Two outstanding guys join the show and talk in-depth about their careers that starts with how these two met at a training scenario. Dutch tells going from football practice for his junior year in high school to ending up in boot camp for the Army! Working at a jail at 19 years old taught him how to speak, which helped him undercover. While McAlpin was at the jail, Rocco was being told at the same age to come down off a telephone pole by Italian guys.

Dutch tells about dealing with the dope epidemic at young age as he was a cop before he turned 21. Giovanni explains what would have happened to his career had he become the manager at the Olympic Garden Strip Club in Las Vegas along with how they handle multiple aliases.

Do you need an attitude when working undercover? Does surveillance teach you anything in addition to the importance of having a good budget and resources to be successful undercover. McAlpin tells a story of a case where he could have been killed while Rocco tells one that could have ended his career.

As adrenaline junkies, how they handle situations when the hair on the back of their neck stands up. The difficulty of being undercover when children are involved or even worse; death and how they debrief. What do they feel like when take the bad guys off the street.

They are the co-hosts of The Mob Museum new podcast: Inside the Life. Stories of not only their career but guests who lived on both sides of the law. New episodes every Thursday.

Lou tells about living in a garage growing up, smoking cigarettes while watching Scooby Doo AND by age 11 seeing someone stabbed along with women beaten by pimps. He then recalls the moment he knew he wanted to be a police officer along with what pushed him to serve in US Army.

If you have seen the movie, “Colors” featuring Robert Duvall and Sean Penn. Lou was like Penn’s character in real life with the Arizona State Gang Task Force. Being undercover forced him to grow up. Lou admits being addicted to the rush of this position. What is the difficulty of not allowing a criminal to dictate the pace of an investigation?

A graphic story of the extent drug dealers will go to hide drugs and get them to their destination. Complacency can not only get you hurt but killed, Lou retired medically after sustaining career ending injuries during an undercover assignment.

His PTSD went deep and dark, Lou explains all he went through, what he found to help get past it, and what he does today. Traumatic experiences that law enforcement face and their difficulty managing them.

As an entrepreneur, what did he do with that garage he lived in as a child? Being an actor, his own series; “Duress” and being in Jay Dobyn’s short film; “Big Red Friday.” Pimber’s thoughts on what leads to success, what breaking badly means to him, losing his identity, and did he write the book for him or others? COPLINE, what it is and how it serves officers.

The portrayal of Almanzo Wilder on Little House on the Prairie inspired a new memoir, Prairie Man: My Little House Life & Beyond. Show begins with his upbringing in Northern California as a child acting as a cowboy, cherishing the simplicity of days gone by, like heating water on the stove. His journey into acting stemmed from experiences of bullying, leading to his breakthrough moment when he was first heard and seen.

Securing his first major role as Michael Wagner in Judy Blume’s Forever was preceded by a small part on The Streets of San Francisco. His agent, Ina Bernstein, played a pivotal role in opening doors for him and affirming, “You will do this show,” referring to Little House on the Prairie. He reflects on the importance of roles aligning with an actor's essence, noting how his upbringing uniquely suited him for the character of Almanzo Wilder.

Becoming a published author holds deep significance for him. He shares insights into Michael Landon's personality and his experience joining the series midway through its run. He was captivated by the show's essence after being cast. He discusses how fans embraced the love story between Laura and Almanzo, recalling a pivotal moment when he realized the show's immense popularity beyond the set. He expresses gratitude towards the many individuals who have supported him on his journey to success.

We reflect on how past television shows once brought families together, a tradition now fading into yesteryear.

Louis sold fake luxury brand sweaters, stole money from Catholics, and even did load frauds to purchase luxury sports cars from Italy! A master at creating casino chips/tokens, but where does one get this equipment? It took four years to perfect with coins for 36 casinos that were used in Las Vegas, Laughlin, NV, Atlantic City, and even Tribal Casinos in Connecticut.

Where did all the money go? How did Louis the Coin get caught? Louis had a ¾ piece of plywood under a rug in the trunk of his car to handle the weight of all the counterfeit tokens along with other things. A quick discussion of having a travelling Louis the Coin Exhibit especially at The Mob Museum in Las Vegas!

Part of his pea deal after serving two years at Fort Dix, he showed Mohegan Sun how he did it and was hired by the US Mint! He paid only $2400 of a 90K restitution agreement and was given a REFUND!

Louis was also in trouble for not just casino chips but also for stealing $100K from his 92-year-old aunt, counterfeiting $100 bills and walked from testing positive for cocaine saying he needed it for sex. In addition to bank, mortgage, and insurance fraud!

Was Louis straightforward about his actions, did his mouth get him into trouble, and the status of the screenplay. What does he miss the most about Louis who passed away in 2020.

Javier tells going from small bust operations in Austin, Texas to ending up on the case of Pablo Escobar in Colombia. Out of the academy he was hoping for a bigger city but ended up in Austin. After applying to go to Mexico, he was given Colombia. The eye-opening experience of dealing with Pablo Escobar who was hiding drugs in fruit and humans which we ended up on one of the biggest cases in the world!

Javier knew Pablo very well from all the studying he did such as his informants, family, drug movements, money, etc. He explains Narco Terrorism and the extent of how Pablo would get people to kill for him by buying them houses and providing for their families. Pablo placed bounties on police officers of $100 for each one killed.

In 1989 Escobar put a bomb on a commercial airline to kill a presidential candidate that killed 109 innocent people, a bus with dynamite in front of a building killed more, and the one that made him Enemy #1 in the world was he killed the presidential candidate at his rally. Extradition was eventually signed, which was the green light for Javier and his team. Was there an order to kill Escobar?

His self-surrender with his own penthouse prison and how he was later found after the DEA found his frequency that resulted in his killing by the Colombian National Police. Pablo’s motto was that he preferred a tomb in Colombia versus a jail cell in the United States. Javier said he was probably worth more than $30 Billion at the time of his death!

A renowned musician and drummer, known for his contributions to the iconic supergroups Free and Bad Company, reminisces about his childhood in rural Wales. Following a gig with a local cover band, The Manicas, he formed his own band, Heatwave where he did both vocals and drums that was inspired by Ringo Starr after watching him on television.

His life took a pivotal turn when a coin toss determined his fate, amidst a looming deadline set by his parents. Transitioning through experiences with Black Cat Bones, he ultimately teamed up with Paul Kossoff and Free, marking the recording of the smash hit "All Right Now," subsequent tours, and the eventual decline of the group.

In an era where attitudes towards drug were much different, the band grappled with Paul Kossoff's addiction, which significantly impacted their trajectory. The decision to join forces with Paul Rodgers led to the inception of Bad Company, with intriguing stories surrounding the band's name.

Legends suggest that during the recording sessions for the LP "Bad Company," band members were scattered throughout the house. He reflects on his favorite Bad Company track to perform, as well as his tenure with the groups Wildlife and Lonerider. Expressing disappointment over the absence of Free and Bad Company in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, he shares anecdotes of playing with Chuck Berry and the profound moment of drumming alongside Ringo Starr, whose influence sparked his musical journey.

Beyond the band scene, he released a solo record titled "Because of You" with Chicago-based: The Empty Pockets. Recounting Bad Company's final 2019 show in Las Vegas alongside Lynyrd Skynyrd, he discusses his newfound interest in composing movie scores and the significance of contributing to numerous timeless songs. The interview concludes with insights into his life beyond music.

She boasts extensive experience as a food and prop stylist, with a vast array of clients. Her journey began as a young ballet dancer and was a creative child who eventually landed a career as a dental hygienist—a role she continues to fulfill today. Jody delves into her interpretation of beautification, which Tommy links to her involvement with
visual, performing arts, and design. As longtime member of Aging but Dangerous Women, “a movement focused on healthy aging and living dangerously through fun, spirit and style”, she was a part of a select group ranging in age from 50-80, who modeled for large charity events.

Her career in the film industry included various positions on feature films, cable television shows, commercials, high end corporate videos, catalogue and print media advertising. After being hired as a food stylist for an informercial for Ron Popiel’s Rotisserie 2000, Jody narrowed her scope of work to food and prop styling. For several months in 2006, she worked as an in-house producer for Andrew Zimmern, coordinating with his radio show and television segment producers, and doing research in support of his columns and written publications.
She shares insights into the techniques and props employed in food photography, such as those seen in the "Got Milk"; campaign where yogurt was used. Questions arise about the financial prospects, competitiveness, and outlook of this profession.

Jody's contributions extend beyond her career, as she served for many years on the
board of Minnesota Women in Film & Television and being involved with Women Who
Really Cook, an organization of professional women in the food industry. Additionally, she indulges in a side venture of repurposing and designing vintage jewelry, offering opportunities for connection. Our conversation concludes with a glimpse into her future aspirations.

Renowned for his expertise in 19th-century history, Nevada & Las Vegas welcomes a distinguished historian to the show to delve into the rich history of Tropicana. Beginning our discussion with his experiences in Las Vegas and his tenure at The Valley Times, which intersected with organized crime, we segue seamlessly into his initial impressions upon hearing the name "Tropicana."

Set to become the new home of the Las Vegas A’s baseball stadium, Tropicana has a storied past intertwined with the city's underworld. Initially touted as "The Tiffany of the Strip," its true colors were revealed following a failed assassination attempt on Frank Costello in New York.

From Joe Agosto's oversight of the Folies Bergere, operating without a license, to Frank "Lefty" Rosenthal's residence at the Tropicana, which sparks anecdotes about Michael's father's views on Sharon Stone's portrayal of Geri in "Casino," the property has navigated a complex path to the present day, often contending with larger competitors.

The integration of a new resort alongside the baseball stadium prompts reflections on past events, such as the 1984 labor dispute that culminated in a bomb explosion in the Tropicana's parking lot. The venue has hosted a myriad of legendary performers, from Ernie Kovacs and Benny Goodman to contemporary acts like Wayne Newton and productions like "Mamma Mia." Notably, the Tropicana also served as a backdrop for iconic television shows like "Charlie's Angels" and the filming of "The Godfather" in 1972.

Contemplating the announcement of the Tropicana as the stadium site, concerns arise about preserving the essence of old Las Vegas amidst the city's rapid evolution. The fate of the iconic stained-glass ceiling in the casino is pondered, along with reminiscences of what will be missed about the Tropicana.

In summary, the discussion illuminates Tropicana’s multifaceted history and its role in shaping the identity of Las Vegas, while also raising questions about the city's future direction and the preservation of its nostalgic landmarks.

The greatest male Mexican professional of all time with over 700 PGA Tournaments under his belt, graces our show to share his remarkable journey from humble beginnings – a childhood devoid of plumbing and adorned with dirt floors. He discusses the unwavering determination demanded on the PGA Tour, a path that emerged after a stint in boxing cut short by appendicitis, where he first learned of the legendary Julio Cesar Chavez.

His entrepreneurial spirit shone through as he sold golf balls for a living, even resorting to unconventional methods like fishing them out of ponds with his feet. Starting his golfing journey with just one club, a 7 iron, he encountered a turning point upon meeting John & Rita Minnis, whose impact on his life was profound.

Turning professional in 1986, he faced the grueling Q School a dozen times, contemplating quitting in 1993. However, he persevered, overcoming adversity to clinch victory in May 2013, becoming the first Mexican to triumph on the PGA Champions Tour on Cinco de Mayo, an achievement dedicated to his late brother.

He shares the significance of celebrating victories with a left hook and delves into the current state of golf in Mexico, seamlessly transitioning to discussing his passion project – The Esteban Toledo Foundation, aiding orphaned and foster care children through initiatives like the "Home of Love" facility.

We delve into his future, his poignant reflection on the meaning of "nothing," and his outlook on life after golf. Additionally, he discusses his book, a tribute to John Minnis and Mexico's National Soccer Teams, encapsulating his journey of triumph and dedication to his roots.

An infamous bootlegger and gambling tycoon, renowned for his role in creating the iconic Stardust Casino & Resort in Las Vegas, Tony "The Admiral" Cornero was a legendary figure. His entrepreneurial spirit led him from the humble origins of an Italian village to the bustling streets of America. Yet, his journey was marked by turbulence and intrigue.

Born into hardship, with his family facing financial ruin, Cornero's early life was fraught with adversity. However, he swiftly rose from driving a cab to becoming a rumrunner, amassing a fortune by the tender age of 25. Yet, his rapid ascent fueled egos and bankrolls that ultimately culminated in a fatal encounter in 1925.

After a dramatic escape from arrest, Cornero found himself in Vancouver, only to surrender himself years later. Undeterred by his past, he ventured to Las Vegas, where he inaugurated one of the city's pioneering resorts, the Meadows Casino & Hotel. However, his refusal to associate with notorious figures like Lucky Luciano and Meyer Lansky led to arson, destroying his property.

Returning to Southern California, Cornero launched gambling ships off the shores of Santa Monica and Long Beach, most notably the SS Rex. Yet, his ventures drew the ire of State Attorney General Earl Warren, leading to a dramatic showdown dubbed "The Battle of Santa Monica Bay."

Despite setbacks, including the revocation of his gambling license and a near-fatal shooting, Cornero persisted. He returned to Las Vegas, where he ambitiously built the Stardust Casino & Resort. However, financial woes and pressure from The Cleveland Syndicate marred his endeavors, ending in his mysterious demise.

The aftermath saw no resolution for the families of Cornero, Siegel, and Berman, all embroiled in the tangled web of casino interests. Even as the legacy of Tony Cornero fades into history, the enigmatic allure of his life continues to captivate, leaving behind a trail of unanswered questions and intriguing discoveries.
