Joku & Rosa discuss 'A Complete Unknown' a 2024 American biographical musical drama film directed by James Mangold, who co-wrote the screenplay with Jay Cocks, about American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan. Based on the 2015 book Dylan Goes Electric! by Elijah Wald, the film portrays Dylan through his earliest folk music success until the momentous controversy over his use of electric instruments at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival. We also discuss 'Memoir of a Snail' a 2024 Australian adult stop-motion animated tragicomedy film written, produced and directed by Adam Elliot. It stars the voices of Sarah Snook, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Eric Bana, Magda Szubanski, Dominique Pinon, Tony Armstrong, Paul Capsis, Nick Cave, and Jacki Weaver. Lastly, we review 'The Wages of Fear' a 1953 thriller film directed and co-written by Henri-Georges Clouzot, and starring Yves Montand, Charles Vanel, Peter van Eyck and Véra Clouzot. The film centres on a group of four down-on-their-luck European men who are hired by an American oil company to drive two trucks over mountain dirt roads, loaded with nitroglycerin needed to extinguish an oil well fire.

The film stars Nicole Kidman as a high-powered CEO who puts her career and family on the line when she begins an affair with a much younger intern. Sophie Wilde and Antonio Banderas also star. They also discuss @omalleyrock 's 'Rap World' a 2024 American mockumentary film written and directed by Conner O'Malley and Danny Scharar. Finally, we touch on 'Triumph of the Will' a 1935 German Nazi propaganda film directed, produced, edited and co-written by Leni Riefenstahl. Adolf Hitler commissioned the film and served as an unofficial executive producer; his name appears in the opening titles. It chronicles the 1934 Nazi Party Congress in Nuremberg, which was attended by more than 700,000 Nazi supporters.

The film unofficially parodies characters from the Batman comics, and the main character is a transgender woman based on the Joker, played by Drew. The film also features Scott Aukerman, Tim Heidecker, Maria Bamford, David Liebe Hart, Robert Wuhl, and Bob Odenkirk in supporting roles. We also review 'Nosferatu' a 2024 American gothic horror film written and directed by Robert Eggers. It is a remake of F. W. Murnau's 1922 film Nosferatu, itself inspired by Bram Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula. The film stars Bill Skarsgård as the vampire Nosferatu and Nicholas Hoult and Lily-Rose Depp as the married Hutter couple, with Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, Simon McBurney, and Willem Dafoe in supporting roles. We also review and discuss 'Crash' a 1996 Canadian erotic thriller film written, produced and directed by David Cronenberg, based on J. G. Ballard's 1973 novel of the same name. We also review and discuss 'Workingman's Death' a 2005 Austrian-German documentary film written and directed by Michael Glawogger. It premiered at the 2005 Venice Film Festival. The film deals with the extremes to which workers go to earn a living in several countries around the world. The film is composed of six chapters.

It follows an American expatriate, played by Daniel Craig, who becomes infatuated with a younger man, exploring themes of desire and loneliness. We also review and analyze 'Balladonna of Sadness' a 1973 Japanese animated surrealist art film produced by the animation studio Mushi Production and distributed by Nippon Herald Films. It follows the story of Jeanne, a peasant woman who makes a faustian deal with the devil after she is assaulted by the local nobility on the night of her wedding day.
