  • Welcome to The Hæckels Podcast.

    * A brief introductory note for brand new and previous listeners! This podcast was previously entitled 'The Blue Mind Podcast'. All existing episodes are available in the archives, and still offer a wonderful listening environment. The aim was always to give an 'evergreen' feel to the podcast, so you should experience that with the older episodes.

Welcome to the official Hæckels podcast, constructed entirely in our home here in Margate, on the South East Coast of England.

Hæckels underwent a rebranding during the Summer of 2022, known as 'Hæckels 2.0', and with that, we decided to refresh the podcast too.

Listeners to the previous iteration will have heard from guests directly or tangentially related to what we do here, or certainly within the surrounding vibe.

We would like to now turn the microphones around to.. well, all of us! You'll be gradually hearing from everyone in the team here who make Hæckels what it is today, which will be a lovely intro to the backstage of the company.

In this episode, you'll be hearing from Vanessa (Head of Nutrition), Gus (Head of Fragrance Production) and Robin (Head of Formulation).

Vanessa goes into awesome detail about the Gut Health Program she's been developing, as well as the general weird and wild universe that is the gut (and how it relates to basically every aspect of our daily lives). Following Vanessa, Gus and Robin talked about the behind the scenes world of fragrance and candle making, which is an essential element of the Hæckels foundation and a key part of what we do here. It's a great ep, with loads to enjoy for those new to what we do as well as those who've enjoyed Hæckels since day one!

  • The Blue Mind PodcastEpisode 9: Maldives Deep Dive•Welcome to the ninth episode of the Blue Mind podcast by Hæckels. Your listening bubble and audio escape hatch. In this episode, Buddy talks to marine biologist Amelia Cody, who works with Patina Maldives in the area of coral restoration and maintenance. You'll hear everything about the inner workings of what she does, but that's the overall frame. It's a fascinating world, a truly worthwhile path, and a thoroughly interesting process, about which Amelia explains the details and methods involved. The survival and preservation of coral is imperative for all of us, as is the health of the ocean, and this podcast will only go to prove once more how important the wild blue beast that occupies the majority of the world is.Amelia also covers what happens at Patina, a sumptuous and gorgeous resort which works in harmony with the ocean and environment, providing a perfect atmosphere and venue for unwinding but also offering holiday makers a suitable accompaniment to add to this oceanic harmony. Haeckels works with Patina in creating a range of products for various spots in the resort, made in close proximity to further embellish this harmony with sweet motifs and refrains. You can probably tell I'm in a musical mood while I type this... Enjoy, investigate further but mostly, relax into it.Lottie, our resident therapist and meditation guide is here to bring everything back to a place of grounded stillness, so stick around for the wonderful uniquely written meditation which rounds up the episode.•Blue Mind is an audio bubble providing an escape from the outside world. It’s a meditative project which will provide room for thought, calm, inspiration and information in the space of around an hour or so. There are guests, environment recordings, sound design elements and original music scoring, along with narration and guidance throughout, which concludes with a unique meditation. We truly hope you find your comfortable place in the podcast and enjoy the experience! Please follow the guests this week too as their work is outstanding, and genuinely inspiring.LINKSInstagram • https://www.instagram.com/ameliacody23Patina Maldives • https://patinahotels.com/maldives-fari-islands/Fari Islands • https://fari-islands.com/Comment, subscribe, share, get involved and let us know your thoughts. • The Blue Mind PodcastEpisode 8: The Surrealist Viewfinder•Welcome to the eighth episode of the Blue Mind podcast by Hæckels. Your listening bubble and audio escape hatch. In this episode, we're taking things on a slightly different path.In previous episodes, I've spoken to some incredible creative, innovative, fascinating people who have all been leading the way, shining lights, and carving a niche in their respective worlds. These worlds have often birthed new worlds in themselves, and the breadcrumb trails of creativity have been long and beautiful. This time, I'm looking at the life of an individual from history. In this case, a film maker from France who specialised in the biological and in the majority of cases, under the surface of the ocean. His name is Jean Painlevé, born on the turn of the 20th century. Jean's creative output was radical, unlike anything else, and to be frank - REALLY WEIRD. Sometimes 'really weird' can just be another way of saying 'very cool' though - and truly this is the case. You'll hear more through the course of the podcast, and in some ways I've approached Jean with a meditative style, using various cues from his life as a launching point for thoughts and observations, but in essence, this should be a nice intro and taster of a world that contains bizarre beauty.•Blue Mind is an audio bubble providing an escape from the outside world.
