Yes we're back with another interview episode, and this time we're talking to Gerardo from Beyond Words Games about his induction title... The Strange Forgeries Of Mr. S.C.Rheber!
We discuss the game, the inspiration, the origins of induction games, and quite pertinently, the role that reviewers and influencers play in the launch of a board game.
Apologies for the sound quality in places, we've tried to clean it up as best we can but the connection wasn't fantastic.
Enjoy!

Late pledges for The Strange Forgeries Of Mr. S.C.Rheber are available on Gamefound by clicking here.
The BGG Forum Post
You may well be familiar with Gerardo's name / Beyond Words Games thanks to a recent forum post on Board Game Geek, which we tried not to discuss too much in the episode for a couple of reasons. Firstly we were keen to keep the episode focused on The Strange Forgeries Of Mr. S.C.Rheber, and secondly it was, at the time, still a developing situation where some parties had not been given a full chance to reply.
As such some parts have been cut down to avoid confusion, and as a result it does sound like Jay talks a lot when the subject arises. Jay is aware he talks too much in general, but this time it wasn't his fault!
The situation has since been resolved, and we have discussed with Gerardo the possibility of a second episode to set things straight and talk about things from start to finish. But if you'd like to know more about what we discuss you can check out the forum post here:

The Dragon has been slain, and underneath its lifeless corpse lies a mountain of riches the likes of which you have never seen.
You shoot a glance to the other members of your party, each person covetously scanning the pile of goodies with envious eyes... then you dive in to claim what is yours!
Split the Hoard is a game that plays out in those moments immediately after victory, where everyone in the party wants to fill up their swag bag with the items best suited to them; be it potions, equipment, straight up gold, or something else completely.
We talked to game creator Marc Kenobi about Split the Hoard, where the idea came from, how he got into board gaming and what might be next!

We thought it was about time we addressed the elephant in the room, and made sense of why we are called the Bucket List Board Gamers!
The first in what we hope to be a long-running series, this episode Luke, Craig and Jay discuss their picks for Entry Level or 'Beginner' games that they think are best placed to entice people into the hobby of board gaming.
Whether it be alluring visuals, tasty tactility or an effortless teach, Luke, Craig and Jay explain their two picks, then vote to decide which three games take the first slots on the prestigious... Bucket List Board Gamers Bucket List of Board Games!
We're still working on the name...
Apologies to our Patreons, this was recorded before you very generously joined so there is no shout-out in this episode, but we love you all the same!

Plus we're joined by the Snake Oil Salesman Doc Cheetham AKA Jerry from Risible himself to talk about his game!

This episode we speak with Marco Pecota from Raybox Games about The Cats of Mont Saint Michel, a miniatures solo/co-operative campaign game using the Unknown Paths system.
Marco tells us about the new game, his past in the board game industry, how things have changed when it comes to publishing games and a whole lot more in between.
Fans of 'Escape from Stalingrad Z', which came second only to Frosthaven in OnTableTop's Best Board Game award in 2023, may want to listen in, and find out how they can go from battling Zombies in the midst of World War 2, to taking on hoards of vermin just prior to the French Revolution!
So, hit the 'Paws' button on whatever you're doing, perhaps grab a Cat-puccino (or a Meowtini if it's after 5pm) and enjoy!

In Space... nobody can hear you scream!
But they CAN hear us talk to Mike from Guntower Games about his current project; Pandora Celeste... and so can you!
Pandora Celeste is a love letter to all those Sci-fi Movies and TV Shows many of us grew up with. From Aliens, to Terminator and everything in between, Pandora Celeste sees players work together to override the ships Emergency Protocols before racing to carry out their own agendas, escape the 'Big Nasties' that crawl out from the vents and hopefully grab one of the remaining escape pods.
If you like the sound of Pandora Celeste, you can check it out at UKGE on Stand 2-381, or follow one of the links below!

The website has examples of the artwork, a description of the game, a look at **THAT** box and contact details should you want to speak to Mike about it and arrange a game on TTS.

Well we've got three (potentially) infuriating hot takes for you in the first of a two-parter!

On me head, son, It's a game of two halves, Park the bus, He was half a yard off, The referee's a... well, you get the idea with that!
This episode we're talking about Sunday League Football, a game by Sunday League Games that is due to launch on Gamefound in just over a week (8th April!)
We are joined by Vicente, one of the developers of this 'beautiful game', and we find out how it plays, the challenges that have gone into creating it and the plans for the future!
Please Note - Just like the previous episode, we thought this episode had been lost to time thanks to a switch-over on recording platforms, but we found it tucked away on an external device! It was the first interview we had done and I think it's fairly obvious we were slightly nervous, but thanks to Vicente for being an absolute professional and carrying us to victory! You may notice the end is quite abrupt, which is also down to us being unable to recover ALL the audio, but thankfully we only lost a couple of minutes.
Now, the important bit!
You can find Sunday League Football on Gamefound here: https://gamefound.com/en/projects/sunday-league-games/sunday-league-football
Follow the project now, and as mentioned in the episode, when you back you'll receive the 'Legends Pack', which is usually 9 euros, completely free!

Grab your best board gaming buddy and get ready for some intense 1 on 1 action... that's right, this episode we're talking about the best 2 Player Board Games!
Luke, Drew, Craig and Matt all pick their favourite 2 Player-Only board game, before rounding out a top 5 with one of their honourable mentions.
Please Note - We thought this episode had been lost to time thanks to a switch-over on recording platforms, but we found it tucked away on an external device! As such it was recorded in our 'early days' when we hadn't quite got all our audio kinks ironed out, and we hadn't become the smooth, expert podcasters you hear today.... what are you laughing at?

Quite the episode title, huh?
Yes, with AireCon Prime under a month away, we're talking about our favourite board gaming convention again! And this time we have the perfect people to shed some light on what this year's AC Prime will have in store; namely Mr. AireCon himself Mark Cooke, and perennial AireCon attendee and board gaming royalty Rodney Smith of Watch It Played.
We find out what's staying the same, what's changing, exactly where Kay will be on the 15th to the 17th of March, and some might say most importantly, whether we'll still be able to get some delicious poutine and hand made pizzas.
It wouldn't be Bucket List episode without there being some technical difficulties though, and this time we have a real cracker as one member of the team gets unceremoniously dumped into the ether just 5 minutes in. Who? You'll have to listen to find out!
If you're interested in attending Airecon Prime 2024, you can find all the details over on the Airecon website, including how to purchase tickets!

With March (not February!) fast approaching we thought it was about time we got ourselves (and hopefully you, our beloved listeners) hyped about Airecon 2024!
That's right, Harrogate once again plays host to the 4 day boardgame extravaganza known here at BLBG as 'Airecon Prime'! Airecon provides the opportunity to check out what your favourite publishers have in store, the chance to buy more games to pad out that ever increasing Kallax setup, and oodles of space for open gaming!
You can check out the Bring and Buy, borrow top titles from the lending library, or grab some excellent and reasonably priced food from the street food court (Jay recommends the Pizza!)
Laurie from Stop, Drop & Roll Games joins us in this episode to reminisce about Airecon 2023 and discuss Airecon 2024!
You can find out more about Airecon and pick up tickets here: https://www.airecon.co.uk/
And you can check out Stop, Drop & Roll Games at their website https://www.sdrgames.studio/ as well as find them on stand L13 at Airecon 2024 itself!

Back in October three of the Bucket List Board Gamers headed to the brand-spanking new AC West convention in Telford!
How did they find it? What did they play? Is there anything they would change? And most importantly, who won the Table Flipping Championship by sending their meeple the furthest, while also gaining the most table rotations and rolling highest on 2 D20's?
If that's not hooking you in, we honestly don't know what will!
You can find out more about all the Airecon events here: https://www.airecon.co.uk/
And if you're in the market for some beautiful Board gaming merch, or Coffee designed specifically for Board gamers, check out Meeple Design and Meeple Coffee! Plus if you purchase using these links you'll be helping out the podcast too!
