A couple weekends ago we got to visit a new to us theme park, and a place that helped inspire Disneyland: Knottâs Berry Farm. Just 5 miles away from the Happiest Place on Earth, Knottâs features incredible thrills of its own, and offers some incredible food too. We were luck enough to hit the Boysenberry festival, and thoroughly enjoyed our day. Come along and see what Knottâs is all about!

Our DVC resort overview series continues this week with a look at our happy place - Disneyâs Aulani Resort and Spa on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. This is one of the few DVC locations not associated with one of the theme parks, but donât think for a minute that means thereâs not a lot to do. From the beach and pools to amazing food and even an onsite luau, Aulani is a perfect vacation destination.

This weekâs guests got Nathan to do something he hasnât done in decades: watch a horror movie. Weâre talking about the new horror/comedy moving Screamboat, based on the original Mickey Mouse cartoon Steamboat Willie. We were lucky enough to get a preview of the movie and spend some time talking with director Steven LaMorte and producer/actress Amy Schumacher. Steven and Amy are deep Disney fans, and that absolutely comes through as a loving, yet bloody, homage to Disney characters and storytelling in the movie.
Screamboat opens in theaters on 4/2 in North America, rolls out globally in the coming weeks, and gets two big Mickey-gloved thumbs up from these two Disney nerds! You can find more at Screamboat (2025) | Comedy, Horror.

Stage Nine in Old Town Sacramento is an absolute treasure trove of all things pop culture and nostalgia. Not only is Stage Nine one of the largest Disney Fine Art galleries in the US, it also houses a gigantic Disneyana collection, has a toy store straight out of the dreams of 70s and 80s kids, and features a classic candy store too. Add to that RSVLTS, Loungefly, Funko Pop and more, and this place becomes your checkbookâs worst nightmare. Itâs GREAT!

We spent the New Year holiday on Oahu at one of our favorite Disney destinations, the Aulani Resort in Ko Olina. Thereâs so much to do at Aulani itself, and amazing activities for the whole family around the island. We did a UTV tour around Kualoa Ranch, visited Pearl Harbor with the USS Arizona Memorial and USS Missouri battleship tours, and spent a day at the Polynesian Cultural Center. Of course we also enjoyed Aulani itself, complete with an impressive fireworks display to ring in the new year - both official and unofficial. What a magical holiday!

Thereâs nothing quite like spending the holidays in paradise, and thatâs exactly what we did this year. We flew to Kauai early Christmas morning and spent 5 nights on the southern tip of the island in Poipu. Known as the Garden Isle, Kauaiâs beauty (and the food!) did NOT disappoint.
