THE CELTICS SWEEP THE PACERS AND ARE HEADING TO THE NBA FINALS!!!! Jaylen Brown won the Eastern Conference Finals MVP deservedly so. He was spectacular this series and in this game. He had 10pts in the 4th quarter and a couple of monster defensive plays down the stretch as well as the assist to White for the 3 that put the Celtics up 105-102. After missing out on an All-Defensive nod and and All-NBA nod, I'm super happy for him to get some recognition.
Past JB, we had phenomenal contributions from a lot of guys. Holiday continued his dominance on both sides of the ball, Tatum was very unselfish and was just 2ast shy of a triple double, Derrick White obviously hit that go ahead 3 I just talked about but he also had 5 steals and 3 blocks which is insane to say. This was another unbelievable comeback victory from the C's. NBA Finals here we come!!!

The Celtics found themselves down 18pts in this game and mounted an incredible comeback to win 114-111! Tatum led the way scoring wise with 36 but it was Al Horford who stuck out the most to me. He had 23pts on 7-12 from deep and seemed to hit every big shot we needed from him. Holiday certainly struggled from the field for most of this game but had a huge And 1 to go up 112-111 and then a monster steal that led to 2 more FTs to ice the game at 114-111.
Our entire starting lineup made big play after big play down the stretch which is good because we got absolutely nothing from our bench. Pritchard, who has been solid, didn't do a whole lot. Hauser has continued his awful stretch of basketball. While Brissett played well in Game 2, he didn't look very good either but credit to Mazzulla for not sticking with him long and giving Tillman some run because he looked solid out there. This was another game the Celtics had no business winning but they found a way and that is the most encouraging part! On to the next one!!

The Celtics blow out the Pacers 126-110 taking a commanding 2-0 series lead. Jaylen Brown led the way with 40pts and was damn near unstoppable in this game on both sides of the ball. Jrue Holiday played another outstanding game with both Tatum and White playing well in the second half. They were both pretty horrible in the first but they turned on the jets in the 2nd half lol.
While JB should be the story of this game, Tyrese Haliburton leaving the game might take some of the headlines. He left in the third quarter and did not return so that is a major question mark come game 3. Funny enough, the Pacers scored more in the 2nd half than they did in the first half with him out there BUT they had to rely on Siakam going off and I don't know how sustainable that is over the long term if Haliburton can't play or not. Either way, this was a solid win. Onto Game 3!!

WOW the Celtics beat the Pacers 133-128 in OT taking a 1-0 series lead in the Eastern Conference Finals. This game was as nerve wracking and fun as it gets. The Celtics were down 115-110 with just under 2 minutes to play and forced an OT after JB deflected an inbounds off Siakam giving them the ball down 3 with 8 seconds left. He then went on to hit a ridiculously hard corner 3 tying the game forcing an OT silencing all the haters who keep saying the Celtics can't perform in the clutch.
JB deserves a ton of credit for 2 massive plays down the stretch but Holiday may have put together his best game of the postseason for the C's. He was doing everything tonight and Tatum wasn't far off either. Tatum certainly missed his fair share of shots down the stretch but he also came up big in OT with 10 of the Celtics 16pts! This game was far from perfect and hopefully the Celtics learn from this and come out with a greater sense of urgency in Game 2. We need to play Celtics basketball and stop trying to match the pace of the Pacers because that is dangerous territory against Indy. Onto Game 2!!!

The Celtics beat the Cavs 113-98 and win the series 4 games to 1 advancing to their 3rd straight Eastern Conference Finals! This game was played without Mitchell, Allen and LeVert for the Cavs and it was probably closer than it should have been BUT it doesn't matter how you win in the playoffs as long as you win! This game was dominated by Al Horford. He had 22pts breaking out of his 3pt slump and hit 6-13 from deep. He also had 15reb, 7 of which were offensive. He dialed back the clock and pulled out a monster performance.
With the Celtics back in the Eastern Conference Finals, the only question left is, who will they be playing? Will it be a beat up Knicks team led by superstar Jalen Brunson or the young Indiana Pacers with Nesmith trying to go on a revenge tour? In my opinion, this should be another 5 game series either way regardless of Porzingis playing or not. It sounds like Porzingis could be making a return by then with the series not starting till Sunday or Tuesday of next week depending on when that series wraps up. Either way, lets get it Celtics fam!

The Celtics beat the Cavs 109-102 and take a 3-1 series lead giving themselves a chance to close it out on our home court on Wednesday! About an hour before tip, news spread that the Cavs were going to be without Donovan Mitchell and this game did not go the way that Celtics fans were expecting. With that being said, give the Cavs some credit because they put together a solid game without their biggest star.
This game was won with great play from Jrue Holiday who made a huge impact on the game on both sides of the ball. It was won because Tatum had a monster first half scoring and JB had a monster second half scoring. It was also won because Mazzulla coached very very well. The Cavs were 11-25 in the first half from 3 because the Celtics were over helping on everything giving the Cavs open 3 after open 3. That all changed in the second half and it led to a 4-23 shooting performance. He also won a huge challenge on a Horford blocked shot down the stretch. It wasn't a perfect win but in the playoffs, the only thing that matters is the result. We're onto Game 5!

The Celtics beat the Cavs 106-93 and take a 2-1 series lead! Both of our superstars stepped it up big in this game. JB scored 28pts along with 9reb on an insanely efficient 13-17 from the field. Tatum, although he was less efficient, scored 33pts along with 13reb and 6ast and had a massive footprint in this win. While both of those guys were great, that wouldn't have been enough to beat this Cavs team.
That's where Jrue Holiday comes in. This wasn't a great game from White and it was a horrible game from Horford but Holiday was incredible. He scored 18pts on 7-10 from the field and 3-4 from deep. It was huge seeing him step up because he hasn't looked great on the offensive side of the ball this postseason. Defensively, the Celtics did have some issues defending the pick and roll BUT Mazzulla made some adjustments that most people will ignore and changed the matchups and moved the pickup points way higher minimizing those situations in the second half. Overall, it's a solid win. We're on to Game 4!

After a blowout victory in Game 1, the Celtics come out and lay an egg losing 118-94 to the Cavs and the series is now tied 1-1 heading into Cleveland. White went from looking like an All Star to going 1-8 from 3. Tatum and JB were less than efficient in this game as well shooting just 7-17 from the field and JB went 0-6 from beyond the arc. Both of them were aggressive getting downhill which is good to see BUT it got a lot of guys out of rhythm.
Defensively, we were horrendous in transition. Not only did we give up 14 transition points, we also didn't hustle back giving the Cavs mismatches which led to more easy buckets. Nobody like the saying "It's a make miss league" but this is a pretty good example of why that saying makes sense. The Celtics, a very good 3pt shooting team, ended the night shooting just 22.9% from 3 and the Cavs, a not so great 3pt shooting team, shot 46%. It certainly wasn't the best game we've seen this year but we are in the same spot we were after Game 2 against Miami. Tied Series against a team with far less talent. Let's go out and take both in Cleveland.

The Celtics cruised to a 120-95 win over the Cavs taking a 1-0 series lead. JB and Derrick White were both incredible in this one. JB started the game off hot with 15 first quarter pts on his way to a team high 32! White continued his hot stretch scoring another 25. In a game with no Porzingis, we also saw some incredible minutes from Kornet which should make Celtics fans feel really good.
While JB and White were great, this was far from the best performance we've seen from Tatum which should also make you feel good about the depth of this team. Despite a poor performance from Tatum and no Porzingis at all, the Celtics cruised to this win. Mitchell is a stud and is always going to get his but the Celtics did a great job of shutting everybody else down. It doesn't seem like the Cavs have the firepower on either side of the ball to take care of business against this C's team!

The Celtics beat the Heat 118-84 and win the series 4 games to 1!!! This game was tied 11-11 and the Celtics went on a 21-5 run and never looked back. We got contributions everywhere in this game. With no Porzingis, Horford was slated into the starting lineup and Kornet got a lot of bench minutes at the 5 and they were both great. Kornet did as good a job on Bam as anyone in this series.
White had another Player of the Game night 25pts including 15 in the first quarter. Both of the Jays absolutely abused Tyler Herro on mismatches over and over again. Hauser bounced back with a 17pt performance on 5-8 from 3. Everybody played well and it resulted in a 34pt victory en route to a 4-1 series win!! Bring on Round 2!!!

The Celtics beat the Heat 102-88 in another masterful defensive performance. This game really had 2 storylines. The first was the play of Derrick White. He was sensational in this game almost single handedly carrying the Celtics offense with a career high 38pts on super efficient shooting splits.
The other storyline however wasn't a good one. Kristaps Porzingis left the game with Right Calf Tightness and supposedly left Kaseya Center in a walking boot. He's expected to get it looked at tomorrow and fingers crossed that it isn't too serious as this could be a major hindrance to the end goal of Banner 18. For now, it's onto Game 5 back in Boston with hopes of wrapping up this series and giving Porzingis some time to rest up before the next series!

The Celtics destroyed the Heat 104-84 and take back home court advantage. This was one of those hard nose gritty defensive wins that Celtics fans have been clamoring for. After giving up a Heat franchise record 23 made 3pt shots in Game 2, the Celtics held the Heat to just 28 3pt attempts in this one. They made it an emphasis to run the Heat off the 3pt line and it totally threw their offense out of sync.
As far as the Celtics offense goes, it was much more balanced than it was in Game 2. JB and Tatum still had solid games but we also saw much more contributions off the bench but the play of Porzingis and White was really the headline of this one which is great to see. This was a really solid win and a great way to jump out to a 2-1 series lead!

The Celtics fall to the Heat 111-101 and this was an ugly one. After blowing out the Heat from beyond the arc last game, the script was flipped and it was the Heat who had a historic shooting night. The Heat went 23-43 from beyond the arc while the Celtics only shot 12-32. Shooting 38% from 3 is perfectly fine but there is no world where the Celtics should only be taking 32 3pt shots with the amount of shooters we have.
From an offensive standpoint, JB and Tatum both played well and scored 61 of our 101pts which in theory is good BUT it also means the rest of our team didn't contribute at all. It took until midway through the 4th for White to become the only other Celtics player in double digits. We really needed more from our other guys especially Porzingis. Porzingis is the key to this series and breaking the zone that Miami loves to throw out there and he was 1-9 from the field today. We need more from him. The series is now tied 1-1 heading back to Miami. Time to get that Game 3 W.

The Celtics beat the Heat 114-94 and roll to a 1-0 series lead!!!! Tatum recorded his first career playoff triple double but we got contributions everywhere. Mazzula stuck to his normal rotations with Horford, Pritchard and Hauser off the bench and got solid contributions from everybody 1-8 in this one. While Tatum may have been the best player on the court in this game, Porzingis may have had the biggest impact.
The Heat tried to throw their zones at the Celtics but Porzingis is a zone destroyer and it led to a million wide open 3s. The Celtics won this game with 22 3pt shots shooting 45% from deep including 8 of them coming off the bench! It wasn't a perfect game with them letting their foot off the gas in the 4th quarter but it was a pretty impressive win and start to this series!

The Heat without Jimmy Butler trounced the Bulls to become the 8 seed securing a first round matchup with the Celtics! Why will this year be different than last year? The easy answer in the personnel on both teams is drastically different. For the Celtics, the addition of Holiday and Porzingis means that the Celtics can now play 5 out making the Heat Zone almost impossible to play.
For the Heat, while their core is still there, they did part ways with Max Strus and Gabe Vincent who killed the Celtics last season. One thing that is ailing the Heat and not the Celtics, for once, is injuries. Jimmy Butler will presumably miss the entire series due to injury and Rozier has now missed the last 6 games due to an injury as well. This Heat team is still capable and is very well coached but it is hard to deny the talent discrepancy especially after the injuries!

This game was bittersweet to say the least. While it won't be the final game we hear from Mike Gorman, it was his final regular season game and the Celtics sure made it memorable. They honored him throughout the entire game with pictures of him on every seat, dedicating the home broadcast booth to him and shining him with countless endorsements and Thank You's from Celtics greats.
The Celtics pulled away with a 132-122 win over the Wizards and this was another game that was led by Payton Pritchard who had a near triple double with a career high 38pts along with 12ast and 9reb. Svi was also incredible with 26pts on 10-13 from the field! Queta also shined in this one with 19pts and 6blks! None of our top 6 played in this one but you never got the sense that they needed it which is incredible to say. Let's bring on the Playoffs!

The Celtics beat the Hornets 131-98 and improve to 63-18 on the season. With this win, they will now end the season with under 20 losses which is an amazing milestone but they will also end the season without losing 3 straight games!We played this one without our whole top 6 and we still managed to destroy the Hornets with Pritchard leading the way but also getting major contributions from our G League guys! This game still means nothing in the grand scheme of things but it was certainly a better game to watch than the last 2 we were dragged through lol. The Celtics lose to the Knicks 118-109 in another ugly loss. Give credit to the Celtics bench for outscoring the Knicks 38-18 in the 4th and making this seem like a close game but the Knicks led this one by as many as 31pts. It was another ugly performance from this team but they got out of it injury free which seems to be their only focus right now.
The Celtics proved all season that they are capable of being the best team in the NBA and despite looking horrible lately, they truly have nothing to play for right now. The Nuggets went 9-10 in their last 19 games last season and won the Finals and they aren't the only champion to coast at the finish line once they have everything wrapped up.

The Celtics beat the Trail Blazers 124-107 and improve to 62-16 on the season which is the 6th best record in franchise history! JB scored his 10,000th career point in the process and was super efficient adding 26pts on 10-17 from the field. Pritchard continued to play at a very high level adding 20pts and 8ast and led this all bench unit to a 4th quarter victory!
The Celtics were absolutely destroyed on the glass in this one giving up 22 offensive rebounds but that is about the only negative you can take from this game. After watching the Celtics bench unit give up an 18pt lead last game before eventually winning it with the Tillman floater, they came out ready to play in this one and actually out scored Portland's starters 31-22 in the 4th quarter which was great to see. We've got 4 games left on the regular season. Can they match the '08 Celtics with a 66-16 record?
