Hey pipe'n people. Thanks for checking out The Podtastic Piper Radio Program where I hope to discuss anything bagpipe related. My name is Chris and after many years of dreaming about learning to play the mastic Great Highland Bagpipes I finally took the leap and committed myself to study the art. I currently within my 2nd year of playing and I hope to use my perspective as a newbie to aid and encourage any person who is likewise just starting out, or is still just considering getting started. Additionally, I hope to engage more experienced pipers who could offer their experiences and insights for the betterment of all.
The world of bagpiping is vast and deep. It seems to me that one could spend a lifetime perfecting the musicianship of playing the bagpipes and exploring the culture associated with the bagpipe which spans the globe.
I am currently employed as a full-time firefighter/paramedic and part-time police officer. I have the honor of providing the both soloum or celebratory sounds of the Great Highland Bagpipes for all types of events.
One of the greatest benefits I have discovered thus far in my short time playing has been the community of wonderful people who share the passion for playing the bagpipes.

Get Onto My Cloud has Tim at his chatty witty best, where he talks about his career in theatre and music, his colleagues and friends (plus the odd foe) and sometimes roams off stage to discuss other important matters in his life such as cricket, astronomy, Sunderland FC and boxer dogs. You can also expect to listen to recordings of some of his favourite lyrics (not always the obvious ones) and he reveals how and why some shows worked brilliantly and some didn’t.
Described as “Relaxed, casual, essential listening for musical theatre fans and historians.”
Sir Tim Rice wrote the lyrics for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Chess and The Lion King, to name but five. The composers he has worked with include Andrew Lloyd Webber, Elton John, Alan Menken, ABBA’s Bjorn and Benny and Freddie Mercury. -

Sometimes poignant and often hilarious, Robin Meloy Goldsby, host of The Piano Girl Podcast, reveals the comedies, tragedies, and mundane miracles witnessed from the business side of the Steinway.
A pianist in lounges and lobbies around the world, Goldsby tells her stories by connecting people she has met with places she has played. Along the way she discovers the human side, for better or worse, of her audiences—mobsters and moguls, the down-and-out and downright scary, and ordinary people dealing with life in extraordinary ways. Her stories deliver insights into the art and craft of piano playing—and inspiring lessons in life—as she pursues her dreams on her own terms.
Robin Meloy Goldsby is the author of Piano Girl; Waltz of the Asparagus People; Rhythm; and Manhattan Road Trip. She has appeared on National Public Radio’s All Things Consideredand NPR's Piano Jazz with Marian McPartland. Robin is a Grammy-nominated lyricist. She is a Steinway Artist and cultural ambassador with artistic ties to both Europe and the USA; her newest solo piano album, Home and Away, launched at Buckingham Palace in November, 2017, at a gala hosted by HRH, the Prince of Wales, in honor of In Kind Direct, an organization that encourages corporate giving for social good.
Robin currently performs plays about 150 live piano gigs a year at Excelsior Hotel Ernst in Cologne, Germany, and tours internationally with her popular concert/reading program.
"Goldsby has a wicked sense of humor and a keen eye for the absurd. Bighearted, funny, truly eye-opening memoir." Publishers Weekly Starred Review -
