Off the pitch, Marcus Rashford is still leading a campaign to end child hunger. Hundreds of cafes, restaurants and businesses across the country are taking on the challenge themselves to help feed children during the upcoming October half-term after the government voted against continuing free school meals into the holidays. He's a national hero. On the pitch, it was Rashford who came up with a powerful and accurate late strike to give Manchester United a sweet and brilliant victory at the Parc des Princes against Paris Saint-Germain. He almost followed it up with another match-winner, against Chelsea on Saturday evening. But the Londoners new goalkeeper Edouard Mendy came up big with two crucial saves and United were held to a 0-0 draw at Old Trafford.
It's been a good week overall for United. A 4-1 win against Newcastle, a 2-1 win against PSG and a frustrating 0-0 draw against Chelsea. Perhaps the latter is a missed chance to carry on some very good momentum. But United's season has properly started now. Welcome to the Manchester United Weekly Podcast and S6 E7. We're talking PSG, Chelsea and looking ahead to RB Leipzig and Arsenal. In the middle of the show we'll have our youth, loan and women's round-up as the U23s are led once again by recently turned 17 Joe Hugill who has had a sensational start to his United career.
