    (1:22:06-1:22:43) Conclusion

Happy Monday! It’s time for Andy and Ari to pick some games!

There are two monsters in the SEC this week. Alabama-LSU is a College Football Playoff elimination game. Georgia-Ole Miss could be one if Georgia wins. The stakes are high, and the spreads are low. Alabama and Georgia are each 2.5-point favorites on the road.

Meanwhile, Vegas finally has recognized Indiana crushes opponents. But that makes this week’s line look very strange. The Hoosiers are a 14.5-point favorite against Michigan.

    Here’s the full list…

Iowa at UCLA (+5.5) Total 44.5

Iowa State at Kansas (+3.5) Total 50.5

Miami at Georgia Tech (+11.5) Total 63.5

Florida at Texas (-21.5) Total 48.5

Michigan at Indiana (-14.5) Total 48.5

Georgia at Ole Miss (+2.5) Total 54.5

Colorado at Texas Tech (+3.5) Total 62.5

Oklahoma at Missouri (-2.5) Total 42.5

South Carolina at Vanderbilt (+3.5) Total 46.5

Alabama at LSU (+2.5) Total 57.5

Washington at Penn State (-13.5) Total 45.5

Paul also discusses the situation at Auburn coming off the Tigers’ first SEC win and heading into a game against Vanderbilt that will be a rematch with QB Diego Pavia, who led New Mexico State to a win at Auburn last season.

Next, Andy and Ari preview the Ohio State-Penn State game. Can Ohio State correct its offensive line issues? Who will play quarterback for Penn State?

Now it’s time to answer your questions. Among them…

Is firing coordinators the new hot midseason coach-firing trend?

Are we getting out over our skis recommending a massive new contract for Indiana’s Curt Cignetti?

Will the Big Ten get more teams into the playoff than the SEC?

Coaches have been talking, and we have been listening. Ari and Andy break down several very interesting press conference nuggets on today’s show.

    — Miami’s Mario Cristobal said recruits should pay attention to the trajectory the Hurricanes are on relative to the rest of the programs in the state of Florida.

    — Penn State’s James Franklin said injured QB Drew Allar likely will be a game-time decision for Saturday’s matchup with Ohio State. Franklin also dropped some hints about the offense with backup QB Beau Pribula.

    — Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin complained that the SEC isn’t giving the Rebels any night games at home.

    Also…

    — Stephen A. Smith thinks Deion Sanders needs to be hired at a higher profile program than Colorado.

    — Michigan is having conversations with LSU QB commit Bryce Underwood. Is this the QB Big Cat was hinting at when he appeared on the show last week?

    — Oklahoma State tailback Ollie Gordon II explained why he hasn’t shut it down even though the Cowboys are having a terrible season.

Texas A&M switched quarterbacks and changed its fortunes Saturday against LSU, and now the Aggies look like a College Football Playoff team.

Meanwhile, Penn State wasn’t looking like a CFP team at Wisconsin until quarterback Beau Primula replaced an injured Drew Allar. The Nittany Lions then rolled to a win, and now they prepare to face Ohio State.

Speaking of the Buckeyes, Andy and Ari need to have a talk about them. Are we sure they’re a national title contender? They certainly didn’t look like one while barely surviving Nebraska at home on Saturday.

Andy and Ari also will talk…

(1:18:41-1:20:57) Conclusion, Dear Andy & Ari tomorrow! [email protected]

First, Andy reveals his three sauciest takes of the week:

Colorado will get bowl eligible this week.

Auburn will get its first SEC win this week.

At least two undefeated teams will lose this week.

Ari will rank those takes from garlic parmesan to spicy ghost pepper.

Next, the guys talk Heisman Trophy candidate Ashton Jeanty as the Boise State tailback prepares for a huge game Friday at UNLV.

We stay incredibly saucy with a visit from Doug Lesmerises, one of the hosts of the Kings Of The North podcast. Doug thinks the SEC stinks, and he’s convinced that this is the year northern teams prove NIL and the transfer portal have shifted the balance of power away from southern teams.

Andy tries to claim BYU for the south, but Doug shuts him down.

We’ve got a major guest today: Pardon My Take’s Dan “Big Cat” Katz joins the show to give Andy and Ari some advice.

Big Cat, one half of the biggest sports podcast in the world, has been listening and is not thrilled with Ari’s take that the 12-team College Football Playoff devalues the regular season.

So he lays out in painstaking detail why Ari is wrong. He also explains to Andy that even though Andy and Ari has climbed the podcast charts, it still has a long way to go before it can challenge the king.

Big Cat also helps Andy determine the Reverse Harbaugh. What’s that? It’s the program that can say “Who’s got it worse than us? Noooooo-body.”

Meanwhile, Texas minister of culture Matthew McConaughey sent a message to Longhorns fans to stop throwing bottles — even if it does make the officials reconsider their blown call.

Elsewhere, Brent Venables named Jackson Arnold the starting QB for Saturday’s visit to Ole Miss.

Also, UConn’s Jim Mora blasted the refs in a way only a coach whose team isn’t in a conference can.

Andy and Ari break down an incredible Saturday of college football.

Georgia made sure there will be no undefeated SEC teams by beating Texas in Austin. Did Steve Sarkisian panic by pulling Quinn Ewers in the second quarter (only to bring him back in the third)?

Indiana crushed Nebraska by 49 points. Are we sure the Hoosiers aren’t a legitimate Big Ten title contender?

Tennessee beat Alabama after its offense woke up in the second half? Can this Tennessee beat anyone, or is Alabama just that down?

    Plus…

    Illinois whips Michigan.

    USC collapses at Maryland.

Oklahoma is helpless against South Carolina.

    LSU dominates Arkansas.

    Miami escapes Louisville.

Army and Navy continue their march toward an epic clash.

Notre Dame started slow and then played a great second half to beat Georgia Tech.

BYU stayed undefeated Friday with an incredible comeback against Oklahoma State.

Iowa State stayed undefeated Saturday with an incredible comeback against UCF.

Colorado stayed in the Big 12 race by creaming Arizona.

Kansas State crushed West Virginia in Morgantown.

    Clemson handled Virginia.

D.J. Lagway was spectacular as Florida beat Kentucky.

(1:09:27-1:10:14) Conclusion; Dear Andy & Ari tomorrow - [email protected]

It’s a Wendy’s Saucy Take Wednesday, but first, we have some news and a very special guest.

The rules loophole Oregon coach Dan Lanning used to drain time off the clock against Ohio State is getting closed. The NCAA’s coordinator of officials said Tuesday that officials will get the latitude to put time back on the clock if a defense intentionally uses too many players in order to draw a flag.

Next, Indiana coach Curt Cignetti joins the show to discuss how he turned the Hoosiers into a 6-0 team that has yet to even trail in a game this season. Indiana plays Nebraska on Saturday in its toughest game yet. Cignetti explains what kind of players he looked for in the transfer portal when he took the job (because Indiana’s best remaining players hit the portal immediately). He also warns against putting artificial limitations on a program.

Next, it’s time for saucy takes.

Ari is in the kitchen this week, and Andy will judge which take is the sauciest from takes on the following three topics:

    Oregon coach Dan Lanning

The Big Ten and the SEC in the CFP

    (1:13:54-1:14:30) Conclusion; See you tomorrow!

We’ve got to talk about the genius of Oregon’s Dan Lanning and the split personalities of Kentucky, but first we’ll hit some news.

Utah quarterback Cam Rising is out for the season after suffering a leg injury against Arizona State. Utes coach Kyle Whittingham was noncommittal about an eighth season for Rising.

Also, Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy got head-butted by a cow.

SEC commissioner Greg Sankey said officials should have flagged Georgia coach Kirby Smart for bumping Mississippi State’s quarterback on the sideline.

Next, Nick Roush of On3’s Kentucky Sports Radio joins to discuss one of the weirdest teams in college football. Kentucky has won at Ole Miss and pushed Georgia to the brink. Kentucky also has gotten smashed by South Carolina and lost to Vanderbilt at home. Mark Stoops says he’s fed up. So which team shows up when the Wildcats play at Florida this weekend?

Later, Andy and Ari discuss Oregon coach Lanning’s admission that he purposely put 12 players on the field late in the game against Ohio State in order to drain seconds off the clock. Former Philadelphia Eagles coach Buddy Ryan also exploited this loophole in the 90s.

Finally, Andy and Ari review the fried food they ate at the State Fair of Texas.

Andy and Ari watched Texas destroy Oklahoma on Saturday, but the better games were elsewhere. The big one was in Eugene, where Dan Lanning notched his biggest win as Oregon's head coach as the Ducks beat Ohio State 32-31 to take command in the Big Ten race. But Penn State also remained undefeated after beating USC in overtime.

Andy and Ari also break down...

    Ole Miss at LSU

Florida losing to Tennessee in overtime after blowing multiple opportunities to score.

Iowa State remaining undefeated by winning at West Virginia

BYU hammering Arizona to stay undefeated

    Alabama barely surviving South Carolina

Vanderbilt winning again -- this time at Kentucky

    And much more!
