exposed and we hear from one of our listeners whose husband is left rather unimpressed by one of her morning rituals.

In Agony Ab, we hear how one of our dear listeners is planning on throwing the wedding of a lifetime with his boyhood passion taking front and centre stage, and what to do when your gut feeling is telling you there is something wrong in the relationship.

We hope you enjoy this weeks episode of The Therapy Crouch!

  • In today’s episode of The Therapy Crouch, by popular demand, Abbey opens the door on what helped shape her career as one of Britain’s Next Top Models.

It’s safe to say this journey was not all plain sailing, with plenty of high points, low points and laughs along the way.

We also hear Pete’s opinions on the change in power dynamic once you put a ring on it and why ‘Airport Ab’ is a force to be reckoned with on a family holiday.

The nation’s favourite agony aunts are also on hand to give advice on what to do if you pass gas in front of your in-laws and reveal why a tattoo on someone’s ‘Theatre of dreams’ may not be all it is cracked up to be.

  • In today's episode of The Therapy Crouch, Abbey and Peter are recovering from their recent getaway for a friend's 30th birthday party.

Having friend's 10-15 years younger than you when you're approaching the wrong side of 40 clearly takes it toll. Although we do hear about how hangover days without kids running round the house can hit another level as well as the tricks and techniques you can do to keep up with the young ones.

As always, our loyal listeners have been in touch with their relationship trials and tribulations and, as always, Agony Ab is on hand to give some questionable advice, including what to do when you’ve only been blessed with bee stings for boobs and the risks involved when sending your fella for a Turkey Teeth job.
