Prophets, Hunters and Brutes. Oh my!!
On this part 2 of our coverage of the backstory of Halo, we dive into the history of the Covenant, the races in it and how it got started. We cover Cortana, Dr Catherine Halsey, the Human-Covenant war and of course, Spartans! This will encapsulate the history and summarize the Lore leading up the Halo: Combat Evolved.
To prepare for this episode I read through the book Halo: Contact Harvest. The story follows Sergeant Avery Johnson and Humanities first initial contact with The Covenant. If you loved Sgt Johnson in the Halo games then I highly suggest grabbing this one to read!

On the first official marquee episode of Cracking The Tome we dive into the backstory of the world of Halo: Combat Evolved. We start at the very beginning here with what The Precursors and Forerunners are, where they came from, how they got to be so important in the story of Halo and what happened to them! We also go over the history of Humanity, The Flood, Halo's, The Librarian, The Ark and how they are all connected! Whether you know nothing about the Halo universe or are a seasoned veteran like me, you will love this incredible story of a world that has no business being as intriguing as it is for being the lore of a First-Person Shooter game.
To prepare for this episode I read through the Forerunner trilogy, which I HIGHLY recommend even after listening to this episode. The titles and the order are as follows.

Halo: Primordium
Halo: Silentium
