LK99 is a room temperature superconductor, or so the authors of the paper that was released abruptly on July 23 claim. The internet picked up on this news way before mass media, and I was fortunate enough to find myself in the middle of this, talking to scientists from all fields, befriending the "Russian anime catgirl" who replicated that paper first in her kitchen with 350 followers on her account, chatting with the space cowboy from Varda space and egging him on, and had the great luck to open a groupchat with all these amazing folks to collaborate on replication and understanding of this incredibly exciting new material.
I will continue to do this, here, on floaty rocks podcast, every week and as breaking news happen!
