  • For those of you looking for a "one-Meg-movie," you're going to need a bigger boat, my friend! Why only have a water-based monster movie featuring one Meg when you can have THREE? This week the crew and I are putting on our floaties and heading for open water for the return of the Meg in all its big sharky glory. Meg 2: The Trench follows most of our original crew from the first movie, or at least those that didn't wind up as sharkbait (oo-ha-ha), as they once again find themselves with a few prehistoric sharks on the loose. Only this time it's not only big sharks that they find down in the deepest, darkest, depths of the ocean - but a fully functional mining base ran by some lousy group of eco-terrorists! Because, well, of course they would, right? Boasting some CGI and special effects that also feel like they are 65 million years old, gloriously cheesey monster movie one-liners and a jet-ski stunt sequence that you just have to see to believe, Meg 2 is here to feast on some beach-party goers and chum the waters once again! Can Jonas and the team stop their three big sharkies, take down the lousy bad guys and send these bad reviewers back to swim lessons? Tune in to find out!

  • Y'all, it's 2015. Surely opening up a theme park on an island in Central America that features real dinosaurs can finally be safe. I mean, we all learned our lesson from what happened back in 1993, right? WRONG. Welcome to Jurassic World! After cooking up a brand new attraction in the lab, courtesy of our favorite Dino Geneticist Dr. Henry Wu, things take a turn for the worse. All I can say is bad decision after bad decision leads to the asset finding its way out of containment and into the park. Honestly, the funniest thing is that its never even the dinosaurs' fault that they always keep getting out. It's these freaking people, man! 22 years after the events of the original park, they managed to reopen on the same island, change park to world, rebrand the original logo and open it up to the public. I remember people going absolutely bananas when it was announced that this franchise would be getting revived - including me! If you're new around here, you have to know that Jurassic Park is probably my favorite movie of all time. So, naturally, I was not only excited to see dinosaurs on the big screen again under the classic, Spielberg-esque moniker of "Jurassic," but also to see just where in the dino-creating, egg hatching, dino dung digging world they would go with this one. Can Claire and Owen rescue her nephews, stop InGen's dastardly plans and send these bad reviewers back to containment? Tune in to find out!

  • I hope you got something pink because to tune into this one you're gonna need it! This week the crew and I venture into parts unknown, well, parts plastic and 2/3 the size of the real world filled with all the colors, that is, with Barbie! While everything seems to be just as it should be in Barbieland, Barbie starts to go through a crisis that may be linked to the real world. This is one hot pink adventure filled with Barbie, Ken, Ken, Barbie, Barbie... oh and that Barbie too, Ken, Ken, Ken, and - Allan, of course! Haha I'm sure y'all never would have thought that the world of BRBR would be talking all things Mattel for a comeback episode, but here we are. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect, but with the wildly successful marketing, fun cast, goofy trailers and their "not-so-secret" plan to mash up with Oppenheimer, we absolutely had to check it out. Featuring extremely colorful visuals, great costumes and a playlist of some incredible original tunes, it's definitley one that made the world want to party with Barbie. Can Barbie find the true meaning of her existence, help Ken see his true "Kenergy" and put these bad reviewers back in their boxes? Tune in to find out!

  • If you’ve been wanting to walk in the world of monsters and bad reviewers - you’re in the right place! This week we have yet another very special episode as we welcome back a legendary guest of the show’s
and that’s our good monster buddy Big Liz (aka Godzilla). He’s back in one of his better outings with Godzilla: King of the Monsters! With several of his monster friends and foes being released all around the globe, it’s up to a small group of monster hunters and scientists to help G-Man defeat the baddies and reign as king once again. I’ve said it before and I’ll probably say it again and again
I absolutely love monster movies! They are nowhere near perfect or some of the best movies there ever were, but man, they are just so dang fun. This has to be one of my favorite big monster flicks of all time with not only the number of monsters we get to see or the fantastic fights and visuals, but just how well they keep our beloved, big, baddies in the limelight for most of the movie. While some may argue there was no plot, poor dialogue and the worst character development, I just have one thing to say to them - I’m here for the MONSTERS! Can Godzilla defeat Ghidora, reclaim his crown as king and drop a monster royal rumble on these bad reviewers? Tune in to find out!

  • Wait a minute... New BRBR? Not on a Friday? You're not dreaming, you heard that right! Turns out today is a very special day in the world of BRBR in that it's my birthday! So, wanting to include all of you wonderful listeners who not only make doing this show a true joy but also make it possible, I figured I would drop a surprise bonus episode. This week we are speeding off into the sunset with the latest installment to the DCEU with The Flash! Our hero Barry Allen not only upsets Batman but also disrupts a rift or two in the space time continuum in his efforts to save his mom. It's now up to him and a few, fellow, friendly faces to set things straight once again. While I may not be the biggest DC superhero fan out there, I still found a few things about the film I enjoyed - which is always my goal here at the show! With plenty of people raving about this one as well as just as many giving our superspeedy superhero a speeding ticket, I had to give it a watch and see for myself if worlds truly do collide! Can The Flash regain his powers, save his mom and drop some space timeline spaghetti on these bad reviewers? Tune in to find out!

  • Look there, in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! No, wait... It's actually a Superman movie without "Superman" in the title nor the wildly famous 'Superman Theme!' Although Krypton may be no more after General Zod's attempted coup, we are bringing the most popular Kryptonian there is to the world of BRBR with 2013's Man of Steel. Talk about worlds colliding! Bringing a darker tone to our famed, American superhero, Zack Snyder reintroduces us to the Superman story and introduces us to the one and only Henry Cavill. I'll be honest, I am not a Superman fan and never really have been. But I do see the diehard fans that not only rank this among their favorites in the DCEU but also the Superman movies as well. So I figured I had to drop another certified BRBR First Watch this month and give it a watch. In this one, it's up to our newly minted Superman actor and his shirtless scenes to find his place on Earth and defend its people from Zod and his goons. Despite all of the controversy surrounding Cavill's casting choice, and the overall Superman entry itself, it still brings some solid CGI super-action and is now one of the few DCEU additions from the 2010s that doesn't make me lose my waffles. Can Kal-El save the people of Earth, stop the evil General Zod and flex his shirtless scenes on these bad reviewers? Tune in to find out!

  • Grab your popcorn, a favorite drink and... Well, just watch where you step with this one! This week BRBR is piecing together one of the biggest animated features from 2014. It's The Lego Movie! It's up to Emmet and his fellow Lego minifigures to stop an evil tyrant from gluing the Lego world as they know it into eternal stasis. This movie was absolutely HUGE back in 2014 and made a "brick"-load of money. As this was a certified BRBR First Watch, I just had to find out what the deal was with this smash hit movie about Legos. Outside of the absolutely stacked cast of voice actors and some stunning animation, I knew nothing else about the movie going into it. I've been a big Lego guy ever since I was old enough to play with them, so, naturally I had to finally find out just what Hollywood decided to do with one of my favorite toys from childhood. Becuase... well, you know how well it always goes when something you love and adore gets made into a major motion picture, right? Let's just say that it doesn't always leave you with the fond memories you had as a kid. But aside from it just being a movie about Legos, it actually has some fun animation, goofy characters and some of the most ridiculous humor you can imagine. Can Emmet discover his destiny as the "Special," stop President Business from carrying out his evil plan and show these bad reviewers how awesome it is to be part of a team? Tune in to find out!

  • You're a wizard! He's a wizard! She's a wizard! Everyone's a wizard this week as we jump on board the Hogwarts Express with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. It is the intro to the wizarding world and the kick-off of one of the highest grossing film series of all time. While it may be the first year for Harry, Ron and Hermione, they soon find out to have quite a bit more on their plate than trying to pass their potions final. I honestly enjoy the first one so much as it's able to do such a bang-up job at taking us into the world of Hogwarts and I just have so many good memories from watching it as a kid. I'm in no way, shape or form (magical or non-magical), a massive Harry Potter fan by any means, but these movies are still some good wizarding fun. While the 2001 CGI sequences may not be anything to purchase the snack cart for, the film makes up for in giving us a decent sendoff into the wizarding world along with a fully stacked cast to make up these lively, legendary characters of Rowling's. Can Harry and his magical trio uncover the truth at Hogwarts, stop Vol... I mean, He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named and tell these bad reviewers it's "Levi-OOOOH-sa not LevioSAR?" Tune in to find out!

  • This week the crew and I are heading back to the '80s to cover one of the most controversial classics of the time - The Breakfast Club. Hailed by some as the "definitive teen movie from the 1980s" and others as "boring garbage I wouldn't let my kids watch," I knew we had to bring it to the wild world of BRBR to find out for ourselves. Taking place at Saturday detention at a high school in 1984, five teens from different social groups share time and stories to discover they seemingly have more in common than they thought. And man, I seriously can't overstate how much hype this film got to get it to the level of "1980s Classic." This so-called "teen movie of the ages" just seemed to blow up out of nowhere and be a household name to this day. With its well-known young cast, teenage relatability and dated dialogue, a majority of people still say it is a must watch. So pack a lunch, grab a pencil and paper and let's back to high school on a Saturday! Or... maybe just listen to this episode instead? Can our Saturday-school-spending-students connect with one another, outsmart ol' Vernon and send these bad reviewers to detention themselves? Tune in to find out!

  • BRBR IS BACK! After our unscheduled time off, the crew and I are back with a... wait. With a DC superhero movie? Honestly, guys? This is what we're coming back with for everyone after the break? All I have to say is who on this show approved this? But here we are everyone! We are beyond thrilled to be back behind the microphone and talking all things Shazam this week. I'm not going to say that we had this episode just about written before our break, but I am also not NOT going to say that - right? Our boy Zachary Levi suits up as the one and only white-caped, lightning-fingered, wonderboy known as Shazam and it's up to him to stop nefarious, evil and bald Dr. Thaddeus Sivana. In a world of ancient wizards, chosen champions and all sorts of famous locations around Philadelphia, this comic book super flick seemed to almost drop out of the blue from DC. Boasting some fun fights, decent practical effects/sets and some not-so-super dialogue, this "family-friendly Deadpool" character brings his own superpowers and superstory to the big screen. Can Shazam save his family, stop the bad baldy Dr. Thaddeus Sivana and drop a thundercrack on these bad reviewers? Tune in to find out!

Hope y'all are once again ready for Blue Steel as we forget everything we thought we knew about the male modeling world with 2001's Zoolander. While being one of the world's top male models can bring fame, fortune and success, it can also apparently bring being brainwashed to kill a foreign nation's prime minister. Oh boy I feel like I have seen this one countless times, but still found myself cracking up at the ridiculous lines once more with this recent rewatch. There's just so much to this one from the characters to the humor to fictional centers for ants that just make Zoolander the beloved classic that it is today. Yet just how Hansel was voted Best Male Model of the Year over our boy Derek, there are also plenty of bad reviewers who voted this movie one of the worst they've ever seen! Can Derek make his comeback to the world of male modeling, not kill the Malaysian Prime Minister and drop the long awaited Magnum on these bad reviewers? Tune in to find out!

  • Lace up those Chucky T's and grab your gloves... Well maybe no longer the Chuck's but something from Nike instead, but either way this week we are climbing into the ring with 2015's Creed! The long lost son of legendary fighter Apollo Creed heads to Philly to recruit the one and only Italian Stallion to train him for the big leagues. It is BRBR's first trip to the Rocky Universe and we couldn't be more excited. Since I haven't seen any of the Creed flicks and also in light of Creed III just dropping, the crew and I figured we'd cover the original. I've heard plenty of great things about the series and just had to drop yet another BRBR First Watch for you guys. Man, March has been a month of firsts right out the gate! While it has its fair share of great moments, there's also plenty of cheese and nostalgia wrapped in because, well, it's tied to the other Rocky movies. And although it's certainly not the best fighting film there ever was, it definitely lands some blows in regards to the second half. Just go ahead and prepare yourselves for boxing puns, right? I shouldn't even have to warn y'all haha you know what podcast this is! Can Adonis Creed recruit Rocky to train him, make a legacy of his own and leave these bad reviewers on the canvas? • Grab a stillsuit and maybe a thumper or two because this week we are taking the outerworlders of Arrakis to the world of BRBR with 2021's sci-fi revamp of Dune! While House Atreides seems to be played into a deadly trap, the Duke's son sets out not only to understand this political pitfall but his strange, futuristic visions as well. Y'all this was once more a BRBR First Watch and I can't believe I've been sleeping on this one for nearly two years! Not only was it visually stunning but the story, action and overall plot of the film was absolutely fantastic. Being based off of an 11 book series dating back to 1965 and its original counterpart released in 1984 of the same name, this revamp was bound to make a splash. Or, really make a mess of people's floors because sand, right? While it's a bit to take in at first as they set up the characters and storyline, it's absolutely worth the watch if you've never seen it. With a stellar cast, some outstanding visuals and plenty of interesting characters, the sandy stretches of Arrakis will leave you wanting more and probably a little thirsty. Can Paul Atreides avenge his father, make sense of his visions and leave these bad reviewers for the sandworms? Tune in to find out!

And yes, I am well aware that it's no longer the special day of love, but you know what? Sometimes you just don't get your podcast episodes up when you want to. So enter Jennifer Garner and pre-Hulk fame Mark Ruffalo as we wish upon a dream house this week in 13 Going on 30! In this one, our lead gal can't wait to grow up and wishes upon a magically dusty dream house that ages her 17 years in just one night. And honestly, the crew and I couldn't decide whether we wanted to cover a serious classic of a romance movie or just something we could have fun with and laugh at, so somehow we ended up on this one. It's also a BRBR First Watch as I'd never bothered to sit down and watch this goofy rom-com before now. • WILSON!!! You may not believe it, but Tom Hanks is back on BRBR with his tiny, round friend, Wilson. This week we set a course for a remote island via a FedEx cargo plane with the turn-of-the-century classic, Cast Away. After surviving a horrific plane crash in the middle of the Pacific, FedEx executive Chuck Noland finds himself stranded on a deserted island. Oh man, I've waited so long to cover this one and am so excited it's finally here. Cast Away is just one of those movies that almost everyone has seen (or, at least, heard of) and either absolutely love the film or would much rather see the final footage dropped in the middle of the ocean as well. It certainly isn't a perfect flick by any means and has plenty of goofy acting and outlandish CGI. (Heh, get it? Outlandish? Because he's surrounded by water on the island? Oh well, I liked the joke) But if there's anything that we can take from this film, it's that none of us can ever say the name "Wilson" the same ever again. I almost feel like you HAVE to yell it now when you say it, right? Can Tom Hanks and Wilson work together to get off the island, return the mysterious angel wings package and leave these bad reviewers in their port-a-potty sailboat wake? Tune in to find out!

  • Grab some popcorn and maybe a turtle because it's once again time for a classic "BRBR First Watch!" That's right! This week we are finally watching the ever so infamous, Dana Carvey comedy The Master of Disguise. It's up to Pistachio to uncover his family's legacy of disguising and save his mama and papa from a criminal mastermind. Despite it being one of the lowest rated movies we know today, it was actually a commissioned episode! And with being super grateful for the support, we had to venture into disguisey territory for you amazing viewers. I honestly knew nothing about this movie going into my first watch of it aside from a few lines and funny quotes. I mean, come on, love it or hate it people everywhere were quoting ridiculous gags from this one back in the early 2000s. But, not knowing anything was probably my best bet for this disguised disaster as I went in with a optimistically high bar! While I certainly love Dana Carvey, more so for his legendary role as Garth, this one was just a little bit too much in a, well, "turtley" sort of way for him. Can Pistachio uncover his family's legacy, rescue his parents and slap "who's your daddy?" into these bad reviewers? Tune in to find out!

  • Cue some of the finest (and flightless) agents the world has ever seen! Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and the adorable yet brave, Private. This week we look at the second successful spinoff from Dreamworks Animations with Penguins of Madagascar! With a diabolical octopus named Dave on the loose, it's up to our famous four heroes to stop him before he can exact his revenge on penguins everywhere. It is SUCH a random flick that was spawned from the Madagascar series of films but honestly, these boys were some of the more memorable side characters from those. I just so happened to catch it on a whim on Netflix a few years back and honestly? I was pleasantly surprised! As Madagascar grew into something that didn't really feel so new or original anymore, I am so glad they decided to give this crew their very own feature film. I am no huge Madagascar fan, but heck, I'm so glad they were at least given the chance to take over the big screen without Marty or Alex. With some clever writing, fun animation and special agent penguins being special agent penguins, this one is still a really fun watch. Can our favorite "high one-ing" batch of hatchlings stop Dave, get along with The North Wind and blast past these bad reviewers into the glorious future? Tune in to find out!

  • If you’ve been wondering just how on earth the Rebellion obtained those Death Star plans or, more simply, what the internet would have to say about a Star Wars spinoff movie that showed exactly that, then worry no more! This week BRBR brings the first live action Star Wars Story to the world of internet hate and ridiculous movie reviews. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story lays out for us the days leading up to the events of Episode IV. And since we have previously covered A New Hope last year and saw just what these bad reviewers had to offer with that one, I figured why not throw in a spinoff movie as our next venture into the galaxy far, far away. Just like with anything Star Wars related, this film has its fair share of die hard fans and die hard haters. It was something that even I didn’t particularly enjoy at my first viewing when it debuted, but now have come around to see the true Star Wars magic that’s still captured in this prequel to the original. Can Jyn and Cassian obtain the Death Star plans, light a fire under the Rebellion and let these bad reviewers know that that’s no second moon in the sky but a fully, functional planet killing space station? Tune in to find out!

  • Wait... We made it into the 5k Download Club? I guess all we can do now is say thank you and celebrate! This week we are looking at, well, to be frank, no movies but all of you wonderful listeners. That’s right! Once more this year we decided to put together a special episode to not only thank everyone for listening this year, but also to shout you out on the show. Because let’s be real, if it wasn’t for y’all we wouldn’t be here. You continue to make the show what it is and for that we here at BRBR are forever grateful. Now just like our podiversary episode, I wanted to run a more narrated episode that featured plenty of other friendly listeners, supporters and friendly pods that I’ve come to know along the way. I put out the question of “What was a movie that you didn’t walk out of, but now looking back, wished you would have and WHY?” And honestly, y'all gave THE BEST and most hilarious answers. Thank you again for listening and supporting BRBR over the past year-ish. I seriously have so much fun running the show and creating new ridiculous episodes week in and week out and am so glad to hear that y’all are enjoying laughing along with me at these bad reviewers.

    Enjoy!
