Topics covered : Cancer, Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), control the controllables, shift in perspective, healthy body and mind, affirmations, positive self talk, appreciation.
Alannah Sheehan lives in Tipperary with her husband Martin and their 3 children, Finn (9), Luca (7) and Phoebe (5).
And 5 years ago when Phoebe was only a few months old, Alannah was diagnosed with Glioblastoma multiforme, an aggressive type of brain cancer.
But today, 5 years on, she’s healthy and happy and even though she still has to go for regular scans and deal with the stress and anxiety that goes with that, ultimately, life is good.
We spoke 4 years ago but I wanted to chat to her again as she is so inspiring.
In this conversation she talks about the power of taking control over what you can control and nourishing your body and mind, every day.
Alannah was a chef before her diagnosis and food is her passion. Her go to juice is celery, cucumber and lemon and she drinks it every day.
You can subscribe to Alannah’s ‘Survive and Thrive’ membership to gain access to her delicious recipes, and you can also purchase her gorgeous wellness cards too.

Listen to our main podcast here.
Nicola Hanney has survived stage 4 breast cancer twice. In her book Stronger, she discusses her cancer journey and since then, she's been asked to dive deeper into the topic. So today, we sit down to have a real heart to heart. We hope you enjoy!

It's part 2 of my conversation with Nicola Hanney. Please listen to the first part of our conversation on Apple or Spotify
Nicola met Garda Paul Moody in 2017. Just before meeting him, she survived a stage 4 cancer diagnosis and was beginning to rebuild her life. After months of dating, Paul began to show signs of abuse, using threats and violence to control her. The abuse got so bad that over 14 hours in July 2018, Nicola received 652 messages from Paul. In July 2022, Paul Moody was sentenced to three years in prison for coercive control—becoming one of the first in the State to be convicted of this type of abuse.

Sarah Corbett Lynch is my guest on The Good Glow today. At 3.15am on August 2nd 2015, eight year old Sarah was lifted from her bed by a Davidson Country police officer and carried downstairs shielded from the chaos that had broken out around her. Hours passed before Sarah learned that her dad Jason was dead. And the people who killed him were Sarah’s stepmother Molly Martens and her father Tom.
It’s a story that has gripped the nation for many years and today Sarah tells her story about her life in North Carolina with her Dad, Molly, and her brother Jack, and the truth about what her life was like behind closed doors.

Many of you will know who she is... Nicola Hanney joins me on the podcast today. She survived domestic abuse at the hands of her ex, and her book Stronger: What Didn’t Kill Me Made Me is a number one bestseller.

Sometimes you have to just power through the self-loathing. Doing stand up comedy has helped Joanne McNally build resilience, take responsibility, and not take things so personally.
In this chat, Fearne and Joanne share experiences of being hyper-independent; but can trusting and relying on yourself go too far? They chat about learning to delegate and ask for help too.
Joanne was adopted as a baby, and she opens up about the process of piecing her identity together when she met her birth parents. Are you able to find the funny in distressing periods of your life? Joanne points out that in taking the piss out of yourself you ultimately have to take accountability for your own part in a difficult situation.
Plus, Fearne and Joanne make some big admissions about their own pelvic floor health...

Hi!
We’re back again for another scandal summer special, and this time, we’re reminiscing on the Brangelina story. This is the Jen, Brad, and Ange series. Brad and Angelina? They were the golden couple, then the power couple, and then… it all came crashing down. The fallout? It’s still ongoing, and we’ve got the updates for you.
Big thanks to Betty’s Burgers for making this episode of Shameless possible.

Hello!
On today’s show: former One Direction star Liam Payne has died, so how do we make sense of his death as both a beloved teen idol as well as a man accused of inflicting pain on women? And then, the Victoria’s Secret fashion show is back! So what did we make of the spectacle?
This week, Zara recommended Sunday Sports Club with Alison Kuch. Mich recommended Mr Big from ABC Podcasts: new Unravelled series.
This episode was audio produced by Eilish Gilligan.

Where does Chat GPT get off? Yet again, it's taking shots at the expense of this podcast and it's not on. Joanne, still in Cape Town, has a great idea for Valentines Day and Vogue stacked it on a run in the park. Plus, an embarrassing encounter, J-Lo & Kevin Costner and the wonderful Gearóid Farrelly on Dancing with the Stars!

Vogue & Joanne decide that the best time to identify each other's red flags is whilst the mics are live and the pod is recording. WHY NOT?! Plus, a devilishly sweet revenge story and a troubling email from a girl with some very legitimate concerns.

There are more updates from Joanne in Cape Town this week. They are as fantastic as you'd imagine. Meanwhile, back in the UK, Vogue might have some explaining to do to her kids. Plus, the Wandsworth Prison scandal, the Brad Pitt scam & where Vogue's uncanny impression of Sandra came from.

Joanne went to a very fancy restaurant this week, but she and Vogue agree that when it gets too fancy, it's a bit much. Plus, a husband who didn't deserve the heat and some advice from a listener who might actually be onto something!
