For nearly 2,400 years the Copper Scroll laid in a cave near Khirbet Qumran high above the shores of the Dead Sea. It was unearthed in 1952 and was found to contain a list of treasures and a verbal map to those treasures estimated to be worth BILLIONS and may even contain the Ark of the Covenant. In 1992 and 1993 Americans witnessed two of the biggest scandals in law enforcement history. Starting with the 11-day standoff at Ruby Ridge that resulted in the death of a minor, a dog, and a woman holding a baby, all over a failure to appear in court over a weapons charge. Then the 51-day siege of the Branch Davidians in Waco, Texas that resulted in the deaths of 76 people including 25 children and two pregnant women.
Was this the beginning of the militarization of law enforcement against citizens of political and religious groups the government didn’t like? Did Bill Clinton use the chaos to take out three of his former bodyguards connected to his scandals in Arkansas? And what about all the evidence that the FBI targeted and killed children in a fire that conveniently disappeared from evidence lockers?
