  • The skincare industry has seen surge in popularity during the pandemic with the general public investing in multiple products to service their increasingly complicated routines. But amongst this craze, have you ever wondered why Indian beauty/skincare regimes haven't gained the same level of popularity that other routines (E.g. Like western brands, K beauty, J beauty) have? Is it lack of products, marketing or a general dismissal of Indian culture’s influence on beauty trends all together?

Join Sharvari and Disha in the second episode of Coats and Mascara as they break down the reasons why Indian beauty, or I-Beauty hasn't made a dent in the mainstream skincare market, understand the potential growth I-beauty brands can have and discuss the possibility of I-Beauty grabbing a seat at the global skincare table.

  • In this podcast, hosts Disha and Sharvari attempt to answer the underlying question: ‘Why Not Us?”

India is the world’s 5th largest global economy with a mecca of cultural diversity that can put it in the forefront of innovation in the fashion and beauty industry. So then, why is it that Western trends are more dominant than Indian ones across the sub-continent? Why are Indians still puppets of trickled down Western trends?

We utilize this overarching theme across the podcast to highlight innovations and form a dialogue to understand consumer sentiments across these innovations and their impact on the future of these industries.

We invite all listeners to subscribe and debate across topics presented to create a conversation and encourage a collective action for a more developed India during and post the pandemic.
