If there is one thing that has been exposed through our hyper-politicized climate over the past decade, it has been the political and ethnic idolatry that is deeply rooted in our society. One of those idols is erected in what is colloquially called, 'The Black Church".
Brandon calls it "bibliocentric, ethnic Theism". However, boiled down to the core it is idolatry and it is disheartening to see how many don't recognize it. Pastors like Jamal Bryant, who was run out of Baltimore, spend their time behind the Lord's pulpit rallying people toward hatred and covetousness. We set up a live stream to discuss it all and interacted with some listeners live while we analyzed some videos surrounding this issue.

In today's political climate, the American church, depending on who you speak with, is on the brink of a moral relapse or on the brink of a golden age. How did we get to such an impasse amongst Christians? Is DOGE that big a deal for Christians and their convictions? Where were those convictions the last 4 years? Are conservative Christians heartless for lacking sympathy for their neighbors affected by these grand changes?
Have we gone too far with our allegiance to government? Have we neglected the deep implications of what it means to be the (C)hurch? How does a Christian live in this new era of American history where there are both things to celebrate and mourn?
As we navigate these waters, Christians are reminded to revert back to their profession. This profession can be summed up into two words - believing loyalty. This loyalty belongs to God and only to God. It doesn't belong to democrats nor to republicans. Not to Trump. Nor to Obama, Biden, Clinton etc.
However, when this loyalty is lived out, there will be uncompromisable principles we, as Christians are called to stand firm in. And you should never move one inch on those principles...for anyone. How should we wade these waters faithfully rather than gleefully with bitter vengeance in our hearts toward our neighbors? Maybe Brandon will address some of this. Are we allowed to talk about marginalization and white Christians in the same breath? Is that really a thing? Do white-American Christians feel the pressure of the growing racial tension between ethnic subcultures in the country? Are they allowed to ask questions about it? Are Daren and Brandon, as black men, allowed to care?
Instead of asking these questions to the culture, the Christian ought to turn to scripture and the answers would be obvious. Though Daren and Brandon may be called uncle toms, coons and the other things...we're not under constant threat of being labeled a racist - a tension our white brothers and sisters are constantly experiencing.
This is UNDOUBETLDY a contentious conversation and we don't care. We brought on an OG listener, Alissa Hollander, who is a sister in Christ and is becoming a good friend to discuss the growing difficulties of being a white-American who loves the Lord...and isn't racist.

This is our first episode discussing the President elect, Donald J. Trump. Unfortunately, things seem to be going the exact way it went 8 years ago. We don't know if we have it in us to do the conservative apologetics that we did 4 years ago around the beginning of our podcast. What does a Christian have to do with politics? It is a good thing to vote based on (biblical) convictions. However, there is no human that can thwart the plans of God and it is necessary to remember this.
Trump, in his first 100 days has made ultra conservative moves and has dialed back the sexual revolutions indoctrinating schemes within government. We're rejoicing over this. But what about things like USAID and other Government cutbacks? Whey are so many people upset and burning with anger over this? We've received messages about MLK and about Trump...here is our response.

This is a conversation dissecting one aspect of the MLK narrative that we need to be willing to properly analyze. Who was MLK? Is he an American hero to be celebrated? Does he value what you value?
Who was he as a black American? Did he fight for values of black Americans? Who was he as a 'Christian'? Was he even a biblical Christian? This conversation gets pushed to the back of the bus (pun intended) far too often and it doesn't force us to confront a very, prolific name in American history. Even more - because of our silence, the tradition of his conjecture, oration and false theology continues to entrap many Americans in the most dangerous snare ever.

How many podcasts have you listened to on race? How many books? How many christian-based seminars have you sat in to be reminded that america has a race problem? How many times have you heard the christian retort, "no! America has a sin problem!"
I agree with the latter sentiment. However, even with all of this, it seems we've acquiesced to a toxic narrative that subverts the king-given mission of the church. The fruit is rearing its ugly head and it must be addressed ad nauseum! Our biggest threat isn't racism. Our biggest threat is how we have discussed it and are currently discussing it. What does it even mean to say, "Jesus is Our Peace". How then should we live based on this reality? Did you know that the entire LGBTQIA2S+ movement is built on deception and lies? No...really. Why don't more Christians seem to care? Why are more and more Christian placating to the world? Maybe, if your context is anything like ours, you've heard something like:
"You can be a Christian and gay!" or "Sure, its ok to go to a gay wedding!" or "I just use the pronouns because it is loving our neighbor". Wherever I turn, I see more and more Christians wanting to blend in with the way things are while simultaneously falling in disdain with early church history, biblical doctrine and a true pursuit of Jesus. Where are we headed? Why is the bride of Christ bending the knee to things that we are warned about time and time again throughout scripture. Jesus has called His followers to carry a cross. Our lives can be enjoyable...but there WILL be hardship for the true follower of Jesus. We pray that you are encouraged to stand firm and not deny Him the way the world commands you to.
