Today, we are talking about weight. Youâre probably like âgirl this is a podcast about height???â Yeah, it is but itâll make more sense as I go on. And just a quick disclaimer: I will be talking about weight in this episode. I will not be disclosing my weight; however, I will be mentioning numbers from an article relating to this as well as other peopleâs weights that theyâve made public online. If this is triggering for you, protect your peace and skip this episode.
Now, if youâre curious about this, letâs talk!
Weâve all heard growing up âNever ask someone how much they weigh.â Because itâs rude right? But when it comes to tall women, itâs like this rule doesnât apply. Not only are creepy strangers asking for our weight, but some tall women are voluntarily giving out this information. Why is this a thing? Are we normalizing this or feeding into some strange obsession with tall bodies?

Letâs face it, Pilates has been one of the BIGGEST TRENDS of 2024.
And understandably so. Many people, both men and women, have been looking for ways to increase their strength and tone their bodies without putting so much stress on them that they feel very tired at the end of the day.
And lowkey Iâve been there before lol.
With the rise of the popularity of Pilates, especially with TikTok influencers, sometimes I question if Pilates is really worth it. Especially as a tall girl.
Today Iâm joined by certified tall girl Debi aka Tall Girl Pilates on Instagram. Debi is a Pilates and fitness instructor dedicated to helping tall women and women over 35 years old find wellness through fitness. Sheâs certified through Balanced Body and holds an NPCP certification, which is the only National Pilates Certification Program out there. This advanced certification requires renewal every two years through continuing education, meaning sheâs always learning and growingânot just as an instructor, but as a person, too.
As a tall girl, sheâs struggled with keeping up in fitness. She found it difficult to do certain exercises (like squats) as fast as her peers and to use machines that donât cater well to long limbs. However, she learned over time that exercising as a tall woman is going to look extremely different than it does for others and works to spread that message through her content.
Tune in to the full episode to learn more about her journey in fitness as a tall girl and some fitness/Pilates tips for tall women!!

Now, time for the topic of discussion: modeling.
Remember the days when everyone wanted to become a model? I mean, it makes sense; everyone was so enamored by the glitz and glam of everything including travel opportunities, wearing pieces from your favorite famous designer, meeting influential people, doing cool photo and video shoots, building confidence, becoming famous, and so forth.
But many people felt their dreams were âcrushedâ because they felt that they were âtoo shortâ. I can understand why theyâd think that because when you see models, theyâd have long, thin limbs and often look taller than their counterparts or the people around them. Not only that, but many agencies wanted to cast tall women.
As tall women, weâre often told that we should model because of their height. Simple. Makes sense, right? WRONG. What if I told you it might actually be hard because you could be too tall? Yup. You can apparently be too tall to model :/ Why? Tune in to the full episode to find out!

Happy Thanksgiving! I just love knowing that every single year, I release an episode on Thanksgiving. I hope youâre enjoying your Thanksgiving weekend, whether you're cooking, staying in, going out, etc. And with this weekend comes the start of officially going broke because, after today, we have Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday, probably some of the biggest spending days of the year.
Unfortunately, I won't be participating in the mayhem this year because of a $600 repair I had to pay for on my car, but life, right?
Many people argue that the Black Friday deals are no longer hitting as theyâve gone from 60% - 80% off in the 2000s to 20% - 30% off nowadays. But thereâs one place where we can see the first type of deals: fast fashion retailers. These retailers are known for bringing runway-inspired pieces to the consumer market, making fashion more affordable and accessible. And of course, one of the more popular ones we know of to this day is Shein. Shein is a global online fast fashion retailer based in China known for selling trendy clothing at very low prices.
However, there have been various allegations about this brand involving labor exploitation, environmental harm, having harmful chemicals in their clothing, and so forth. Now that we know a little bit about SheinâŠ
Did you know that Shein has a tall section??
Well if you didnât know, now you do. Tune in to the full episode to learn more about the problematic allegations surrounding these fast fashion retailers selling tall clothing, the rise of a new platform: TikTok Shop, and how tall fashion is no longer âtall girl friendlyâ!

I stumbled across a bunch of home renovation videos on TikTok the other day and this app knows me so well that it showed me a video of a tall family customizing their own home. Like from scratch. In the video, they literally had a picture of them sitting in front of the wood structure of their home.
Their home consisted of raised countertops, 8-foot doorways, 10-foot ceilings, etc. and this creator in particular documented her whole journey of creating her tall friendly home. And sheâs not the only one. There was a whole slew of videos with tall people customizing and renovating their homes from raised countertops to higher cabinets to tall-friendly furniture. There were even tall friendly apartments with features that catered to tall people.
But how much does this stuff cost?
To raise your doorways, it can cost up to $1,000 per doorway. Raised countertops? Up to $3,000. Raise the height of your ceiling? Several THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. And we havenât gotten to other specialized features like closets and tall friendly furniture.
In this episode, we explore how expensive it can be to live and exist as a tall person. Home customizations. Clothing. Healthcare. Transportation. Food???? To learn more about this and a very controversial opinion that comes from this, tune in to the full episode!

Tall Girl Stereotypes episode: Are Tall Women Too Masculine? | The Truth About Tall Girl Stereotypes -- https://www.spreaker.com/episode/are-tall-women-too-masculine-the-truth-about-tall-girl-stereotypes--61316039
Today weâre talking about being tall AND black (especially darker-skinned) as a woman. This topic has been brought up in my DMs and my comments over the past few days. I did plan on speaking about this topic at a later time; however, because of the recent requests, I just took this as a sign to do this now.
Just a few quick disclaimers that are bulleted:
I identify as Black and I am mostly black genetically. While I am mixed, I am most in touch with my Black side so I do say I am Black. While I do face some of the struggles of being a Black woman, I do acknowledge that colorism exists. If you didnât know, I am a light-skinned woman. I am light with light-colored eyes, so I am aware that there are times when Iâm treated differently because of how I look. This episode will discuss slavery. If this is a sensitive topic for you, DO NOT tune in to this episode. Protect your peace babes.
âBeing tall and Black isnât for the weak.â âPeople give so much hate to tall, dark-skinned girls.â These are some of the comments and messages Iâve received over the past few days. And nowâs the time to address them.
The way that people act towards us is largely due to the stereotypes given to both Black women AND tall women. What are these stereotypes? And how does it affect how people see tall, Black women? Tune in to the full episode to find out!

We have a very very special guest with us today: Judy Stewart from TrĂšsolz!
TrĂšsolz is a brand thatâs on a mission to provide women with larger feet with stylish and affordable footwear options. Just like with having long legs, long arms, and a longer torso, having larger sized feet can make it very difficult to find shoes in the styles that we want in the size that we need. Bigger brands often go up to a size 10 or 11 and barely go past that, leaving women with feet in a size 12 and up struggling to find footwear options that work for them.
The founder, Judy Stewart, faced this struggle herself. As a woman with a wide size 10.5 foot, she struggled with finding good quality, stylish shoes, often having to deal with frumpy, poor quality selections. And when she did find styles that she liked that were also good quality, the price was extremely high or the shoe itself was uncomfortable. After struggling for years, she decided to start TrĂšsolz and now helps other women across Canada and beyond feel beautiful in their shoes, no matter their size.
Tune in to the full episode to learn more about Judyâs journey to starting TrĂšsolz, why brands donât make extended sizes for tall women, how footwear affects your confidence, and more!
**And don't forget to check Judy out on Dragons' Den (if you're in Canada on CBC) at 8 pm EST***

Happy Happy Halloween everyone!
If youâre watching the video version of this episode, I do have a little costume on lol. Quite literally just a little witch hat. But thatâs the most Iâve done in years! Fun fact, I havenât dressed up for Halloween since middle school; in recent years, Iâve literally printed out a picture of the map of India and taped it on my shirt. Get it? India the person dressing up as India the country? Clever, right?
But this year I wanted to try so I literally bought a little witch hat lol.
Make sure you stay safe out there this Halloween!
Todayâs episode is actually fitting for today. If youâre a tall girl and you need a last minute costume, just be a villain or monster. Itâs perfect. Okay, that sounded wrong - hear me out because I have a quick take:
Tall women are monsters.
Tall women are scary. Tall women are evil. This is what the media wants us to think by primarily casting tall women as villains in movies, especially Disney animated films. My question to you is: Have you ever noticed that in quite a few animated Disney movies, the woman villains tend to be on the taller side while the princesses and woman protagonists are on the shorter side? Are you seeing a pattern or am I just bugging?
No tea, no shade to Disney movies or any other movies!! This is just my personal opinion.
So, how did this topic come about? How is this affecting tall girls? Tune in to the full episode for more!

For todayâs episode, we are talking about tall people and sports as well as my journey as an athlete.
âDo you play basketball?â
âOh you must play basketball or volleyball.â
Those were two of the most common comments Iâve gotten as a tall girl growing up and honestly even at this age. And youâd be surprised just how disappointed some people were when Iâd tell them that I donât. Like Iâm sorryâŠbut youâre a random stranger. Why does it matter to you???
Itâs pretty common that when somebody sees a tall person, they think that that tall person has some type of natural athleticism or would be good at sports. Well, newsflashâŠnot all of us play or have played sports. Crazy, right?? However, there was a time where I did play sports. And thatâs what weâre talking about today.
I want this episode to be for the tall girlies who feel some type of pressure to play sports because of their height or have other interests besides sports. If this is you or youâre just genuinely interested in hearing about my journey, tune in!

So apparently, there are people who think that tall people are privileged? Like thereâs a term called âtall privilegeâ. I guess Iâm not tall enough to know what it is since itâs the first time Iâm hearing about this. Since itâs my first time and it may be your first time, weâre learning this together. I looked it up on Google and AI suggestions said that âtall privilegeâ is essentially the advantages taller people may have over shorter people. Itâs often interchangeable with height privilege, height bias, etc.
If youâve heard of pretty privilege, itâs similar to that just with height. Tall privilege can show up in different areas of life, but it seems to be a big thing in the dating world. Scrolling through TikTok, videos really highlight this in that they tend to claim that men often get more attention and more choices in the dating world if theyâre on the taller side.
So how does tall privilege affect tall people? Do tall women experience this? Tune in to the full episode for more!

Theyâre essentially on tour; they were touring Canada and now theyâre in the U.S. They were in NYC this weekend and you know I had to be there lol.
I volunteered to help set up and eventually attended it this past weekend!
So, how did the actual event go? What happened to the stickers and business cards I made? Tune in to the full episode to learn more!

So for todayâs episode we are talking about tall women being called âbigâ, why thatâs an issue in my opinion, and how we as tall women can remain confident and remember that some people donât mean it in an insulting way.
First and foremost, as a community, letâs stop calling tall women âbigâ. To be honest, âbigâ and âtallâ are 2 completely different things in my opinion. Letâs just stick with âtallâ, okay?
Itâs fairly offensive to call a tall woman, or any woman for that matter, âbigâ and hereâs why:
âBigâ for a woman has a negative connotation to it in two ways. First, weâre taught from a young age that weâre supposed to be small, not seen, out of the way, and honestly just there when needed. So, when you have a tall girl, who already sticks out, feels out of place, and is ridiculed for something she naturally has (which is her height) and then you point out the fact that sheâs âbiggerâ than her peers, âbiggerâ than the people around her, how do you think sheâs gonna feel?
If you said self-conscious, youâre right.
The second way is that âbigâ is often tied to the terms âfatâ or âoverweightâ. I personally donât like using those terms because society has placed such a negative connotation with them, but because âbigâ is associated with such negative words, weâre going to take it as an insult. And honestly I feel like this is something very very common for a tall plus sized woman.
Why do people even call tall women âbigâ to begin with? How can we respond to those who call us âbigâ? Tune in to the episode for a deep dive!

Todayâs episode was actually inspired by an event that occurred in the past week. Iâm trying to update/upgrade my wardrobe and for real this time because I know Iâve been saying that for the ENTIRETY of this podcast, but we got our stuff figured out so weâre doing it this time. Anyways, I went to Loft Outlet which is basically a store with last seasonâs/last yearâs clothing items from the actual Loft store.
I was looking around and looking at some items and then I stumbled upon the petite section. So Iâm looking at this like okayâŠ.where is the tall section???
Crickets.
Nowhere to be found.
And thatâs the issue with many brands. They will have the standard sizes of course but sometimes, theyâll have a petite section in stores. And no tall section, which makes ZERO sense to me because itâs like if youâre gonna cater to one end of the height spectrum, why not cater to the other end as well?
Anyways, the big question here is why donât big brands make clothing for tall women? In this episode, I do a deep dive into this question and so much more. Make sure to tune in!

Today, we are talking about online harassment and bullying towards tall women. Yes, online harassment and bullying.
With the rise of social media and the Internet, itâs easier than ever for people to communicate with others from all over the world, including complete strangers, in both public and private settings. People are able to leave comments, send messages, make posts, and more and this makes way for cyberbullying and online harassment.
First, letâs start off with:
What is Online Harassment?
According to the Durham University, online harassment is the use of information and communication technologies by an individual or a group to cause harm to another person. This can take various forms, such as derogatory comments, unsolicited advice, stalking, and even sustained harassment.
So, what are some examples of online harassment towards tall women? Do tall women get bullied because of their height? Tune in to the full episode for more!

Today we are talking about tall girl stereotypes. You know the comments like âWow, you must play basketball!â or âOh my gosh, youâre so intimidating!â or âAre you a man?â That last one lowkey hit a lil different and not in a good way. But Iâm sure that if youâre a tall woman you have been stereotyped like this one way or the other. And this episode is for you! Weâre gonna be talking about the most common stereotypes of tall women as well as the issues and harsh truths about them.
Because in some way, shape, or form, if youâre a tall girl, these stereotypes have affected you whether it be confidence, self-image, etc. But firstâŠ
What Is A Stereotype?
A stereotype is a widely held yet oversimplified and generalized belief or idea about a particular group of people. So essentially, when you see a particular group or a person classified into a particular group, you make an assumption based on that classification. And this can be based on race, gender, profession, or even height. Often, whether good or bad, stereotypes are perpetuated by the media and pop culture. But today, weâre only focusing on the effects on tall women.
So what are the common tall girl stereotypes? And why are they detrimental to tall women? Tune in to the episode to find out more!

This has been an ongoing thing for who knows how many years. Time and time again, there are these public interviews where people are stopped in the streetsâwhether tall women, average-height women, or even menâand theyâre asked what their ideal height in a partner is. Iâm assuming this is a way to gather some type of information as to which height is most attractive to people.
I feel like a very common misconception is that all tall women inherently prefer tall men or view shorter men as less attractive or less capable. Is this the reality? Tune in to the full episode to find out more!

We have a very special guest with us today: chiropractor and business owner Dr. David Lipman! Dr. Lipman is the owner of Physical Evidence Chiropractic. Since his youth, heâs been very active and encourages others to be active as well. In his practice, he focuses on identifying the root causes of pain and treating them using a wide range of services. Today, our topic of discussion is posture, and weâll briefly discuss some of the root causes of pain related to our posture.
Because, as tall people, one of our major struggles is posture, right? Whether itâs our neck, back, shoulders, or even hips, poor posture can slowly but surely wreck our bodies. And for the most part, itâs not even our fault! Sure, we may slouch over a computer often or sleep incorrectly. But our day-to-day lives also negatively impact our posture. Low sinks and counters. Low desks. Weird car seats. Chairs. Our short friends (no tea, no shadeâstill love yâall!!). It seems like we canât escape those pesky pains.
In this episode, David dives deep into the importance of posture, the reason behind why people have certain types of pains and bodily issues because of their posture, and tips to offset these negative effects. If this is something youâre interested in, be sure to tune into the episode!

Let's talk about tall girl fan pages! Lol, you're probably like 'what????????'
Let's start with the basics:
What Are Tall Girl Fan Pages?
Tall girl fan pages are social media accounts that showcase and "celebrate" tall womenâkinda. These accounts often feature images, videos, and stories of tall women, with height as the main point of attraction. While these pages might appear to provide a sense of community, they can also have a darker side, promoting objectification and unrealistic standards.
These fan pages are prevalent across platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and even Flickr. Lol, do yâall remember Flickr? Iâm telling you, when I was in middle school, Flickr was EVERYTHING. That and VSCO. If you werenât on those sites, you were not cool, lol.
ANYWAYS, tall girl fan pages are scattered all over the Internet, and they tend to have a lot of common themesâprimarily featuring extremely tall women. This often leads to the misconception that a woman has to be 6â4â and up to be considered tall. But that raises an important question: What is considered tall for a girl? In my opinion, it's not just limited to those who are 6â4â and taller.
In this episode, I explore how tall girl fan pages can promote unrealistic standards of tall beauty and fuel unhealthy self-comparison. Also, what are these tall girl fan pages really for? Are they meant to support and celebrate tall women, or are they simply catering to the male gaze? I talk about this and more in the full episode!
