In conversation with Hindustani classical virtuoso, my Guru, friend , soul sister Smt Kiranmayi Desai.“RAAMA GAANA KOKILA “ title is conferred on her by the “ Kambaaluru Vyasa PeethaPratishtanam” of Kolar for the best singing and outstanding composition of music for the “Raamayana” in poetic form written by the pontiff of Sri SriMadhavateerthaSamsthana Sri VidyasagaraMadhavaTeertharu. She has composed and published many albums on devotional music. She started her music at a very young age of 5. Her mother is her first guru who gave her the initial training in carnatic classical music. She was a student of Smt. Indira Kailasam, Smt. Vinutha Prakash and Smt. M.S.Vidya in Carnatic music .She started her music training in Hindustani Classical Music from Pt . Surendra Sa Nakod and has been learning under the guidance of Vidushi. Smt Sarala Madhusudhan Desai presently.
