Ever get to the end of the day and feel like your brain is just⊠done?
Like youâve used up all your words, all your patience, and every last drop of decision making power?
Youâre not imagining it. Thatâs decision fatigue and if youâre a mum, itâs very real.
Thatâs not just tiredness, thatâs your brain running out of capacity after making hundreds (if not thousands) of micro-decisions all day long, for you, your kids, your home, your work.
Iâm chatting through one of the most common reasons we feel mentally exhausted (even when the day itself didnât seem that full). Iâm breaking down what decision fatigue actually is, how it ties into the mental load, and why itâs not just about âbeing tiredâ.
What youâll learn:
- What decision fatigue really is and why it hits mothers so hard
- The ripple effect it has on how we feel day-to-day
- How your brain reacts to âbigâ decisions when itâs already running on empty
- A practical strategy to stop circling in indecision and finally make a call
- Why doing ânothingâ is one of the most productive ways to refill your capacity
- How to spot when your mental load needs a resetâbefore you hit burnout
If your head feels full and youâve been circling the same decision for weeks, this episode is your circuit breaker.
Listen in and give your brain the breather itâs quietly begging for.

In this episode, Iâm talking about the real pressure so many of us feel, to tidy up the mess, to make things look âpresentable,â to smooth out our rough edges when what we really need is permission to be in the thick of it.
I recorded this after a weekend spent building a very rustic, very muddy mud kitchen with my kids. It was messy. It didnât match the perfectly styled cubby house next to it.
In this episode, I share:
- The unexpected moment that helped me reframe my own perfectionist thinking
- How the pressure to make things âlook goodâ adds unnecessary weight to your mental load
- Why Iâm choosing to leave our mud kitchen exactly as it is (and what itâs teaching me)
- The sneaky ways we polish ourselves up to meet invisible expectations
- What it means to intentionally choose discomfort
- How letting things be messy can actually feel lighter than constantly trying to make them better
If youâve ever felt like youâre constantly smoothing the chaos just to feel âenough,â this oneâs for you.
Sometimes the most powerful shift we can make is simply deciding that the messy middle isnât a problem to fix.

Capacity is one of my absolute favourite things to talk about (and think about). Because it comes up all the time.
One of the most common things I hear from the mums I work with is this.
I just donât have the capacity.
Not enough energy. Not enough space. Not enough time.
Capacity isnât about doing more. Itâs not even about time or energy. Itâs about the way you think about those things.
In this episode, I walk you through how Iâve shifted my thinking to expand capacity in motherhood and how you can too. I share examples from my own week, what it looks like in real life (with little people in tow), and why our default thoughts often make us feel more depleted than we actually are.
What youâll learn:
â Why it feels like you never have enough capacity (and why so many mums feel the same)
â What the difference is between capacity and energy
â Why your brain keeps telling you youâre full
â How you can add more breathing room into your week without changing anything thing on the calendar
â How to spot the sneaky thoughts that drain your mental load without you realising
â What to do when you want more space in your day but canât take anything off your plate
If your week feels like one long game of catch up and youâre craving breathing room, this episode will help you find it.

In this episode, I talk about how I may have been opportunities in my every day life to fill my cup, to feel more nourished, to feel more connected, and I wanted to share it with you now.

Motherhood can feel noisy, overstimulating and full. So it makes sense that when we get a moment to ourselves, we want to block it all out.
But what if those small, fleeting moments with strangers, at the cafe, at the park, on a plane, are actually what we need to feel more alive, more connected, more full?
What youâll learn in this episode:
â Why Iâve unintentionally pulled back from connection
â How small interactions can create big feelings of fulfilment
â What Iâm reminding myself now when Iâm tempted to shut the world out
â The unexpected shift thatâs helping me feel more energised in motherhood
If youâve felt disconnected lately, this episode is your gentle nudge back into the world.

Sometimes, without meaning to, we take on more than we need to.
We step in, organise, and micromanage because it feels easier in the moment. But in doing that, we unknowingly minimise the capability of those around us.
In this episode, I share a personal story that made me stop and realise how I was holding onto control at the expense of trusting others.
I walk you through how shifting this mindset has made my mental load lighter and my time away from my family feel easier.
What youâll learn:

- Why letting go of control can actually lighten your mental load
- What happens when you start trusting others to step up
- A simple mindset shift that makes sharing responsibilities feel easier

I walk you through a simple way to notice unhelpful thoughts and swap them for ones that actually support you.
Hereâs what youâll learn:

How many times have you tried to offload part of your mental load, only for it to boomerang straight back onto your plate?
Maybe you asked for help, but then felt like you had to micromanage the whole thing.
Maybe you held back some details because you had to figure it out the hard way, so why shouldnât they?
Or maybe you just thought, itâs easier if I do it myself.
I hear this all the time from my clients. And Iâve been there too.
If the goal is to actually share the load (not just temporarily shift it before it ends up back on you), then it has to be done in a way that sets everyone up for success.
And this episode shows you how.
Hereâs what youâll learn:
- Why you can sometimes (accidentally) set others up for failure when offloading responsibilities
- The importance of creating a communication landscape that actually works
- How to share all the necessary details so tasks are truly off your plate
- What to do when resentment creeps in (because it will!)
If you want your mental load to feel lighter for the long haul, this episode is a must-listen.

Thereâs this unspoken pressure that we should want to be with our kids 24/7, that the best mums are the ones who dedicate every moment to their family.
Your family is just one part of the equation.
And when you allow yourself to embrace all the parts that make you you, you donât just benefit, your family does too.
In this episode, Iâm talking about:
- Why time alone (or time away from your family) isnât selfish
- How your family is one (very big, very beautiful) part of the equation, but not the whole equation
- What happens when you allow yourself to be a full, whole person, not just a mum
A simple mindset shift to help you let go of the guilt and prioritise yourself.
If youâve ever felt guilty for loving time to yourself, this episode is for you.

Weâve been taught that being busy means weâre doing motherhood right.
But what if rest wasnât something you had to earn? What if it was just⊠normal?
Thatâs exactly what Iâm unpacking in this episode.
If I want my kids to grow up believing that rest is a natural and necessary part of life, I have to model it for them, not just tell them itâs important while I run myself into the ground.
In this episode, youâll learn:
- How rest doesnât need to be something you feel guilty about - and why it needs to change if it is.
- Why sacrificing everything for your kids isnât the legacy you want to leave.
- The small but powerful shifts you can make to model rest as normal.
- How to challenge the urge to always be busy, especially when it feels uncomfortable to stop.
- Why your kids need to see you relax just as much as they need to see you achieve.
- How to care so damn well for yourself that the next generation will grow up seeing this as the most normal thing to do.
Remember - rest is not lazy or optional. The more you practice it, the more normal it will feel.

Weâve made it! This is the 100th episode of A Motherâs Mind, and Iâm wearing my party hat (literally).
This milestone isnât just about the number. Itâs about the connection, growth, and moments of reflection weâve shared.
In todayâs episode, Iâm getting a little sentimental.
But Iâm also sharing something powerful - How to truly sit in your milestones and celebrate the wins, big or small.
Because letâs face it, weâre often so focused on whatâs next that we forget to stop and say, Wow, look at what Iâve done.
Iâll also walk you through some reflection questions Iâve been journaling on this week, that you can use too. Whether itâs a year of motherhood, a career goal, or just surviving a tough season.
In this episode, youâll learn:
- Why celebrating your milestones is so important.
- How to reflect meaningfully instead of rushing onto the next thing.
- The questions I ask myself to soak in the moment - How living in the moment makes the journey as fulfilling as the destination.
If youâve been pushing through life without pausing to celebrate, this episode will be your permission slip to slow down and savour those achievements.
Whether itâs your childâs first step, a big work milestone, or just making it through a hectic week, every win deserves to be acknowledged.
