This week we cannonball into the 90s with the help of music critic Abby Jones, who walks us through The Breeders' classic record Last Splash, and if you want better writing than this sentence provides, you can check out her work at https://www.abbyfjones.com/
Also up for splashscussion (that's discussion in a tidal pool): We demand to pull the blur lever at Pitchfork, what is the quintessential 7.0 record?, and Chris attempts to goad Abby into slandering her previous employers for some reason.

It's a music podcast! And Shrek is one of the most musical movies out there! Kind of! Also this one is really bad and does not leverage the hits-- so look forward to our intimate disection of this Dreamworks classic.
Also up for donk-shreking: A new hybrid bev that is better than the hybrid donkey dragon monster babies, we wear Julia's jeans for a night, and who could've seen it coming but Chris has a showtime and its the same as it was the last 30 times.

This week it’s Tim with Will and Chris and Charlie and Lucas and Donald and Ronald and I only made up two of those names so get guessing, clue hunters! Speaking of sleuthing: Will (of Melvic Centre, which is spelled Australian style like Colour or Raisin Brean) joined us to explain The Replacements’ fourth (?!) studio album, Tim. That's right it's Tim Time and I wish we had said that on the episode.
Also in Tim Time: The Simpsons got Australia totally right in just a few ways, an investigation into the Melvic/Pelvic controversy, and we ask Will to name every credit card he's ever seen.

Our episode naming conventions make it sound like we just got married to Kade but no! No one gets married in this episode except for us getting married to the idea of loving Get Married! Let me start this over this isn't working: This week, we are joined by Kade of Swiss Army Wife (linktr.ee/swissarmywifeband) who walks us through Glocca Morra's secret masterpiece, Get Married.
Also up for discussion: Tortellinis are a dangerous kitchen food, it's actually totally normal to wear nothing under a sweatshirt, and we all love Portland, Oregon (Maine not mentioned).
Editor's Note: We are aware Top Gun is in Fallon and NOT Las Vegas. We are also aware that much of TOP GUN (1986) takes place in San Diego. Remarks made at the beginning of the episode were part of a purposeful misinformation campaign.

This week we are joined by Sean Huber of Bardust, Steady Hands and Modern Baseball to talk about Titus Andronicus' Civil War/Teen Feelings concept album, The Monitor. I know it's about a ship but I can't help but think they named it after the TV monitor on accident and that's confusing. Name ships differently!
Also up for discussion: Wales is a criminally underatted country, what the hell even is the Jersey Devil, and The Pogues were originally called "Pogue Mahone" so they should sue Post Malone for copyright.

This week we three sidekicks (under communism, no one gets to be the main guy) discuss The Sidekicks' Awkward Breeds. It's underrated and it has got a bird on the cover and basically all we do is list similar facts such as that.
Also up for breeding (discussion): This is now a presidential impression podcast, soda enemas are in (the wrong holes) and Boy Meets World, What About Boy Exits World: the Abraham Lincoln Story.

This week on TTYG we return to The Cure's classic record Pornography and it goes about as well as you'd think.
Also up for discussion: A bev from a California far away is slurped and turfed, M.I.A. gets K.I.A. for reasons of being evil now, and we are not medical professionals please do not listen to us.

This week! You scream, I Scream, We All Scream! That is a pattern in 2026 and we believe in patterns! Hey, that's almost the name of the album we discussed on this episode. That's right, music critic, screamo-knower and fellow Alternative-head Elias joined us this week to walk us through I Would Set Myself On Fire For You's second record, Believes in Patterns. Almost certainly I messed up the title case somewhere in there so it's good Chris often forgets to read these.
Other reasons to set yourself ablaze this week include: Haircuts in today's dollars must be put on a payment plan, is metalcore like metal ore in Minecraft, and also we all loudly agree that underscores rules which is great because it's true.

This week, we three social sons form a social scene for Broken Social Scene's Broken Social Scene and if that sentance hypnotized you please mail me your wallet.
Also up for Fire Eye'd Boyscussion (that's boy-discussion, not concussion thats football stuff): We eulogize Fuddruckers and speculate on how guys used to be horny different style, Kevin Drew has written a much raunchier I Saw Mama Kissing Santa Claus, and WADS-1 is dead, long live DUMP-6.

This week we were joined by Kory Gregory of Prince Daddy & the Hyena (on the eve of the release of his new record, Hotwire Trip Switch) to talk about a much older, much bluer record. I will leave it to you to determine which record that is, and whether or not it has the smash hit Pork and Beans on it.
Also up for discussion: We throw down the gauntlet on party foul world records, food used to turn you into all sorts of little guys, and Rivers Cuomo could not conceivably commit crimes unless he did.

This week we are joined by returning (to love) guest of the pod and head of the Alternative (available at getalternative.com this is not payola) Zac, who walks us through Lvl Up's classic record, Return to Love. And if you weren't aware of this record you just had to be exactly where I was in 2016 because it was everywhere.
Also worth returning to: A certain website does March Madness and gets everything totally wrong per us, can a Shrewgirl love a Ratboy? yes if the girl is a man named Chris, and Slobodan is a funny name to say even if he did historically unfunny things.

This week/tonight we are officially changing the name of the podcast to "Oldboys Reminiscence: Eternal Summer Gone By" (Park Chan-wook can not sue us, this is a different thing!) because we are old and remembering when we weren't by revisiting LONG.LIVE.A$AP by A$AP Rocky.
Also wildin' for the night: Elvis finds that Hallmark movie magic with a double-bevcheck disaster, the heinous tale of the ex-Turnstile guitarist is discussed, and we do not do any accents because if you put enough pauses between words they're just words.

Dateline 2 days ago: This week we were slightly late because we were busy with One Battles After Another (choosing what to eat on vacation, a recurring trial). Anyways what that is supposed to mean is apologies for the delay, here is an episode about Battles' first record, Mirrored.
Also up for discussion: What is the shape of Mexico City and can it be contained to just one valley, Pitchfork appears to host an AI-written article about an AI-written album because this is hell, and did you know that one of the guys from Battles was in some other band with 1/1000th the clout? No? Well that's actually normal not to know, and it's nuts to pretend like that's common knowledge or to shame your co-hosts about it.

This week: Lucas is in Mexico, Chris is in Vegas and Charlie is in sweatpants, so we had to do a very BevCheck-forward minisode.
Also up for discussion: Chris went to some shows... and that's it. It's too short to come up with three things that happen. There are shows and a Chocolate Starfish/Hotdog Water-flavored Bev - I have been served a subpoena demanding I never say that again, but it's true.

This week we are joined by music writer Johanna "Jojo" Sommer to discuss Life "Without" Buildings' record, Any "Other" City. I am trying to learn to use quotation marks in the AP style and it is "NOT" going well. Unlike me, Johanna does an amazing job explaining the record coherently, so please look forward to that. You can also read her write up on the record right here courtesy of our friends at The Alternative.
Also up for discussion: Morrissey says There Is a Light That Never Goes Out (on his alarm clock), everyone in charge of online ticket sales should be in prison, and cooties are caught fun and funky style, apologies to our loved ones.

This week, we present some information in its purest form-- by which I mean we are joined by DeeDee, of MSPAINT and Him Horrison, who patiently helps us three stooges understand The Stooges' 2nd record, Fun House. As DeeDee explains, its a great record for if you want to learn nothing and that has also been the pitch for this podcast.
Also up for discussion: 17 band members is not too much as long as none of them know the songs, fighters are a BS class because you can buy swords in real life, and none of us say "nyuk nyuk nyuk" because its a different stooge scenario.

THIS WEEK -- your three humble hosts are "Richard D. Game" to discuss Richard D. James album by Aphex Twin. I'm sorry there was no better way to write that sentence. "Of all the gin joints in all the towns of the world, that sentence just had to walk into mine" -- Richard D. Casablanca.
Also (Aphex) up for Twinscussion: Kim's can tell (that a certain record is turning 20), a brief review of a 1993 experimental documentary for some reason, and we all say "Goon Grumpus" but it's cool because for once someone else said the stupid words and we're just repeating them.

This week we are really partying it up with two returning guests, Ciara Rhiannon and Brendan Menapace, both of whom help explain their love of the The Menzingers post-partyum depression record, After the Party. Don't worry, we 3 hosts pronounce Menzingers right 100% of the time definitely. And “let me be clear,” we love and respect Tom just as much as Greg even though we pretty much only talk about Greg’s songs.
Also up for discussion: a bicoastal bev bonanza as Tri Repetae (that's how IDM heads say 3) drinks are slurped, we continue to confront Ciara with Destroyer records for some reason, Brendan refuses to comment on Animal Collective (wise) and a dissertation on what has happened to Apple Jacks.

Tonight, this week (x100) we celebrate our 100th episode (aaa) by talking Fela Kuti's 1973 Afrobeat classic, Gentleman. The cover of the original makes a salient point about colonization and culture, so was it ignorant to thoughtlessly slap our cat on there? I hope not!
Also up for discussion: We wishcast that one Arcade Fire brother has a soul (not the criminal one), none of us can name a single woman (we are trying to be woke but too stupid to do it good), and we return to an early BevCheck in honor of us having done this 100 times and run out of ideas around ep 6.

This week we are joined by the handsome drummer and lyricist of pulses. (capitalization and period correct) to talk us through Linkin Park's debut Hybrid Theory. (Meteora mentioned).
Also up for discussion: Being a drummer and a lyricist is fun per one host and not the guest, the good king mooglemog (Chris) says a local music store loves ICE and must be melted, and we debate the best PS2 Final Fantasy to a standstill (and 11 is not considered because we have knowledge).
