This week we are chatting with Slow Joy, (Esteban Flores), who is an incredible alt rock artist from Dallas. As he discusses the significance of the name 'Slow Joy' from the confines of his tour van in our first truly “mobile” interview, he also dives into the challenges he faced after the loss of his mother, and how he rediscovered his passion for music through therapy. Esteban emphasizes the importance of appreciating the time and effort of his audience, reflecting on his musical influences, and the local scene that shaped him. We ask about his lifelong influences, as well as his current musical inspirations, and he explains how listening to music with an “adult” perspective can be enlightening. Listen in on our conversation this week with Slow Joy to hear about his excitement for upcoming projects, the challenges and joys of touring, and so much more on this episode of the Beyond the Barricade Podcast!

This week we are sitting down and chatting with Tour Manager Victoria Haft and Photographer/Videographer Ellie White of Taylor Acorn's team! We jump into how we all met and know each other and how our connections brought us all together. Lor asks Ellie and Victoria about the one show that put the idea of working on the road with artists into their minds and what their first tour or show that they actually worked on was. We talk about the need to decompress after being on the road and what that does to you physically and mentally and how the connections you make on the road always seem to pop back up when you least expect it. Ellie and Victoria share some of their favorite memories of this tour run, how being close to an artist can pull you into a genre that you may never have been a huge fan of before, and what artists they are currently listening to right now. Listen in on our chaotic and fun talk as we dive into everything tour life and working behind the scenes in the industry on this week’s episode of Beyond the Barricade!

This week we are sitting down and chatting with Collin Walsh, the lead singer of Grayscale. We dive right into Collin’s personal musical influences growing up such as Led Zeppelin and Third Eye Blind, and how Bruce Springsteen and Bleachers have influenced the band as a whole. Collin talks about the writing and recording of their latest album and how capturing the most authentic version of themselves as a band with each of their own life experiences was a major point in the records’ creation. As we go further into our musical tastes and influences Collin talks about being inspired by artists who do not cave into the pressure of what others think of their music, and how they create music that allows the listener to connect on a deeper level with the storytelling and personal emotion behind the songs. Listen and join in on our conversation with Collin Walsh of Grayscale on this week's episode of Beyond the Barricade!

We talk a lot about being intentional with your time and how sometimes you need a break/reset in order to truly express yourself the way that you want, but also to just simply enjoy the sounds of life. Listen in on this week’s conversation as we ask about Rowan’s first tour opening for X Ambassadors, how it felt playing his music to those crowds, and so much more on this week’s episode of Beyond the Barricade!
