“In 25 years of doing this work, I’ve never seen a policy this cruel.”
Sandy Santana, Executive Director of Children’s Rights, spoke with the ACLU’s Lee Gelernt, who has played a central role in fighting back against the Trump Administration’s policy of separating immigrant children from their families. Lee filed the national class action lawsuit that reversed this inhumane and illegal policy, and he credits Children’s Rights support of the lawsuit as having been vital to its success. Paola, who immigrated to the country at the age of 3 with her family, responded to Trump's new policy separating immigrant children from their parents with her "I Am a Child" photo series, which draws inspiration from the iconic 1968 photo "I Am a Man."
