Most recently, Matt has been a central member of his district's recently formed AI Advisory Team.     About our Guest: Dr. Shannon W. McPhersonDr. Shannon W. McPherson is a highly trained and experienced high school science teacher. She has had twenty-six years of teaching in a wide variety of sciences, including chemistry, advanced placement environmental science, anatomy and physiology, biology, medical microbiology, and pathophysiology. She has also been an adjunct faculty member at a local community college, teaching anatomy and physiology to pre-nursing students. She has taught thousands of students at various levels, which attests to her passion, drive, trustworthiness, and love for her students.Before teaching, Dr. McPherson was a chiropractor with a growing practice after graduating as salutatorian of her class.     About our Guest: Jennifer KaufmanJennifer is in her 20th year in education and is currently the Lead Coach at Corkery Elementary School in Chicago Public Schools. She began her career as a permanent substitute and has served as an instructional assistant, third grade teacher, principal, assistant principal, Title I Non-Public teacher, homeschool teacher, and instructional coach. She has served both suburban and urban communities and worked in public, non-public, parochial, and charter schools. Jennifer has been in coaching throughout the greater Chicago area since August 2020. She was selected as a 2018-19 Teach Plus Indiana Teaching Policy Fellow and co-authored the policy brief THE RATE OF RETENTION:A PROPOSAL FOR AN INDIANA REPORTOF TEACHER SUPPLY AND DEMAND. During her tenure with the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, Jennifer completed the Indiana Catholic Principals Institute and served as a board member of the Eastside Catholic Schools Partnership and a Deanery representative for the Archdiocesan Principals’ Association. Jennifer was named the 2011 Fishers Elementary School Teacher of the Year. She graduated from the University of Evansville with a BS in Elementary Education, received her MS in Educational Leadership through the Urban Principal Program at Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis, and obtained a Learning Behavior Specialist I Endorsement from Olivet Nazarene University. Jennifer lives in Chicago with her husband, Josh, and her two dogs, David Rose and Stevie Budd.
