4:12 Procrastination and perfectionism are best friends
6:30 You Tie Your Worth to Outcomes, Not Effort
12:29 Avoidance behaviours
14:45 Face the emotion, face the problem
This is one of the most personal topics I’ve ever spoken about because I have BEEN IN THE TRENCHES of procrastinating so bad and hating myself for it.
Procrastination isn’t just about laziness or distractions—it’s about fear.
The fear that we won’t do it right, that we’ll fall short, or that we’ll fail in front of everyone.
I’ve been the person who delays sending that text, starting that project, or speaking up in a meeting because I wasn’t “ready” or I was too scared of the outcome. I’ve told myself, just research a little more, prepare a little better, or wait for the right time. But deep down, I knew the truth: I wasn’t avoiding the task—I was avoiding the emotions that came with it.
The fear of rejection, inadequacy, or imperfection has held me back from so much. And honestly? It’s exhausting. But I’m learning to face it. I’m learning that I can’t tie my worth to an outcome or wait for things to be “perfect” before I start.
In this video, I talk about the real reasons behind procrastination—the ones we don’t always want to admit. It’s about the discomfort, the self-doubt, and the pressure we put on ourselves to be extraordinary. And I share how I’m slowly learning to celebrate the small wins, face the uncomfortable emotions, and take action—even when it’s scary.
If this resonates with you, let’s figure it out together. Give yourself grace. Start small. Because you deserve to try, even if the outcome isn’t perfect.
