  • Welcome to Military Murder’s first international case out of Canada. This case made headlines in 2010. A Canadian Air Force Colonel burglarized countless homes, wore his victims’ underwear, and stalked his neighbors while they slept...but he wanted more. Once burglary no longer quenched his thirst, his actions turned deadly. But for the keen interrogation by the Canadian investigators, this man would have been able to camouflage himself because of his status and rank. Dig in with Margot as she discusses the case against Canadian Air Force Colonel Russell Williams.

  • In the Spring of 2000, the Thackers, Holli & Tracy decided to call it quits on their marriage. Tracy Thacker, a Marine veteran filed for divorce. He noted irreconcilable differences and the fact that a paternity test revealed he was not Maylyn Thacker’s father.

A few months later after weeks of fighting with his wife, Holli, Tracy did the unthinkable. After a fight with his wife over custody issues and school pickup, Tracy checked out the kids from school early. Under “reason” for early check-out he write, “Pay Back.” The school never bothered to check the reason until it was far too late.

  • Vanessa Reiser was love bombed by her narcissistic ex in such an extravagant manner--like being showered with expensive gifts, to expensive cars, to a $150,000 engagement ring, and travels across the world. She didn't have time to breathe, much less clock in the red flags happening left and right. Vanessa is a therapist and works hard today to raise awareness to narcissistic spousal abuse, and started a movement by running 285 miles across the state of New York to raise awareness to their cause. Listen and learn how Vanessa was able to come up for air, evaluate and understand her situation and how she separated herself from the man that first swept her off her feet.

Vanessa is licensed in NY, NJ, MA & FL and made international headlines when she ran the entire state of New York in a wedding dress to raise awareness for narcissistic abuse in May 2021. Her days are spent supporting those traumatized by this insidious form of domestic violence.

  • In June 1993, 16-year old Christina Menzies was out and about like a typical teenager. Earlier in the day she attended a fair on Gutersloh RAF, Germany. Later in the evening, she ended the night at Club 47 – a club located on the base. But this was the last time she was seen alive.
Christina’s remains were later found 10 km from the base. A British soldier was arrested and tried for her murder, but what happened at the Royal Armed Forces Court-Martial shocked the Menzies family.

  • Lavena Johnson was a smart, witty woman, born and raised in Missouri. Her senior year of high school she decided she would join the Army in an effort to not burden her parents with out of state tuition for college. Although Dr. Johnson (Lavena’s dad), begged her not to join the Army – she did so anyway. She thought the Army was a good deal – you serve your country a few years and then you get 4 years of college paid!

Recruiters promised her she would likely not deploy, even though in 2004 there was an uptick in deployed troops.

Lavina kicked butt as a woman in the military – especially in bootcamp, serving as an example to men and women. She made her family so proud. She went on to her first duty assignment and within a few months she was notified she’d be deploying to Iraq. As a communications troop – it didn’t seem like a bad deal – she’d be staying inside the wire.

But within 6 weeks of being in Iraq, her parents received the dreaded knock on the door – their daughter Lavena L. Johnson was dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Say what now? Not Lavena! She would never kill herself! She had just spoken to her parents and was excited to be home for the holidays! She was a week shy of her 20th birthday – it just didn’t make sense.

Lavena’s family would soon find out that things aren’t always what they seem, but once the Army said Lavena committed suicide, it would take an act of Congress to get any concrete evidence that might show Lavena was actually murdered.

A review of the facts make you wonder, was Lavena’s death really a suicide or a military cover up?

Dig in with Margot as she discusses the most requested Military Murder case to date.

  • On August 17, 2020, Elder Fernandes was released from a hospital. He had spent 6 days hospitalized for unknown reasons. One of his military coworkers picked him up and dropped Elder off at his home on the 2700 block of Woodlands Drive in Killeen, Texas. Elder was then never seen again.

On August 18, 2020, Elder failed to report to work, although his car was found in the parking lot of his work place on Fort Hood.

By Wednesday, August 19, 2020, after not hearing from Elder since Sunday, Elder’s family was very concerned and his mother flew from Massachusetts to Texas to search for Elder.

Since his disappearance, Fort Hood officials have released 4 press releases informing the public that they are doing everything in their power to find Elder. However, they do not suspect foul play in his disappearance. They have allegedly spoken to various soldiers that make it seem as though Elder left of his own accord.

However, according to his family, immediately before his disappearance, Elder had been the victim of abusive sexual touching. He had filed an unrestricted report with the SHARP and his leadership even moved Elder to a new unit because Elder had been complaining of bullying and being belittled.

It’s unclear if Elder’s disappearance is related to his sexual abuse allegation, or if it’s connected with his hospitalization, but his family and the Army and Killeen PD need YOUR help.

Dig in with Margot as she discusses the most recent disappearance at Fort Hood – that of Sergeant Elder Fernandes.
    -----

If you have any information, however small, pertaining to Elder’s case or pertaining to someone Elder knew who is now acting weird, please reach out to the Killeen PD at 254-526-8477. You can also contact Army CID at 254-28702722.

  • In 1974, five people were held at a local HiFi shop at gun point, as a few men raided the store of all of its audio equipment. The five people were Carol Naisbitt, Cortney Naisbitt, Orren Walker, Stanley Walker, and Michelle Ansley. The captives plead for their lives – telling the perpetrators to take everything they wanted but to spare them their lives.

However, what occurred in the HiFi basement was something out of a horror movie. Some of the victims were executed, some of the victims were tortured, and a few victims lived to tell the tale that would haunt the small sleepy community of Ogden, Utah for the last few decades.

Dig in with Margot as she discusses the most horrific crime in Utah history. This is the story of the HiFi murders.

  • I am taking you back to the 90s to a moment when times seemed simpler. In 1993, Lorena Bobbitt (24), the wife of Marine Veteran, John Wayne Bobbitt (26), decided to take matters into her own hands. She was sick and tired of living under the thumb of her abusive husband. He had slapped her, hit her, verbally abused her, and raped her over and over again. She took a kitchen knife...and well, you'll have to listen to the episode to see how this story ends.

Dig in with Margot as she takes you through a roller coaster of emotions. And listen until the end, because after the final credits, I discuss 2 non-military penis amputation cases that give this one a run for its money!

  • In 1994, Air Force Technical Sergeant Edward Zakrzewski seemed to be living the dream – he was taking college classes at night, had one more year before getting his degree – he was working at Eglin AFB, he had a beautiful wife, Sylvia, and two kids – a boy (Edward) and a girl (Anna).

But like every picture-perfect family – there was turmoil, and talks about divorce made Edward uneasy. So much so, that when his son called him at work on June 9th, 1994, Edward came up with a plan. Execute the entire family. Then flee the continental United States.

But a true crime staple from the 90s – UNSOLVED MYSTERIES – would lead to his demise – as it didn’t matter where he went, he couldn’t hide from the ever-popular show.

  • This is a BREAKING NEWS STORY and is still developing. On October 11, 2020, Captain Malcolm Perry died after his car flipped and rolled and caught fire. Police on scene originally thought the fiery crash and subsequent death were the result of a car accident gone terribly wrong. But during the next few days, they would uncover a story so far-fetched, it seemed like a scene out of the movie – Fast and Furious. Captain Clevy Nelson-Royster and Richard Sennessie were subsequently arrested and charged with Malcolm’s murder.
