What does it really mean to "hold the image?"
Growing up with Bob Proctor as my father, I heard those words almost every day.
"Hold the image."
"If you can see it in your mind, you can hold it in your hand."
They're inspiring statements—but they're much more than positive thinking or visualization.
In this episode, I unpack what my father truly meant by those words and why the picture you consistently hold in your mind quietly shapes the decisions you make, the opportunities you notice, and ultimately the life you create.
Every meaningful achievement begins twice—first mentally, then physically. The challenge is learning to remain faithful to your vision long before the evidence appears.
Inside this episode, we'll explore:
What it really means to "hold the image"Why every great achievement begins in the imaginationHow Imagination and Will work together to create resultsWhy so many people abandon their goals before success arrivesHow elite athletes use mental rehearsal to improve performanceThe connection between focus, emotion, belief, and achievementWhy your subconscious responds to the images you repeatedly rehearseA simple daily practice to strengthen your vision and stay focused on what you're creatingI also share personal stories from growing up with my father and explain why, even today, I still hear his voice reminding me:
"Hold the image."
Because when you choose your vision instead of reacting to your circumstances, you begin creating your life on purpose.

What if the greatest force shaping your life isn't your circumstances... but your beliefs?
In this episode of Born to Win, I explore one of the most important principles my father, Bob Proctor, taught throughout his life: people don't necessarily get what they want—they get what they believe they deserve.
We all have goals, dreams, and aspirations. But beneath every goal lies a deeper question:
Do you actually believe it's possible for you?
Because wanting something and believing in it are not the same thing.
In this episode, I'll show you how your beliefs influence your decisions, your habits, your self-image, and ultimately the results you experience. We'll explore why people stay stuck in familiar patterns, how limiting beliefs quietly shape everyday life, and—most importantly—how you can begin changing them.
We'll discuss:
Why belief is the invisible force behind every resultThe difference between desire and beliefHow paradigms quietly keep you living the same patternsWhy your brain constantly looks for evidence to support your beliefsThe connection between belief, self-image, and lasting successWhy action strengthens belief—and belief strengthens actionA simple practice to begin replacing limiting beliefs with empowering onesMy father often reminded us that "The only limits on life are the ones we impose on ourselves." I believe those limits are, at their core, beliefs.
The encouraging news is this: beliefs are learned—which means they can be changed.
So if you've ever felt like you're capable of more, but something invisible keeps holding you back, this episode is for you.

Today, I’m sharing a powerful message because I believe someone needs to hear it right now. The heart of the message is simple:
Stop drifting.
Too many people already know what they need to do. They know the conversation they need to have. The dream they want to pursue. The decision they need to make.
But instead of acting, they wait.
They wait until they have the perfect plan. They wait until they feel ready. They wait until fear disappears.
I’ve learned from my father, Bob Proctor, that life doesn’t change when you finally figure everything out.
Life changes the moment you decide.
In this special edition, I share personal stories, lessons from my father, and practical ideas that have transformed my own life—from building our dream home to learning how to move beyond limiting beliefs and stop letting "the how" keep me stuck.
Inside this episode, we explore:
• Why drifting quietly steals years from your life• The power of making a committed decision before you know every step• Why clarity follows action—not the other way around• How limiting beliefs keep you from pursuing what you really want• The importance of entering into the spirit of your goal• Why your self-image determines the results you create• How to stop waiting for certainty and begin trusting yourself• The difference between knowing these principles and actually living them
More than anything, I want this episode to encourage you to ask one simple question:
What do I really want?
And then...
Take the first step.
Because one decision can alter the trajectory of your life.
Simplified Success in 15 Minutes or Less. (Well... almost. This special edition is worth the extra time.)

Spoiler alert: This is my favorite episode of Born to Win so far!
In this episode, I explore a powerful idea that influenced my father, Bob Proctor, and many of the great thinkers he studied throughout his life.
It comes from the writings of Thomas Troward and centers around a simple but transformational question:
What does it mean to enter into the spirit of something?
Because many people go through life physically present but mentally absent.
They show up.They perform the actions. They complete the tasks.
But they never fully enter into what they are doing.
And that changes everything.
In this episode, I discuss why two people can do the exact same thing and have completely different experiences—and why the difference is often found in the spirit they bring to it.
Inside this episode, I explore:
• What Thomas Troward meant by "the spirit of life"• Why presence is one of the most powerful habits you can develop• How focus increases your effectiveness and energy• The difference between doing something and fully entering into it• Why gratitude is more than a practice—it's a state of being• How self-image influences the spirit from which you operate• Why goals, affirmations, and visualization only work when you emotionally engage with them• The connection between authenticity, conviction, and results• How distraction pulls us away from the richness of life• A simple exercise to help you bring a new spirit into an important area of your life
I also share personal observations about my father and what made him so impactful—not just his knowledge, but his ability to be fully present and fully engaged in whatever he was doing.
Here's the key idea I want you to remember:
Success is not only about what you do.
It's about the spirit you bring to what you do.
When you enter fully into your work, your relationships, your goals, and your life, everything begins to deepen.
Your focus sharpens.Your energy changes.Your results improve.
This episode is about moving from participation to presence—and discovering what becomes possible when you are truly where your feet are.

In this episode, I step away from the Universal Laws series to explore something equally important—your Higher Mental Faculties.
These are the mental tools that separate us from simply reacting to life and allow us to consciously create it.
My father, Bob Proctor, taught that while we all learn about our five physical senses, very few people are ever taught about the six higher faculties that shape our thoughts, decisions, emotions, and results.
These faculties are always available to us, but most people never intentionally develop them.
In this episode, I walk through each of the six Higher Mental Faculties:
• Imagination• Perception• Reason• Intuition• Will• Memory
You'll discover how these faculties influence your daily life, your emotional state, your decision-making, and your ability to create the future you want.
We'll explore:
• Why most people live reactively instead of creatively• How imagination becomes the blueprint for results• The role perception plays in shaping experience• Why reason helps you take control of your thinking• How to strengthen and trust your intuition• The importance of developing willpower in a distracted world• How memory can support growth—or keep you stuck• Why these faculties deserve ongoing study and practice• How the higher faculties connect to the Universal Laws• Practical ways to strengthen each faculty throughout the week
I also share lessons my father taught about consciously directing your mind instead of allowing circumstances, conditioning, or emotions to direct it for you.
Here's the key idea I want you to remember:
Your Higher Mental Faculties are some of the most powerful tools you possess.
When you begin using them intentionally, you stop drifting through life and start directing it with greater awareness, clarity, and purpose.
This episode is about becoming more conscious, more intentional, and more capable of creating the life you truly want.

In this episode, I conclude our series on the universal laws my father, Bob Proctor, taught throughout his life.
Today, we explore a law that has the power to immediately reduce stress, ease emotional overwhelm, and help you see your circumstances from a completely different perspective:
The Law of Relativity.
This law teaches that nothing has meaning until it is compared to something else.
No situation is inherently big or small. No challenge is automatically overwhelming. No setback is permanently defining.
The meaning we assign to our experiences is often shaped by the comparisons we make and the perspective we choose.
When you understand this law, you begin to realize that many of the problems that feel overwhelming are often being magnified by the way you're measuring them.
In this episode, we explore:
• What the Law of Relativity really means• Why perspective influences your emotional experience• How comparison shapes your thoughts and feelings• The role of reason as one of our higher mental faculties• Why social media can distort perspective and self-worth• How gratitude shifts your point of comparison• The psychology behind cognitive appraisal and interpretation• Why emotional regulation begins with awareness• How to stop magnifying problems unnecessarily• Practical ways to zoom out and see the bigger picture
I also share several examples my father taught over the years about perspective, comparison, and why no problem should ever become bigger than you are.
Here's the key idea I want you to remember:
Most of the time, we are not reacting to reality itself.
We are reacting to our interpretation of reality.
And when perspective changes, your experience changes.
This episode is about developing greater awareness, strengthening emotional resilience, and learning how to see your life through a wider lens.

In this episode, I continue our series on the universal laws my father, Bob Proctor, taught throughout his life.
Today, we explore one of the most powerful and practical laws of all:
The Law of Polarity.
This law teaches that everything has an opposite.Every condition.Every circumstance.Every experience.
And understanding that simple truth can completely change the way you view challenges, setbacks, and uncertainty.
Most people become emotionally trapped by what they see in the moment.
A setback feels permanent.A disappointment feels final.A challenge feels like proof that something is wrong.
But the Law of Polarity teaches something very different.
It teaches that every condition contains its opposite.
Every setback contains opportunity.Every fear contains courage.Every challenge contains growth.Every problem contains a solution.
In this episode, I explore:
– What the Law of Polarity really means– Why opposites are connected, not separate– How perception shapes your experience of life– The six higher mental faculties my father taught– Why perception is one of your greatest powers– How your focus determines which "pole" you move toward– The role cognitive reframing plays in personal growth– Why temporary conditions should never become permanent identities– How to find opportunity inside difficult situations– Practical ways to shift your perspective when life gets challenging
I also share a powerful exercise my father used whenever he was facing a problem, along with lessons he taught me growing up about finding the good in every situation.
Here's the key idea I want you to remember:
No condition is complete in itself.
If one pole exists, its opposite exists too.
And the moment you learn to look beyond appearances, you begin to see possibility where others only see problems.
This episode is about expanding your perception, finding opportunity in unexpected places, and learning to live with greater faith, awareness, and understanding.

In this episode, I do something a little different.
Over the past three years, I’ve written three books, and this month I released my newest one:Quit Screwing Around — This Is Your Life (https://www.brianproctor.com/quitscrewingaround)
This phrase was something my father, Bob Proctor, said to me often growing up. And he always meant it with love.
It wasn’t criticism. It was a wake-up call.
A reminder to stop drifting...Stop waiting...And start fully living.
In this episode, I read directly from the new book and share some of the most important lessons around decision, resilience, self-talk, growth, and personal responsibility.
Because every meaningful change in life begins with a decision.
Not a wish.Not a hope.A decision.
I talk about why certainty follows commitment, how failure becomes feedback, and why the way we interpret challenges determines so much about the direction of our lives.
Inside this episode, I walk through:
• Why decision directs energy and creates momentum• How resilience is built through setbacks and adjustment• Why supportive self-talk matters• The importance of asking better questions• How identity is shaped through repeated emotional experiences• Why most people stay stuck in indecision• The neuroscience behind commitment and focus• Why your environment and conditioning influence your results• The role awareness plays in personal transformation• How your inner voice shapes your future
I also share personal stories about my father, Bob Proctor, and the lessons he reinforced throughout my life about courage, growth, and trusting yourself enough to move forward.
Here’s the key idea I want you to remember:
You do not need to feel ready before you decide.
Decision comes first.Then growth begins.
This episode is about waking up…taking ownership of your life…and becoming the person you know you’re capable of becoming.

In this episode, I continue our series on the laws of life by exploring one of the most practical and empowering principles my father, Bob Proctor, taught:
The Law of Perpetual Transmutation of Energy.
Energy is always moving.Always changing form. And because of that… change is always available to you.
This law explains why no emotional state is permanent…why feeling stuck is never final…and why your energy can always be shifted.
I talk about:
How thoughts and emotions become resultsWhy energy is constantly transformingThe connection between focus and emotional stateHow action changes energyWhy most people reinforce the very state they want to escapeThe difference between reacting to your state and directing itHow higher energy transforms lower energyAnd why small shifts repeated consistently create momentumI also share one of my father’s most powerful demonstrations using a glass of dark coffee and fresh water to explain how real transformation happens.
The key idea is this:
You don’t eliminate lower energy states by fighting them. You replace them with something stronger.
When you understand this law, you stop identifying with temporary feelings and start recognizing your ability to shift your state intentionally.
Because your current energy is not fixed.
It’s fluid.
And once you understand that…you stop waiting for change and begin creating it.

Most people are taught to trade time for money: Work more hours... Get another paycheck... Hope for a raise...
But my father, Bob Proctor, taught something completely different:
Income is tied to value.
In this episode, I break down the Law of Compensation and explain Earl Nightingale’s powerful formula:
The need for what you doYour ability to do itAnd the difficulty there is in replacing youI also connect this principle to one of the most important wealth-building ideas my father taught: MSI — Multiple Sources of Income.
Because relying on one source of income creates vulnerability. But learning how to create value in multiple ways creates stability, opportunity, and freedom.
I talk about:
Why income is always an effectHow value becomes the causeThe difference between earning and creatingThe M1, M2, and M3 income modelsWhy most people stay financially stuckHow identity influences wealthAnd how small, consistent actions build long-term expansionThe key idea I want you to remember is this:
Income expands when value multiplies.
And value multiplies when you commit to becoming more, learning more, serving more, and creating more.

In this episode, I continue our series on the laws of life—the universal principles my father taught me that govern every result we experience.
Today, I’m walking you through a law that can completely change how you handle progress, patience, and persistence:
The Law of Gender — the understanding that there is always a gestation period.
This is the law that explains why your results don’t show up immediately… even when you’re doing the right things. And if you don’t understand this, it becomes very easy to quit too soon.
I’ve intentionally introduced this law early in the series because I’ve seen how often people abandon goals—not because they’re wrong—but because they don’t see results fast enough.
In this episode, I break down:
• What the Law of Gender really means (and what it doesn’t)• Why “gender” refers to complementary energies—not male vs. female• How creation always requires both action and allowing• Why there is always a gap between cause and visible results• How impatience disrupts progress• What’s really happening during the “invisible phase”• Why consistency and emotional stability matter during growth• How paradigms shift over time—not instantly
Here’s the key idea I want you to walk away with:
Just because you don’t see results… doesn’t mean nothing is happening.
In fact, some of the most important work is happening beneath the surface.
Your thinking is changing.Your identity is evolving.Your patterns are shifting.
But if you interrupt that process too soon… you reset the entire cycle.
This episode will help you stay steady when doubt shows up. Because when you understand that there is always a gestation period… you stop forcing results, and you start trusting the process.

In this episode, I continue the series on the laws of life—the universal principles my father taught me that govern every result we experience.
Today, we’re diving into one of the most foundational laws of all:
The Law of Cause and Effect.
This is the law that explains why things happen the way they do.
And when you really understand it… it changes how you see everything.
Because here’s the truth: Nothing happens by chance. Every result you’re experiencing—your patterns, your outcomes, your circumstances—is connected to something that caused it.
Now, that’s not meant to place blame. It’s meant to give you power. Because even if you didn’t consciously create a situation… you always have influence over what you do next.
In this episode, I break down:
• What the Law of Cause and Effect really means (and what it doesn’t)• Why results are not the place to create change• How your thoughts and feelings act as the true cause• The role your paradigm plays in shaping your outcomes• Why “luck” is often misunderstood consistency• The difference between living as a thermometer vs. a thermostat• How to stop reacting to life—and start creating it on purpose
Most people spend their time trying to fix effects.
They focus on what they can see.
But real change doesn’t happen there.
It happens at the level of cause.
Your thinking.Your habits.Your identity.
That’s where your power is.
Because once you understand this law… you stop asking, “Why is this happening to me?”
And you start asking, “What is causing this… and what can I change?”
That shift changes everything.

This episode marks the beginning of a new series I’ve been wanting to share with you for a long time.
We’re going to explore what my father Bob Proctor taught me as the laws of life—the universal principles that govern results, whether we’re aware of them or not.
And I want to start with one that is influencing you every single day…
The Law of Rhythm.
In this episode, I walk you through something that can completely change how you interpret your life:
Everything moves in cycles.
Your energy.Your emotions.Your focus.Your results.
Nothing is static.
And when you don’t understand that… it’s easy to misinterpret a temporary dip as failure. You start second-guessing yourself. You lose momentum. And sometimes… you quit too early.
But what if that “low” you’re experiencing isn’t a problem?
What if it’s part of the process?
In this episode, I share:
• What the Law of Rhythm really is—and how it shows up in your life• Why your “off days” are not signs of failure• The difference between acting based on emotion vs. decision• How to stay steady when your energy dips• The mindset shift that separates amateurs from professionals• How to use rhythm to build consistency and momentum
One of the most powerful things my father ever said in his final days was:
“Follow universal laws—and you cannot lose.”
That stayed with me.
Because when you understand these laws…You stop reacting to life…And you start working with it.
You begin to trust the process.
You stop riding the emotional highs and lows…And you learn how to stay centered—no matter what phase you’re in.
Because success isn’t about being “on” all the time.
It’s about staying consistent through the rhythm.

Most people never stop to question the thoughts running through their mind.
But here’s something I want you to really consider:
Not every thought you think is true... And not every thought deserves your attention.
In this episode of Born to Win, I’m diving into what I call mental gatekeeping—the ability to consciously choose which thoughts you entertain and which ones you let pass.
Because your life is not shaped by every thought that enters your mind… It’s shaped by the ones you give energy to.
What I’ve learned, both through my own experience and from my father’s teachings, is that most of our thinking is automatic. It’s conditioned. It’s repeated. And if we’re not careful, we begin to accept those thoughts as facts—without ever questioning where they came from.
In this episode, I break down:
• Why most of your thoughts are not consciously chosen• How unexamined thinking becomes belief—and then behavior• What my father taught about the conscious and subconscious mind• How to use your higher mental faculty of reason as a filter• The connection between attention, repetition, and neuroplasticity• A simple, practical way to replace disempowering thoughts with constructive ones
This is not about controlling every thought.
It’s about becoming aware enough to choose better ones.
Because the moment you realize you don’t have to believe every thought you think…
You take your power back.
And when you begin choosing your thoughts intentionally—You begin building your life intentionally.

There’s a fine line that separates winning from losing.
And from where I stand, that line is much thinner than most people think.
In this episode of Born to Win, I talk about what my father Bob Proctor often referred to through observation and study—the idea that success and struggle are not separated by massive gaps, but by small, consistent decisions made over time.
What I’ve come to understand is this:
The difference is often found in the details.
The small habits. The quiet choices. The adjustments you make daily.
That’s what we call the razor’s edge.
When you’re in the middle of struggle, it can feel like you’re miles away from where you want to be. But in reality, the shift often comes from refining how you think, how you act, and how consistently you show up.
In this episode, I share:
• Why small, consistent actions matter more than dramatic changes• The role of curiosity and continuous learning in long-term success• What I learned from my father about being a lifelong student• How compounding works in your habits and decisions• Why awareness is the starting point for meaningful change
I also reflect on something powerful I witnessed in people like my father and others who achieved meaningful results:
They didn’t rely on talent alone.
They stayed committed. They stayed curious. And they kept adjusting.
Because success is not about one big moment.
It’s about staying on the edge—refining, improving, and continuing.
That’s where growth happens.
That’s where results begin to change.

Whether we realize it or not, every one of us is living inside a story.
And that story is shaping the direction of our entire life.
In this episode of Born to Win, I talk about something my father, Bob Proctor, taught for decades — the idea that our lives are not controlled by our conditions, but by our conditioning.
Most of the beliefs we carry about money, success, relationships, and our own capabilities weren’t consciously chosen. They were absorbed through repetition, environment, and early experiences. Over time, those ideas formed what my father called a paradigm — a mental program stored in the subconscious mind that influences our behavior and results.
Inside every paradigm is a story. A quiet internal narrative that interprets everything we experience.
In this episode, I explore how that internal story shapes what we notice, how we respond, and ultimately the results we create in our lives.
I also talk about:
• Why many of our beliefs were accepted long before we could question them• How paradigms influence our decisions and behaviors• The role of self-talk in reinforcing our internal narrative• Why modern neuroscience supports many of these ideas• How repetition and awareness can begin changing the story
My father often reminded us that we become what we think about. I would add that we also become the story we consistently tell ourselves.
The powerful part is this:
You are not stuck with the story you were given.
You are the author of the next chapter.
And when you begin intentionally choosing new ideas about who you are and what is possible, your behavior begins to change — and your life starts to change with it.

If you study the lives of people who accomplish meaningful things, you’ll notice a pattern.
They fall down. And they get up.Then they fall down again. And they get up again.
That cycle isn’t failure.
It’s growth in motion.
In this episode of Born to Win, I talk about resilience — and why personal growth always includes uncertainty, discomfort, and the occasional stumble.
Somewhere along the way, many of us forget something we understood naturally as children: falling is part of learning. A child learning to walk falls again and again, and no one tells them walking might not be for them. Instead, everyone cheers.
But as adults, we often interpret setbacks as a signal to stop.
In this episode, I explore why resilience is built through motion — not perfection — and why learning to move through fear, doubt, and discomfort is essential for real progress.
I also talk about:
• Why growth rarely happens in a straight line• How small daily habits build resilience• Why caring for your body and relationships strengthens your foundation• The role of the “Terror Barrier” when pursuing something new• Why setbacks are feedback — not failure
Every time you move through fear and continue forward, your self-image expands. Your confidence grows. And you begin to see what you’re truly capable of.
Because resilience isn’t about avoiding difficulty.
It’s about learning, adjusting, and continuing.
And step by step, you build a meaningful life.

Have you ever caught yourself thinking:
Maybe things would be better… somewhere else.
Another job.Another city.Another opportunity.Another environment.
In this episode of Born to Win, I revisit a powerful idea inspired by one of my father’s mentors, Earl Nightingale — the myth of greener pastures.
It’s easy to believe that fulfillment lives somewhere else. Especially in a world where social media constantly shows us carefully curated images of other people’s lives. But the truth is, the grass isn’t greener somewhere else.
It’s greener where it’s watered.
In this episode, I explore the difference between growth and escape — and why real progress comes from cultivating who you are, not constantly changing where you are.
I also share:
• Why comparison weakens your field• How identity follows you wherever you go• The power of asking, “Did I do my best?”• Why gratitude strengthens the ground you stand on• How the Law of Compensation rewards value and mastery
Most people assume they need new soil.
But often what we really need is new thinking.
Because wherever you go… there you are.
And when you focus on developing yourself — sharpening your skills, improving your mindset, and adding more value — something remarkable happens:
You stop searching for greener pastures.
You become the greener pasture.

For nearly thirty years, I worked alongside my father, Bob Proctor, helping people understand the principles that shape success, belief, and personal growth.
One question came up again and again:
“Why isn’t this taught in schools?”
Why don’t we teach young people how their mind works? Why don’t we teach them how beliefs are formed? Why don’t we teach decision-making, emotional awareness, resilience, and self-image?
In this episode of Born to Win, we reflect on the lessons I absorbed growing up with Bob Proctor — and why understanding the inner mechanics of thinking may be one of the most important forms of education a person can receive.
You’ll discover why:
• Self-awareness is the starting point of growth• Beliefs are learned — and can be upgraded• Responsibility creates empowerment• Curiosity leads to progress• Emotional intelligence is a lifelong advantage• Quiet, consistent conversations can shape a child’s identity
I also share a personal story about a simple nightly ritual my father practiced with me as a child — a moment of connection that quietly built confidence, imagination, and belief.
Because education should prepare us for more than a career...
It should prepare us for life.
And when someone learns how to think with intention, question inherited ideas, and consciously choose beliefs that support growth — they gain something no circumstance can take away.

Have you ever noticed how two people can earn the same income… and yet one feels abundant while the other feels constantly anxious about money?
Same economy.Same opportunities.Completely different experience.
Why?
Because prosperity isn’t just about income. It’s about consciousness.
In this episode of Born to Win, we explors your relationship with money — not from a budgeting or investing perspective, but from the level where real change begins: your prosperity paradigm.
Money is rarely just money. It becomes tied to identity, security, self-worth, and fear.
And most of those associations were formed long before you earned your first paycheck.
In this episode, I break down:
Why repetition creates familiarity — not truth
How fear constricts financial flow
Why money is a neutral vehicle for value
The Law of Compensation and Earl Nightingale’s Formula
The difference between “mental money” and physical money
Why generosity builds abundance
How circulation creates opportunity
You’ll also hear personal reflections on how my father Bob Proctor lived these principles — especially during the years when money was tight and belief mattered most.
Because prosperity doesn’t begin in a bank account.
It begins in the mind.
And once you change the way you think about money, you change the way money responds to you.
