A serial killer who confessed to 11 murders. A body that lay nameless in a swamp for 30 years. And a chilling new discovery.
A New York cold-case detective contacts the Catching Evil team about three more young women he believes Christopher Wilder could have murdered — bodies dumped in fields, left as Jane Does, far from his Florida hunting ground. And we reveal another bombshell: a death-row prisoner who claims Wilder confessed to killing eleven women before his rampage across America.
At the heart of it all is Shari Lynn Ball — 20 years old, lured to New York with the promise of a modelling career, and unidentified for over three decades. We trace the trail that points to her killer, including a discovery hidden in plain sight: a blitz of newspaper classified ads that fall silent every single time Wilder kills.
And we meet two women who survived him — who laughed off his modelling pitch at a yard sale, never knowing how close they'd come, until his face appeared on the FBI's Most Wanted list.
This is the episode where the net starts to widen.
We need your help with this investigation. Email us if you knew Shari Lynne or had an encounter with Christopher Wilder yourself. Or you have information about him or any of his crimes: [email protected]

Before she died, she scribbled a note. Her killer stripped away everything that could identify her — but missed that scrap of paper in her pocket.
She was beautiful, well-dressed, seen at a glamorous Manhattan red carpet party hours before she died — then discarded on a remote stretch of highway, with a tan she couldn't have gotten in a New York winter. Forty-three years later, no mother, no sister, no daughter has ever come forward to claim her.
In this episode, we reveal the breakthroughs that have this cold case closer to cracking than ever — and the new bombshell: six more women, one secret life, and the road that connects them all.

Serial killer Christopher Wilder was ten minutes from the Canadian border. If the passenger door of his stolen car had been unlocked, he would have made it.
This is the inside story of Friday the 13th, 1984 — the day the biggest manhunt in American history ended on the forecourt of a small-town gas station, and the two off-duty troopers who did what the FBI couldn't.
We walk the road he drove. We stand on the spot where he died. We talk to the photographer who captured it all.
The day Christopher Wilder died, the families of the women he took thought they would finally get their answers.
They didn't.
The chase ended that afternoon. The story didn't. And what we have uncovered since is about to change everything.

Devoted single Mom Beth Dodge is the final victim of serial killer Christopher Wilder's murder rampage across America — a six-week killing spree that has already claimed the lives of eight women. It is April 12, 1984 — a day that will live forever in serial killer infamy. Beth, weeks away from starting a new job and a new life for herself and her four-year-old daughter Stephanie, is executed in cold blood. Simply for her car.
It isn't even lunchtime, and Wilder has already raped and tortured the two teenage girls he has held captive for days. He has stabbed one of them — 16-year-old Dawnette Wilt — and left her to bleed out alone in the woods. He will shoot Beth in front of the other — 16-year-old Tina Risico — the terrified girl he has broken into becoming his assistant.
Stephanie was four years old when she was told her mum was in heaven. Today she is a mother of four, living a short drive from the place Beth was killed. Her children will never meet their grandma.
This is Beth's story — the mother, the dreamer, the daughter she left behind. She deserves to be remembered as exactly that. 🕊️

He was killing every few days — then he took Tina, and suddenly stopped. Christopher Wilder had already abducted nine women and murdered most of them in a six-week rampage across America. He was the FBI's most wanted man. Every woman he took, he raped, tortured and then quickly killed them. But when he abducted 16-year-old Tina Risico from an LA shopping mall, something changed. The killing stopped. For nine days, he kept her alive — and for 40 years, no one has fully explained why. Until now.
This is the story of the girl who was allowed to walk away when none of the others were — and the question at its heart is one every woman will ask: what did Tina do differently to survive? She tells us in her own words.

'I Was Groomed by a Serial Killer': A Survivor's Chilling Story. LeAnne was just 16 when serial killer Christopher Wilder lured her off a crowded Florida beach, blindfolded her, and drove her to a place no teenage girl should ever find herself. She thought she was going to be a model. Instead, she came face-to-face with a monster. In this raw and emotional episode, true-crime experts Gemma Bath, host of True Crime Conversations, and Olivia LaVoice, host of The Bakersfield Three, react with shock and anger to LeAnne's terrifying brush with death.
They explore the psychology behind Wilder's predatory behaviour, the systemic failures that allowed him to destroy so many lives, and why women are conditioned from a young age to comply with predators rather than fight back. LeAnne's encounter with evil is a stark and unsettling reminder of the dangers women still face — and why we need to talk about it.
This episode also shines a light on the devastating ripple effect of Wilder's crimes on the families left behind, the importance of giving survivors and victims' loved ones a voice, and why true-crime podcasts are playing a vital role in keeping cold cases alive and delivering justice long after the system has failed.
Gemma Bath is the host of True Crime Conversations on Mamamia, one of Australia's most successful and respected true-crime podcasts which explores the world's most notorious crimes by speaking to the people who know the most about them.

Link: For 43 years, nobody has known her name. In December 1983, a young mother was shot four times and her body dumped on a remote New York highway. She had no identification. Nobody reported her missing.
She was buried as Ellery Jane Doe — named after the town where she was found — and has remained unidentified ever since. The FBI couldn't name her. Interpol couldn't. Homicide detectives couldn't. But Catching Evil listeners have blown this case wide open — placing serial killer Christopher Wilder in New York just 48 hours before her body was found, and cracking a coded note found in her coat pocket that had defeated experts for decades.
Now, cold case detectives are asking our worldwide true crime audience to make the final connection. Listen to the episode, then go to our podcast blog and look at Ellery Jane Doe's photographs. Share the link with everyone you know, particularly if they are overseas.

She was seventeen years old, competing in her very first beauty pageant, and she was there alone. Her dad called her his girl. Her car's number plate read TOMISH — To Michelle — with the tag line 'Daddy's Girl.' She had told her mum she was going to be President by the time she was thirty-five. She will forever be seventeen.
Michelle Korfman left that Las Vegas shopping mall on a Sunday afternoon in March 1984 with a man who told her she had a big future in modelling. But he wasn't a fashion photographer, he was a serial killer who had been preying on America's most beautiful women for two decades.
Michelle's family spent a small fortune searching for her — helicopters, search parties, 25,000 posters. They never stopped looking.
She was found forty days later but spent another month in the morgue, listed as Jane Doe #39, before dental records finally gave her back her name.
This is Michelle's story, this is her voice - not the killers. Because she was a piano player, a photographer, a daughter, and a dreamer — and she deserves to be remembered as exactly that.

Serial killer Christopher Wilder was murdering his way across America — and nobody was stopping him. This episode plunges into the terrifying heart of Wilder's 1984 killing rampage, tracking him through Colorado, Utah and Arizona as the FBI scrambled desperately to catch up. At the centre of it all is Sheryl Bonaventura — eighteen years old, blonde, blue-eyed, beautiful, and about to head to Aspen for spring break with her best friend. She never made it out of the shopping mall car park.
And there's a detail that will stop you cold. Grand Junction, Colorado — the town where Wilder snatched Sheryl — was the same hunting ground used by Ted Bundy a decade earlier. Two of America's most notorious serial killers. The same small town. The same interstate highway. The same prey. This is Catching Evil at its most compelling — and most haunting.

She survived serial killer Christopher Wilder at eleven years old — but the real fight came after. For thirty years, Kristine buried it. No answers, no justice, just a narrative handed to her by a system that looked away. Then she started digging — and what she uncovered made her physically sick. Bodies on Wilder's property. A girl murdered just three days after her own abduction. And one devastating question that has never left her: did he kill her because he couldn't kill me?
In this raw, emotional episode, the Catching Evil team flies to America to meet Kristine face to face. At fifty, she is finally stripping away decades of shame and reclaiming who she really is — and watching her do it is extraordinary. Her husband sits to one side, tears streaming, as she describes waking up mid-life and realising she'd been living someone else's story. The girl who outsmarted a serial killer at eleven is learning, at last, to see herself as a warrior.
And she's not done. Kristine believes Wilder had far more victims than the world knows — women with no names, no justice, no voice. She intends to change that. For them. For her granddaughter. And for every woman still carrying a story she's been told to forget. This one will stay with you

In January 1965, two fifteen-year-old girls were lured to a remote stretch of Wanda Beach in Sydney, taken into the sand dunes, and murdered. For sixty years, it has remained Australia's biggest unsolved double murder. Catching Evil is about to change that with bombshell new evidence.
Since we first named serial killer Christopher Wilder as our prime suspect, listeners across the world have come forward with explosive new evidence. In this episode, we present it all — including a woman who looks almost identical to one of the victims, pestered repeatedly by Wilder to go to Wanda Beach just two weeks before the murders. She said no and lived.
Then there is Wilder's little black book — crammed with over fifty pages of girls' names and phone numbers — handed to police after he vanished from his job right after the murders made headlines across Australia. It was handed to police, and has never been seen since.
By the end of this episode you will have heard thirteen chilling coincidences that place Christopher Wilder at Wanda Beach that day — evidence so compelling that the senior detective who re-investigated the case named Wilder his number one 'red hot' suspect. The police have the power to close this case. We are giving them every reason to consider doing exactly that.

What would you do if a serial killer put a gun to your little sister’s head?
Eleven-year-old Kristine didn't have time to think. In that terrifying moment, on a sunny afternoon that should have been safe, she made a choice.
She figured out Christopher Wilder—the man who would become one of America’s most notorious killers—and she used that knowledge to keep her ten-year-old sister alive through hours of unimaginable horror. This is her truly remarkable story, told in her own voice.
For decades, Kristine carried the weight of that day alone. The system failed her. People looked away. But she never let that day define her. Instead, she turned her pain into a lifeline for other women, founding a non-profit to ensure no one has to survive in silence. Her courage isn’t just about surviving a monster; it’s about refusing to let that monster win, even forty years later.
This episode is more than a crime story. It’s a testament to a sister’s love, a child’s astonishing bravery, and a woman’s unbreakable spirit. If you’ve ever needed to believe that light can grow from the darkest places, listen. Kristine’s voice will stay with you long after the episode ends.
Yesterday Today Tomorrow Women is dedicated to advancing women’s mental health and social wellbeing. Contributions directly support community-based initiatives that raise awareness, provide resources, and foster safe, supportive spaces for women to grow and heal.

Suzanne Logan was 21, nine months married, and full of dreams. On a Sunday morning in 1984 she kissed her husband goodbye, drove to a shopping mall in Oklahoma City, and was never seen alive again.
Christopher Wilder found her. What happened next is unbearable for her brothers, who have found it impossible to speak about. Until now.
John and David — between them over 50 years in the US Navy — are big, strong men. But in this episode they break down completely. And what makes it even more extraordinary is that this is the first time in forty years they have truly spoken to each other about what happened to their little sister.
This is the story the police didn't want to investigate. It's one you won't be able to stop thinking about. We hope it honours Suzie, the pretty young bride who met a serial killer and never made it home.

What if you could see inside a serial killer's mind before he struck? Three men who've spent decades studying ruthless predators like Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer pull back the curtain on Christopher Wilder—and what they reveal could save a life. Dr Eric Hickey, FBI consultant profiler and forensic psychologist, delivers the starkest warning you'll ever hear: "He pulls out a gun and points it at you. You don't get in the car. Never get in the car. You're better off being shot in the parking lot than being tortured and murdered in the car or in some other place. If you get in the car, you're dead."
This isn't theory. This is survival. Because Wilder didn't look dangerous—he looked successful. Wealthy businessman. Race car driver. The kind of charming man who seemed legitimate, exciting, trustworthy. That's exactly what made him lethal.
He selected his victims like a hunter stalking prey. Pretty young women. Models. Beauty queens with dreams he promised to make real. Former Miami Police Chief Dr Nelson Andreu explains how Wilder posed as a photographer, flashed his racing credentials, and projected sophistication that masked pure evil. "The first time he kills may not be perfectly choreographed. But inspired by the intense satisfaction the killing produces, he starts to plan in earnest. Those first murders left him with a thrill that he could never, ever let go. Each victim fueled his need for the next."
International best-selling crime writer Michael Robotham met Wilder face-to-face as a young journalist and never forgot his chilling confidence in court—the quiet certainty of a man who believed he was invincible. This episode doesn't just explain how monsters are made. It arms you with knowledge that could save you or someone you love.

She was four years old when Christopher Wilder stole her mother. For forty years, Mindy Walden told no one her story. Now, she's ready to speak.
Terry Walden was 23 — a nursing student, a young mom who loved baking and birthday parties. In March 1984, a stranger approached her on her university campus in Beaumont, Texas, and told her she could be a model. Terry called him a dirty pervert. The next morning, he was waiting beside her car. Terry never came home.
Her four-year-old daughter knew. Dropped at daycare that morning, Mindy screamed and sobbed as she watched her mother walk away. That night, as her father drove frantically through every parking lot in town, Mindy told him: I think she's dead. Two days later, she watched them pull her mother's body from a canal — on a road that bore their family name.
For forty years, Mindy has been haunted by a dream in which her mother appears but cannot speak — because Mindy can no longer remember her voice. But she has recently discovered a cassette tape, unheard for 35 years, on which Terry is talking. The moment it plays changes everything.
And then comes a revelation no one saw coming — when Mindy's partner steps forward with his own shattering confession, exposing an extraordinary bond forged from opposite sides of the same violence.
This is the episode that will stay with you long after it ends.

She stared into the eyes of a serial killer, fought a life-or-death battle in a motel room, and won — then triggered the biggest manhunt in American history. Linda Grober was just 19 years old when Christopher Wilder abducted her from a shopping mall in broad daylight. He had already murdered four women across America in three weeks. Police had his name. Nobody had warned the public. Linda had never heard of him.
What happened next in a roadside motel room is almost impossible to comprehend. He superglued her eyes shut. He electrocuted her through wires attached to her fingers and toes. He tortured and assaulted her for hours while ordering her to act like his girlfriend. And if she didn't perform to his liking, he shocked her again — then laughed. But Linda Grober did something Wilder never expected. She kept thinking. "Keep it together, sister," she told herself. "Keep your cool. Do what he says. And think."
She played dead. He loosened his grip. She jabbed her fingers into his eyes and ran — five steps to a bathroom door with a lock no thicker than a fingernail. A serial killer was right behind her. She made it. She flicked the lock. His body slammed into the door a heartbeat later. That lock saved her life.
Linda Grober's escape didn't just save one woman. It brought in the FBI and triggered the biggest manhunt in American history. Her detailed account of Wilder — his methods, his obsessions, his rituals — gave investigators everything they needed to hunt him down. Other women are alive today because a 20-year-old university student in a motel bathroom refused to die. This is not a story about a serial killer. This is a story about the extraordinary young woman who beat one.

She was fifteen. Tiny — barely 160 centimetres tall. Wearing a pink bikini on an ordinary Thursday morning, walking alone near her home.
Christopher Wilder was six foot, well into a killing rampage across America, and should have been in police custody that morning. He wasn't. A private detective had handed police in Miami enough evidence. They called it "no evidence of foul play."
Two days later, Colleen Orsborn was gone.
For 27 years she lay in a morgue labelled Jane Doe — a number, a file, a girl nobody could name. Her mother never stopped searching. Never stopped hoping. She died before DNA finally confirmed what the family always knew.
She never got to bury her daughter.
Colleen's big sister Margaret has carried the guilt for 40 years. She was the big sister. She was supposed to protect her. That's what big sisters do.
"I'm sorry," she whispered at the memorial, 27 years too late. "I think we all felt we failed her."
She didn't fail Colleen. The system did.

Stunning beauty queen, High School cheerleading coach and special needs teacher Beth Kenyon turned down a marriage proposal from Christopher Wilder after only a handful of casual dates. A few months later, the 23-year-old beauty queen winner vanished after being seen with him at a gas station on the way to a photo shoot he organised for her. Rosario Gonzalez was 21 and in love. Newly engaged. Teaching Sunday school while building a modelling career. February 26, 1984, should have been just another day working the Miami Grand Prix to earn some extra money for her wedding. Handing out samples, sunshine, the roar of engines, thousands of people everywhere.
She should have been safe.
Instead, Rosario vanished in plain sight. The last photo ever taken shows her moments before she was seen walking away with a man matching serial killer Christopher Wilder's description.
No screams. No witnesses. Just gone. Why did she go with him?
In this episode, you'll hear from Bill — her college sweetheart, her fiancé, the man who was supposed to marry her. Decades later, his voice breaks describing "the most beautiful woman" he ever met. The sweetest soul he ever knew.
There's no body. No grave. No closure. Just her wedding band — and the life they were supposed to build together, frozen forever in 1984.
Rosario was engaged. She was loved. She had a future. Christopher Wilder made sure she never lived to see it.
For every woman who's ever been approached by a stranger with a "great opportunity." For every woman who's wondered if she was overreacting. For everyone still waiting for answers that may never come.
This is Rosario's story. And it matters.
