WELCOME BACK FRIENDS :))
You've probably stumbled upon this episode and wondered to yourself "Damn, where have these chicas been? I was missing their squeaky voices". Well, look no further, WE ARE BACK!
We are starting off Season 2, Episode 1 with one of our favorite topics to discuss - Red Flags. They're around us at our workplace, our homes, within friendships and within us. The conversation around red flags is not new, but an important one to discuss and bring awareness about. Remember when someone told you that the choice you made for yourself was not right and you were inconsiderate towards others because you chose yourself before others? Yeah, that's called 'gaslighting' and it's a MAJOR red flag. In this episode, Talia and Mehru dive into some of the toxic traits they've seen in their friendships and what you can do to stay away from them. They also take a minute to reflect on their own positive and negative behaviors and make sense of it.

Welcome to Episode 10, where Talia and Mehru talk about the biggest DESI DISEASE that desi parents fear for their children- BEING SINGLE. We talk about the society's pressure and what had led us to make this conscious choice to grow our careers first. How many times have single career oriented women heard that your 'time is running up', 'you won't find any one when you're too old', 'starting a family should be a priority'? We are here to beat the bullies, and tell you how important it is to evolve yourself before you enter a relationship. :)

This one is super special not only because Talia and Mehru enjoyed filming it, but also because it comes straight from their hearts. They uncover some biases and stereotypes desi women must go through daily. In this Episode, they deconstruct the idea of an “Ideal Desi woman”; who is she? Will Talia and Mehru ever become one? They also discuss how harmful these biases and stereotypes are to our society.
-
Welcome to Episode 3, where we "check ourselves, before we wreck ourselves"! Talia and Mehru deconstruct their privilege and womanhood by sharing experiences that have brought forth this podcast! We recognize that we don't represent majority of the South-Asian women however, the underlying struggles of being a woman are not foreign to us. We dive into our personal lives and struggles with harrassment, nose piercings, red lipsticks, ghungroos etc and uncover the trajectory of a desi woman’s life.
We critique the society that shaped our identity but also led us to question the basis of this identity!

In Episode 2, Talia and Mehru talk about their long immigration experience with some fun highlights and some disheartening challenges. As a Pakistani immigrant in Canada, they finally get to hang out with boizzz, meet Indians (Yes Pakistanis, they are just like the ones in Bollywood), admire the resilience of new refugees/immigrants and question racists who fear newcomers!
