  • Prepare to be swept into a whirlwind of cinematic bravado as we, Johnny Spoiler and Jordan Savage, dissect the unparalleled triumphs of Neon Studios at Cannes and scrutinize the artistic prowess behind Sean Baker's 'Anora.' Our vibrant exchange will traverse the landscape of high-concept films and Spielberg's mantra of simplicity, while also indulging in the luxuries and follies of Russian oligarchs. It's a rendezvous where societal punches aren't pulled and film narratives spar with the complexities of storytelling.

Transitioning from the silver screen to streaming platforms is like navigating a labyrinth for even the most storied filmmakers, and we're not afraid to tackle this maze head-on. With the 'staff picks' segment teetering on the edge of an endless abyss of content, we shine a spotlight on the indie charm of "The Unnameable" series. We peel back the layers of its Lovecraftian roots and indie ethos, revealing how a blend of fervent dedication and old-school horror has cemented this franchise into the pantheon of cult classics.

As we wind down, our conversation veers into the realm of the comical with musings on a potential Scooby-Doo watch party and the anticipation of our own Summer Slash extravaganza. Life throws curveballs, and we're here sharing the quirks and kinks in our plans, alongside the glee found in life's unscripted intermissions. Plus, brace yourself for a chuckle as I, Johnny Spoiler, grapple with the art of impersonating Porky Pig and conjure a whimsical parallel to the enigmatic Bloody Mary legend. Our show is more than just a discussion; it's a celebration of the unexpected joys and poignant reflections on creativity that keep us—and hopefully you—coming back for more.

  • Get ready to ride the rainbow of nostalgia with us, Johnny Spoiler and Jordan Savage, as we celebrate the 40th anniversary of 'Rainbow Brite and the Star Stealer.' Our vibrant discussion not only revisits the beloved '80s animation but also peels back the layers of its surprisingly anime-inspired artistry. It's a visual feast for the eyes and a feast for the soul as we dissect the film's enduring themes and the powerful pull of seasonal emotions. Plus, we couldn't help but tip our hats to the king of B-movies, Roger Corman, and debate the merits of his cinematic universe versus the future of the 'Planet of the Apes' series.

Vaulting from animation to live-action, our conversation takes unexpected turns. Ever wondered how Jeff Bridges would tackle the role of Grendel? We've got the scoop, alongside musings on how legendary figures like Corman continue to shape the film industry. We also can't help but chuckle over the industry's brightest talents and the curveballs they've thrown into the cinematic mix. This is the kind of chat where heartfelt laughter is guaranteed, and classic Disney animations get a tip of the hat for their timeless charm.

But wait, there's more! As we wade through the media maze shaped by YouTube and TikTok, we share some golden nuggets from actor interviews that have resurfaced for a digital age. Our reflections meander through Sharon Stone's memoir to a half-time review of 'Basic Instinct.' So, lean back, get comfy, and join us for an episode that promises to entertain and possibly spoil you with rich discussions on the films that have shaped our viewing experiences.

BONUS movie reaction: our classic episode featuring horror movie reactions to HIGHWAY TO HELL.

  • Get ready to strap in with Johnny Spoiler and Jordan Savage as we tear through the latest and greatest in the binge-worthy universe! We're not holding back on anything, from the anime hijinks of Black Lion OVA 1992 to musing over HBO's rebranding shenanigans. Michelangelo as the brooding survivor in a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles twist with the possibility of an R-Rated TMNT movie? You bet we've got some hot takes on that. Plus, we're turning the nostalgia up to eleven with Interstellar's IMAX return, marking a decade since it first blew our minds.

Hold onto your hedgehogs, folks! The buzz is real with Keanu Reeves potentially bringing some serious 'whoa' to Shadow in "Sonic 3." And the remake wheel keeps spinning, with "Sleepy Hollow" and "The Four Seasons" stirring up the pot. We're dishing out the deets on Amy Adams' transformation into "Nightbitch," and you won't want to miss our intrigue over Pamela Anderson's "The Last Showgirl" and the promise of a live-action "Masters of the Universe." We're bringing the curtain up on all the quirks and question marks of the latest film buzz.

Wrap up your day with a dose of laughter as we switch gears to comedy's finest with Tom Segura's sitcom dreams and Nikki Glaser's roasting expertise. We can't help but skewer the anime scene with its outlandishly named characters and storylines that defy gravity. Join us in rating the watchability of animated escapades with a touch of our trademark humor. It's a full plate of entertainment talk, served up with a side of snark and a sprinkle of insight – all waiting for you on Binge-Watchers Podcast.

Tonight’s movie is Black Lion or Fear the Black Lion OVA (1992) - It is (supposedly) 1580. Oda Nobunaga is on the verge of ruling Japan, with the aid of a powerful enforcer named Ginnai Doma - a samurai who has been turned into a ninja-killing cyborg. But an Iga ninja named Shishimaru is determined to avenge his brethren, at any cost.

    Bonus Episode:

Our Fist of the North Star review:

One of the best anime ever drawn! Fist Of The North Star Animated Featured from ‘86. And a few cherry-picked headlines from the greater universe of tv, movies, and pop culture - stay tuned or fast forward - LETS GO!!!

So this movie is like if you dropped Bruce Lee into Mad Max’s universe and asked him to save us all
then you would arrive at Kenshiro who is a supernatural martial artist betrayed by his brothers and his best friend over a woman, so that he is out of the way for the friend to steal the girl and one of evil brothers to win the mantle of a magical power Ken is supposed to inherit. Note when this movie was made the same animation team working and airing the anime show also worked on the movie
Based on an incredible manga called Fist of the Big Dipper.

This is noted as John Cena’s favorite anime.

James Avery, aka Shredder, aka Uncle Phil does the voice of fang in the English Dub.

Hokuto no Ken was released in Japan on VHS in 1988, two years after its theatrical release. The late release was due to the decision to animate a new ending. Unlike the theatrical version, in which Kenshiro falls unconscious during the final battle, the revised ending has both fighters still standing when they're about to deliver their mutual finishing blows before they're interrupted by Lin.

A version of the Italian dub that was released on VHS by Granata Press in 1993.

  • Talking about why werewolf movies are always underrated in cinema, and the discussion includes a movie that stands alone as featuring a Cybernetic Werewolf called Project Metalbeast. Plus James Caan, James Bond, and jumping for joy over this mysterious Sean Bean werewolf movie that may or not exist.

Tonight's movie is Project Metalbeast. A shadow branch of the US government wants to win the Cold War by engineering werewolf soldiers. They infiltrate a retired werewolf’s castle and instead of taking the werewolf into custody, they kill it, and take its blood. Then, Agent Sitcom played by Barry Bostwick decides to add cybernetic skin to his werewolf test subject because why wouldn’t you want your werewolf (Kane Hodder) to be impervious to silver bullets thus rendering it invincible to the only known way to stop a werewolf.

Tonight's movie gets compared to Bad Moon, Dog Soldiers, The Wolfman 2010, Trick 'r' Treat, Howling VI: The Freaks, and Ginger Snaps 2.

  • Join Johnny Spoiler and scream queen Jordan Savage as they brandish their wit and nostalgia in a journey through the enchanted lands of fantasy movies, beginning with a hearty banter on the cult favorite "Red Sonja." The duo doesn't hold back, diving into Arnold Schwarzenegger's larger-than-life on-set stories and the recent beat of his human heart beneath the legendary muscle—a pacemaker update that reminds us even icons have their battles. We'll navigate through the choppy waters of potential revivals from the spinach-chewing "Popeye" to the long-awaited swings of a "Happy Gilmore" sequel, all while stirring up the cauldron of anticipation and cherished recollections.

The clang of swords and the roar of dragons take center stage as we peel back the curtain on "Red Sonja's" tumultuous production tales. You'll get an earful about Arnold's unexpected leap from a cameo to a co-starring role and the hunt for a female lead who could stand toe-to-toe with the screen's mightiest warrior. The chapter unfolds, revealing "Red Sonja's" secret identity as possibly Marvel's first cinematic outing, setting the stage for a legacy long before comic book movies became Hollywood's behemoths. We cap off with a spirited critique of some of the film's most thrilling scenes—yes, including that unforgettable water fight sequence.

As we sheathe our swords from the on-screen escapades, Jordan and I retreat to the kingdom of childhood, where the echoes of laughter from epic backyard quests still linger. We reminisce about the days of cardboard castles and wrapping paper swords, drawing parallels between those simple joys and our current quests for moments of solitude and play. A dream ushers in a heartfelt conversation about the profound impact of those formative years, as we invite you to join us in this intimate roundtable, sharing your stories and continuing the dialogue that bridges the past, present, and future of our shared love for the fantastical.
