LOOK OUT! It’s only Films To Be Buried With!
Join your host Brett Goldstein as he talks life, death, love and the universe with the host of Turner Classic Movies and all round movie head BEN MANKIEWICZ!
TCM is a channel that some non-US folk might not be familiar with, but for those who are it's an institution. Ben is a long term host at the channel, but has a huge amount of dealings elsewhere in the cinematic universe too. If that hasn't hooked you in, you might be keen to learn he is the grandson of the screenwriter of Citizen Kane who was the subject of the fairly recent movie 'Mank'. So you're in safe hands right here, essentially. Ben has a ton to say about a lot of movies that haven't been explored that much on the podcast, but it's also really interesting to hear about TCM and how it's affected his own life. A really fascinating guest for a truly engaging episode - enjoy!

On the Season 2 premiere of The Video Archives Podcast, Quentin & Roger catch their train -- but only by a Narrow Margin. Once comfortably in their cabin, they'll chat about where Gene Hackman and Anne Archer were in their careers, the gender role dynamics of the characters, and how their initial viewing of this movie influenced the future of film forever. Remember, folks: between the viewer and a film there is only ... a Narrow Margin.
Then, on Patreon, Roger and Quentin continue the conversation with two more tapes pulled from the shelves of Video Archives. Next up is The "Human" Factor. Quentin and Roger chat about the important place this revengeamatic sits in the genre, a brief lesson on director Edward Dmytryk, and discuss the show stopping last ten minutes that need to be seen to be believed. Lastly, the guys head on over to Riverside, where the street violence is so out of control that we've no doubt reached the Killpoint. Featuring actors such as Leo Fong, Richard Roundtree, Cameron Mitchell, and Stack Pierce — you know this movie has Video Archives written all over it!

SCREAM Drafts 2024 comes to a shocking conclusion as Screen Drafts Legend Bryan Cogman (Game of Thrones) is joined by B.J. Colangelo (This Ends at Prom) and Chris Hewitt (Empire Magazine) to rank the 13 (oooo scary) best HORROR films made by HAMMER studios in the CLASSIC era!
-
It's week three of SCEAM Drafts VII and out-of-towners Josh Larsen (Filmspotting) and Joe George (Den of Geek) broke down in Draftland, so we tied them to the draft table and made them rank the 7 best RURAL HORROR films ever made!

LOOK OUT! It’s only Films To Be Buried With!
Join your host Brett Goldstein as he talks life, death, love and the universe with the brillant actor, music maker and film maker ALEX WOLFF!
As a quick short-hand for regular listeners of the podcast who want a quick face to a name, Alex played Peter in FTBBW classic Hereditary (the whole episode is practically built on a foundation of spoilers so watch that first if it's on your "to do" list!). However, Alex is known for so much more! You might know him from The Naked Brothers Band in a younger time, or perhaps more recently A Quiet Place: Day One, or the Jumanji updates. It is a genuine pleasure to know that he's a total film nerd and it's a really fun and funny hang with these two - pure joy and as said, frequent Hereditary spoilers (but context clues will help you if you don't know the film or are not a horror fan). Enjoy! You will!

LOOK OUT! It’s only Films To Be Buried With!
Join your host Brett Goldstein as he talks life, death, love and the universe with the absolute film-making legend JASON REITMAN!
Jason's cinematic output over the last 20 years or more is undeniable, and you will have no doubt seen AT LEAST one of his movies and loved it. Maybe quoted it. Maybe re-enacted a scene or two... It's a fabulous thing then to hear this chat with he and Brett and confirm that Jason is indeed every single bit as film nerdy as you would have hoped. But also genuinely entertaining - these worlds are not mutually exclusive! It's a pleasure to hear about all the elements that make up who Jason is, including literally growing up on the Warner Brothers lot, loving comedians, depicting the pleasure of work in films, community of cinema, his father Ivan (some incredible history you'll hear there), surrender, James Acaster, and among so much more, the choreography and design of his new film Saturday Night! Oh and bonus shout to the Prince Charles Cinema too. A delight of an episode, you shall enjoy.

LOOK OUT! It’s only Films To Be Buried With!
Join your host Brett Goldstein as he talks life, death, love and the universe with the excellent actor who - for those less familiar - played Pacey in Dawson's Creek, it's JOSHUA JACKSON!
Of course, it would be unfair to limit his notoreity to a single character in one show, but for many of us it was a massive TV event in a time when the media landscape and viewing habits were simply very different to what they are now, so pretty much we all saw it! If your knowledge of him were to end there, well, you'll be happy to know he's been entirely busy since and remains a pure ray of light. This episode rules, and Joshua shows up wonderfully. It handles the funny, the serious, and the existential, all with grace and energy, and will leave you wanting to repeat the whole thing when you get to the end. Topics in the hopper include timeframes as a younger person, positive homesickness, Vancouver, the tough and weird experience of being so famous so young, love of the longform series, having kids and five year plans? Nahhh... Awesome stuff. You shall enjoy. I don't wanna wait EITHER!

LOOK OUT! It’s only Films To Be Buried With!
Join your host Brett Goldstein as he talks life, death, love and the universe with let's just say it like it is, national treasure, DAVID MORRISSEY!
David is a true champ in film and TV, with a varied and awesome collection of roles in the industry and a whole bunch on the horizon too... As such, David knows what's what, as you will hear clearly on this fantastic and fun episode with a ton of the usual behind the scenes goodness - and as always, not just the studio scenes. It's continually amazing how interlinked the cinematic and let's say 'real' worlds are, and how they reflect and work with how our own heads and imaginations do. This episode is more evidence of how powerful it all is and how meaningful it can all be. ENJOY!
