  • Sometimes, without meaning to, we take on more than we need to.

We step in, organise, and micromanage because it feels easier in the moment. But in doing that, we unknowingly minimise the capability of those around us.

In this episode, I share a personal story that made me stop and realise how I was holding onto control at the expense of trusting others.

I walk you through how shifting this mindset has made my mental load lighter and my time away from my family feel easier.

    What you’ll learn:

    - How we accidentally deskill the people around us

    - Why letting go of control can actually lighten your mental load

    - What happens when you start trusting others to step up

    - A simple mindset shift that makes sharing responsibilities feel easier

    - If you feel like everything rests on your shoulders, take a listen.

  • Just because a thought pops into your head doesn’t mean it’s true.

Sometimes, without realising it, we often accept our thoughts as facts.

In this episode, I share how our thoughts shape the way we feel each day and what happens when we start questioning them.

I walk you through a simple way to notice unhelpful thoughts and swap them for ones that actually support you.

    Here’s what you’ll learn:

    - How your brain tricks you into believing things that aren’t true

    - Why challenging your thoughts can change how you feel

    - A simple way to shift your thinking each day

    - Why I use journaling to check in with my thoughts (and how you can too!).

    - If your thoughts are making things feel harder than they need to be, this episode will help.

  • How many times have you tried to offload part of your mental load, only for it to boomerang straight back onto your plate?

Maybe you asked for help, but then felt like you had to micromanage the whole thing.

Maybe you held back some details because you had to figure it out the hard way, so why shouldn’t they?

Or maybe you just thought, it’s easier if I do it myself.

I hear this all the time from my clients. And I’ve been there too.

If the goal is to actually share the load (not just temporarily shift it before it ends up back on you), then it has to be done in a way that sets everyone up for success.

And this episode shows you how.

    Here’s what you’ll learn:

    - Why you can sometimes (accidentally) set others up for failure when offloading responsibilities

    - The importance of creating a communication landscape that actually works

    - How to share all the necessary details so tasks are truly off your plate

    - What to do when resentment creeps in (because it will!)

If you want your mental load to feel lighter for the long haul, this episode is a must-listen.

  • There’s this unspoken pressure that we should want to be with our kids 24/7, that the best mums are the ones who dedicate every moment to their family.

Your family is just one part of the equation.

And when you allow yourself to embrace all the parts that make you you, you don’t just benefit, your family does too.

In this episode, I’m talking about:

    - Why time alone (or time away from your family) isn’t selfish

    - How your family is one (very big, very beautiful) part of the equation, but not the whole equation

    - What happens when you allow yourself to be a full, whole person, not just a mum

A simple mindset shift to help you let go of the guilt and prioritise yourself.

If you’ve ever felt guilty for loving time to yourself, this episode is for you.

  • If motherhood (or life in general) feels hard right now, this episode is here to remind you, nothing has gone wrong.

In this episode ,I share how feeling hard is part of the journey, not a sign that something is wrong. I talk about how our busy lives can make us think that if things feel tough, we are not enough. But really, hard times give us a chance to learn and grow.

In this episode, you will learn:
-How can you see hard times as normal?
    - Why does feeling hard not mean you are failing?
    - What can you do when you feel overwhelmed?
    - How can you be kinder to yourself when things are tough?

This episode is a gentle reminder that hard does not mean wrong. It is simply part of life. Give it a listen to hear my own experience and learn simple ways to ease the pressure.

  • In this episode, I share a simple but powerful exercise that helped me release the pressure I’d been carrying.

It’s something I come back to again and again when I feel stuck, and today, I’m passing it on to you.

We hold ourselves to such high standards, often without realising how much they’re dragging us down.

And when we don’t meet them? We double down, push harder, and end up feeling like we’re failing.

    In this episode, you’ll learn:

    - How unrealistic expectations can creep up and start running the show

    - Why holding onto guilt keeps you stuck in the same patterns

    - The simple journaling exercise that I use to let go of the pressure

    - How forgiving yourself can actually create more progress, not less

    - Why change doesn’t have to be complicated or exhausting

If you want support with your mindset and mental load as a mum, I can help.

  • We’ve been taught that being busy means we’re doing motherhood right.

But what if rest wasn’t something you had to earn? What if it was just
 normal?

That’s exactly what I’m unpacking in this episode.

If I want my kids to grow up believing that rest is a natural and necessary part of life, I have to model it for them, not just tell them it’s important while I run myself into the ground.

    In this episode, you’ll learn:

    - How rest doesn’t need to be something you feel guilty about - and why it needs to change if it is.

    - Why sacrificing everything for your kids isn’t the legacy you want to leave.

    - The small but powerful shifts you can make to model rest as normal.

    - How to challenge the urge to always be busy, especially when it feels uncomfortable to stop.

    - Why your kids need to see you relax just as much as they need to see you achieve.

    - How to care so damn well for yourself that the next generation will grow up seeing this as the most normal thing to do.

Remember - rest is not lazy or optional. The more you practice it, the more normal it will feel.

  • We’ve made it! This is the 100th episode of A Mother’s Mind, and I’m wearing my party hat (literally).

This milestone isn’t just about the number. It’s about the connection, growth, and moments of reflection we’ve shared.

In today’s episode, I’m getting a little sentimental.

But I’m also sharing something powerful - How to truly sit in your milestones and celebrate the wins, big or small.

Because let’s face it, we’re often so focused on what’s next that we forget to stop and say, Wow, look at what I’ve done.

I’ll also walk you through some reflection questions I’ve been journaling on this week, that you can use too. Whether it’s a year of motherhood, a career goal, or just surviving a tough season.

    In this episode, you’ll learn:

    - Why celebrating your milestones is so important.

    - How to reflect meaningfully instead of rushing onto the next thing.

    - The questions I ask myself to soak in the moment - How living in the moment makes the journey as fulfilling as the destination.

If you’ve been pushing through life without pausing to celebrate, this episode will be your permission slip to slow down and savour those achievements.

Whether it’s your child’s first step, a big work milestone, or just making it through a hectic week, every win deserves to be acknowledged.

Here’s to 100 episodes—and all the little moments worth celebrating along the way!

  • This episode is all about creating a clear vision for the year ahead. Whether 2024 was a whirlwind, a slog, or somewhere in between, now is the perfect time to pause, reflect, and look forward with intention.

I’m sharing a powerful journaling exercise that has become my annual tradition. This has helped me (and my clients) create lives that feel more aligned, purposeful, and joy filled.

This isn’t about perfection. It’s about taking time to dream and then using that vision as a gentle guide throughout the year.

    Here’s what you’ll learn:

    - How to step into December 2025 and write from that perspective.

    - Why getting granular in your vision can make a difference.

    - What specific areas of your life to reflect on

    - How this exercise can influence your decisions and actions over the year.

Set aside a little time this week to try this for yourself.

Grab a notebook and pen, settle into a quiet spot, and let yourself dream big.

By the end, you’ll have a clearer sense of what you want 2025 to look and feel like and a guide to help you get there.

These are the bits I know I’ll carry with me into the next year—and I think you’ll find them helpful too.

    - What strategies you can use to take small steps when the big picture feels overwhelming

    - Why talking openly with the people in your life (even when it’s uncomfortable) makes your mental load more sustainable.

    - A simple but powerful way to notice the good and keep going, even when life feels full to the brim.

  • In this episode, I’m talking about the concept of feeling lost in motherhood and, more importantly, why it’s ok if you don’t have all the answers right now.

Being a mum is amazing, but it’s also full of shifts and changes that can leave us questioning who we are now, what we want and where we are going.

Whether you’re in the early days of motherhood or facing a new season of change, this episode is here to remind you that there’s no rush to have it all figured out.

    Here’s what you’ll learn:

    - Why it’s ok (and necessary) to sit in uncertainty and give yourself time.

    - How letting go of that pressure can lead to clarity over time.

    - Practical ways to support yourself when life feels unclear or directionless.

    - How to find people who can support you without jumping straight to solutions.

Motherhood takes time and being in the messy middle is ok. Supporting yourself with kindness and curiosity during this time can make all the difference.

  • Motherhood is filled with so much invisible work, and one of the hardest parts is holding space for the emotions of those around us, while also managing our own.

This episode is about the emotional load of holding space for others. The unseen labour of supporting others’ feelings as well as your own which can leave you feeling completely drained.

I share my own recent experience of feeling stretched while managing my toddler’s big emotions (and my own!) and the shifts I made to support myself better.

    Here’s what you’ll learn

    - What the emotional load really is, and why it often falls on mothers

    - How I reflect on my own emotional load and the strategies I use to lighten it

    - How to give yourself permission to manage the load imperfectly

Whether it’s your kids, partner, family, or even friends and colleagues, the emotional load can feel overwhelming. But there are ways to ease the weight and show up as the version of yourself you want to be, without sacrificing your own mental wellbeing.

  • In this episode, I’m talking coping with “mum rage.”

I know it’s something that isn’t often talked about, but these intense moments of frustration happen and we’re not alone in feeling this way.

I found myself facing it head on, feeling overwhelmed and frustrated, and it made me realise how crucial it is to understand what’s going on underneath.

If you’re feeling stretched to breaking point or snapping at the ones you love, this episode is for you.

    Here’s what you’ll learn:

    - Why ‘mum rage’ is more common than you think and why experiencing it doesn’t mean you’re doing motherhood wrong

    - What really causes those intense moments and how to recognise the tiny leaks in your mental load and energy that can lead to ovewhelm.

    - How I realised when your “cup is slowly draining” and why it’s a powerful reminder to check in with your needs

    - Why self compassion and role modelling are so important for your kids in these moments.

    - Why it’s okay to feel frustrated and how acknowledging these feelings helps you manage them better.

  • In this episode, I’m recording from the beach as I take a moment to reflect on the recent challenges I’ve chosen to take on, especially postpartum.

I’m talking about what I’ve learned from stepping outside my comfort zone, both in personal and work life, and how it’s impacted my mindset and resilience.

This episode is for you if you’re feeling ready (or maybe a bit nervous!) to lean into growth, even when things feel hard.

I share what it’s been like to embrace growth, how I’m reconnecting with past skills, and why the little shifts in mindset make all the difference.

What you’ll learn in this episode:

    - How stepping out of my comfort zone has reignited my confidence and brought a new level of energy to my days.

    - The power of asking for help – and why sometimes it’s so refreshing to be the one receiving instead of always giving.

    - How challenges reconnect us to the skills that we may not have used in a while and why it’s worth re-awakening these strengths.

    - How these challenges have given me more patience with my kids as they navigate their own new skills.

If you’re finding yourself in a similar spot, wondering whether you’re ready to take on a new challenge or doubting your ability to step up, you’re not alone.
Take a listen and reflect on what growth might look like for you.

  • In this episode, I’m diving into how you can start to rewire those default thoughts that aren't serving you, the ones that are leaving you feeling drained or overwhelmed.

Our minds rely on familiar thought patterns, often taking the path of least resistance to conserve energy. But what if those thoughts aren’t serving you well?

I guide you through recognising these thoughts and help you start creating new, supportive ones that will serve you better.

Your default thoughts are the ones your brain turns to automatically, with little effort. You’ve likely been thinking about them for years, whether they’re helpful or not.

Some of these thoughts can become more negative, full of comparison, judgement, or self doubt.

In this episode, you will learn:

    - Why our minds cling to old, default thoughts and how to recognise when they’re holding you back.

    - The first steps to identify unhelpful thought patterns without judgment or frustration.

    - How to gently replace these thoughts with ones that serve you better using small, repeatable actions.

    - Why repetition matters in rewiring your brain, and how to make this process feel sustainable.

    - Practical examples of shifting mindset habits that have worked for me and others in our community.

This episode is all about taking simple, manageable steps toward a lighter mental load.

  • In this episode, I talk about the importance of everyday kindness. Not just thinking kind thoughts but actually saying them out loud.

It’s easy to get caught up in busy life, but taking a moment to share a kind word can have such a big impact.

We’re so used to hearing opinions on how we parent, but what if we flipped that and made it normal to share kindness instead?

I share a couple of personal stories from a recent trip that reminded me just how much a kind word or gesture can impact someone deeply and how those simple moments can have a ripple effect on the world around us.

In this episode, you will learn:

    - Why normalising everyday kindness can change not only someone else’s day but yours as well

    - How to move from thinking kind thoughts to actually saying them out loud

    - Simple ways to create more meaningful connections in your daily life
