  • We've all been through our 'I'm ditching tech' or 'I'm giving up social media' phases, but it never often sticks. Technology is all pervasive in modern life; from work, to the home, parenting life and leisure.

How can we set good digital boundaries with technology? Is there a way of keeping professional and personal lives seperate? And how should I best model technology use to my kids?

To help us answer all of these questions and more is Daniel Sih. Daniel is a TEDx speaker, an award winning author and productivity expert with over 20 years experience.

He is the author of Spacemaker and Raising Tech-Healthy Humans, and is the CEO of Spacemakers Australia and Canada.

  • Society has preconditioned all of us to believe that we can only find meaning within a romantic relationship.

But what about those who are single because of death or divorce? What about people who have deliberately chosen to be single? Or the many people who just haven't met their life partner yet?

It is not true that we need to be in a romantic relationship to find happiness and meaning in life.

To help us explore this topic is Reverend Dr Danille Treweek, who is the author of The Meaning of Singleness. She is also the founding director of the Single Minded Ministry.

Dani is a post-doctoral theological researcher, author, and speaker with a focus on biblical singleness, sexuality, theological retrieval, and worldview formation.

She is an ordained Anglican deacon who serves as the Sydney Anglican Diocesan Research Officer and as a member of the Diocesan Doctrine Commission and of the Australian Anglican General Synod.

She writes for publications such as Christianity Today, ABC Religion & Ethics, and The Gospel Coalition Australia, and speaks frequently at conferences, events and on podcasts.

  • Halloween is huge in the United States; in fact there is now more money spent on Halloween than on Christmas and Easter.

And while Halloween has never been huge in Australia, it is slowly becoming more popular... not helped by retail giants who want to cash in on sales of decorations and chocolates.

This now begs the question for many families - should we be celebrating Halloween? Is it all just a bit of harmless fun? What about All Hallows, as observed in the Catholic and Anglican traditions?

Brett Ryan is the CEO of Focus on the Family Australia, and joins us on 52Q to work through some of the issues surrounding Halloween.

Focus on the Family have a number of resources on their website on the topic of Halloween:

Should My Family Celebrate Halloween? Should Christians Celebrate Halloween? Honouring All Saints, Past and Present, Near and Far

  • In this episode we're looking at ways that we can make a difference in our own worlds and getting some inspiration from Naa Anang and Nicola Olyslagers (née McDermott).

Naa and Nicola are both elite athletes, and have both represented Australia in track and field.

Naa etched her name into the annals of athletic history by winning both the Australian long jump and 100-meter title in 2019 – a feat that had not been achieved in over 70 years. With a personal best of 11.2 seconds in the 100 metre sprint, Naa also received a bronze medal in the 100 metre relay at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games and is the current national champion in the 100-meter sprint.

Nicola is a specialist high jumper who has medaled at both the Commonwealth and Olympic Games. She has won the high jump silver medal at the Olympics in 2024 and 2020, and also won gold at the 2024 World Indoor Championships in Glasgow.

Naa and Nicola are the founders of Everlasting Crowns, an initiative that inspires athletes to glorify God through sport.

  • If we are people of faith, it is almost certain that we will go through times of both doubt and suffering - often at the same time.

How do we cope with those times of uncertainty? Especially when Western society has tried hard to do away with suffering and hiding that aspect of human life as much as possible.
