In this episode of the Deer IQ podcast we wrap up our series on public land hunting with Michael Veine, a long time outdoor writer with a lot of experience in the hard to hunt big woods of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. It’s actually the 2nd half of our interview, the first of which hasn’t been released yet. So when I mention the first episode, that actually has not aired but will in the future regarding private land. So if you hunt large areas of public, and have a hard time finding quality spots that produce, this episode is for you. And you can download our free journal to use with the podcast, that’s really going to help. So here are the top things to look for during this episode:• What is Michael's main criteria for finding the best potential spots to take big woods bucks?• When does Michael focus his precise efforts, and where does he focus these for the best odds hunting large expansive tracts of public land?• What strategy does he use to simultaneously leverage private and public land for maximizing his strategic hunts during the season?• How many public land spots does Michael have, and say you need, and why is this a big key according to him?• How have wolves changed how he hunts and when he hunts for more success?Year Theme: To consistently take the top deer where you huntSeries: Hunt Breakdown and AnalysisEpisode # 70Guest: Host Adam Lewis; Guests - Michael VeineIQ ranking - 5 (intermediate)DEER IQ Services: • The NEW Deer IQ TEST & Consultation HERE: https://deeriq.com/full-assessment/ • For interest in our NEW Whitetail Workshop see HERE: https://deeriq.com/deeriq-whitetail-workshop/ • Other Services including our Coached Small Group, land and hunting plans for your private land, or a public land hunting analysis, visit HERE: https://deeriq.com/services/ More from DEER IQ: Website: https://deeriq.com Facebook Private Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/511109237864762 Deer IQ FREE Journal: https://deeriq.com/journal/ Pressured Public Lands Hunting Guide: https://deeriq.com/public-land-hunting-guide/ Newsletter Signup: https://deeriq.com/signup/ Patreon - Contribute Financially to Deer IQ: https://www.patreon.com/DeerIQPatreon Scent Control Regimen: https://deeriq.com/scentcontrol-regimen/

In this episode of the Deer IQ podcast we discuss 3 Michigan hunts from 2024 and just how and why they came together. Included is my recent public land buck, which was actually a mission 2 years in the making. It's a "No BS" session - a High IQ breakdown and analysis, including one incredible ground hunt that really paid off. Here are the top things to look for during this episode.• How did each hunter approach their hunt to have the highest odds possible?• What factors had to come together for the high-risk/high-reward ground hunt Cody pulled off?• How was my (Adam) connection several years in the making, and how did I readjust even with many hunters around to find the right spot.• What were the main factors ALL these hunts had in common that was key? In this episode of the Deer IQ podcast we discuss DIY or Freelance hunting, which is a big deal among public land hunters these days, and our two guests - Greg Godfrey of Tethrd and John Eberhart just released a 3 volume book on the subject that goes perfectly with where we are in our public land series. Now, there are some glitchy audio things I did my best to fix, so bear with us on that, but there are some really good topics covered if you hunt mobile, DIY, or Freelance style hunting or are thinking about that. Here are the top things to look for during this episode.• How do the guys define DIY hunting a bit differently?• Is “going in blind” good to do - which is a popular phrase these days, and what are keys to do this effectively?• What are some big pitfalls of DIY hunting you have to avoid?• What does John say about hunting before the pre -rut, and how to identify and save the best rut locations on public land?• How do Greg and john prep differently for a hunt both in, and out of season?• How do you know when to hunt vs. move on when freelance hunting? And much more!Year Theme: To consistently take the top deer where you huntSeries: Public Land - Beating the OddsEpisode # 68Guest: Host Adam Lewis; Guests - John Eberhart, Greg GodfreyIQ ranking - 5 (intermediate)John & Greg's DIY Book HEREDEER IQ Services: • The NEW Deer IQ TEST & Consultation HERE: https://deeriq.com/full-assessment/ • For interest in our NEW Whitetail Workshop see HERE: https://deeriq.com/deeriq-whitetail-workshop/ • Other Services including our Coached Small Group, land and hunting plans for your private land, or a public land hunting analysis, visit HERE: https://deeriq.com/services/ More from DEER IQ: FOUNDATIONS Episode Mentioned: https://youtu.be/NBWdFHE92lg Website: https://deeriq.com Facebook Private Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/511109237864762 Deer IQ FREE Journal: https://deeriq.com/journal/ Pressured Public Lands Hunting Guide: https://deeriq.com/public-land-hunting-guide/ Newsletter Signup: https://deeriq.com/signup/ Patreon - Contribute Financially to Deer IQ: https://www.patreon.com/DeerIQPatreon Scent Control Regimen: https://deeriq.com/scentcontrol-regimen/

In this episode of the Deer IQ podcast we continue our series called “public land - beating the odds” where we dig back into the strategies, mindsets, and approaches to be successful on public land despite the many challenges that come with it. And again this season is all about how to consistently take the top deer where you hunt and our guest is no stranger to that. This episode is part 2 with Jared Scheffler of Whitetail Adrenaline and we get more specific with some interesting topics we just touched the surface on last time. And we have a free journal, a great way to track and apply what we talk about in the podcast, that is linked below so check that out. Here are the top things to look for during this episode.• What are the 2 main “bear holes” Jared says you have to focus on that will give you the most advantage hunting public land? Remember a bear hole is a big thing to fill vs. rabbit holes that are small minute things.• How does Jared find mini pockets of good bucks that elude other hunters?• How does Jared adjust on the fly to get on big deer consistently?• What is the problem with E-scouting today, that makes it much less valuable than most think?• How does Jared hunt-scout a parcel to determine its hunting value - or see if it’s worth his time to even hunt?Year Theme: To consistently take the top deer where you huntSeries: So there I was - Hunting stories of epic adventureEpisode # 67Guest: Host Adam Lewis, Jared SchefflerIQ ranking - 5 (intermediate) Jared's Website & DVD's: https://whitetailadrenaline.com/ DEER IQ Services: • The NEW Deer IQ TEST & Consultation HERE: https://deeriq.com/full-assessment/ • For interest in our NEW Whitetail Workshop see HERE: https://deeriq.com/deeriq-whitetail-workshop/ • Other Services including our Coached Small Group, land and hunting plans for your private land, or a public land hunting analysis, visit HERE: https://deeriq.com/services/ More from DEER IQ: FOUNDATIONS Episode Mentioned: https://youtu.be/NBWdFHE92lg Website: https://deeriq.com Facebook Private Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/511109237864762 Deer IQ FREE Journal: https://deeriq.com/journal/ Pressured Public Lands Hunting Guide: https://deeriq.com/public-land-hunting-guide/ Newsletter Signup: https://deeriq.com/signup/ Patreon - Contribute Financially to Deer IQ: https://www.patreon.com/DeerIQPatreon Scent Control Regimen: https://deeriq.com/scentcontrol-regimen/

In this episode of the DEER IQ podcast we’re continuing our new series called “public land - beating the odds” where we dig back into the strategies, mindsets, and approaches to be successful on public land despite the many challenges that come with it. This week I’m with my friend Mark talking about a couple big myths or traps that many public land hunters fall into, and how vital it is to avoid them and just how to do that. Here are the top things to look for during this episode.• What is my history with public land hunting, and what do I claim will make the biggest impact for anyone to become a better hunter?• What is the big myth I think hunters believe and what is the root cause of this?• Why does believing this myth actually lead to more hunting pressure and poor hunting many times?• How did Mark and I fall for this last year, and what is the fix for falling into this trap?Year Theme: To consistently take the top deer where you huntSeries: So there I was..Episode #66Guest: Host Adam Lewis, Mark KawieckiIQ ranking - 5 (intermediate)DEER IQ Services: • The NEW Deer IQ TEST & Consultation HERE: https://deeriq.com/full-assessment/ • For interest in our NEW Whitetail Workshop see HERE: https://deeriq.com/deeriq-whitetail-workshop/ • Other Services including our Coached Small Group, land and hunting plans for your private land, or a public land hunting analysis, visit HERE: https://deeriq.com/services/ More from DEER IQ: Website: https://deeriq.com Facebook Private Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/511109237864762 Deer IQ FREE Journal: https://deeriq.com/journal/ Pressured Public Lands Hunting Guide: https://deeriq.com/public-land-hunting-guide/ Newsletter Signup: https://deeriq.com/signup/ Patreon - Contribute Financially to Deer IQ: https://www.patreon.com/DeerIQPatreon Scent Control Regimen: https://deeriq.com/scentcontrol-regimen/

In this episode of the DEER IQ podcast we’re starting a new series called “public land - beating the odds” where we dig back into the strategies, mindsets, and approaches to be successful on public land despite the many challenges that come with it. I’m joined this week for part 1 with Jared Scheffler of Whitetail Adrenaline, who is very well known for his aggressive approach to public land hunting, and his raw documentation of it in his DVD series. It’s a great conversation aimed at beginners, but will really benefit anyone listening who hunts public land, or is thinking about it. And yes we have our free journal you can download below, that will really help you get the most out of this podcast. Here are the top things to look for during this episode.• What did Jared struggle with initially when starting public land hunting, and what would he tell other hunters just starting out?• What does he mean by “playing defense” and “playing offense” when hunting, and how does this specifically relate to the right approach for public land?• What is the antidote to territorial hunters when you run into them?• What does Jared mean and refer to as “bear holes” vs. “rabbit holes” and why is this concept so important? • What was his 2 big “aha” moments in public land hunting that helped propel him to where he is today?Year Theme: To consistently take the top deer where you huntSeries: So there I was..Episode # 65Guest: Host Adam Lewis, Jared SchefflerIQ ranking - 5 (intermediate)Jared's Website & DVD's: https://whitetailadrenaline.com/ DEER IQ Services: • The NEW Deer IQ TEST & Consultation HERE: https://deeriq.com/full-assessment/ • For interest in our NEW Whitetail Workshop see HERE: https://deeriq.com/deeriq-whitetail-workshop/ • Other Services including our Coached Small Group, land and hunting plans for your private land, or a public land hunting analysis, visit HERE: https://deeriq.com/services/ More from DEER IQ: FOUNDATIONS Episode Mentioned: https://youtu.be/NBWdFHE92lg Website: https://deeriq.com Facebook Private Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/511109237864762 Deer IQ FREE Journal: https://deeriq.com/journal/ Pressured Public Lands Hunting Guide: https://deeriq.com/public-land-hunting-guide/ Newsletter Signup: https://deeriq.com/signup/ Patreon - Contribute Financially to Deer IQ: https://www.patreon.com/DeerIQPatreon Scent Control Regimen: https://deeriq.com/scentcontrol-regimen/

In this special episode of the Deer IQ podcast I’m going to be starting a story-based series called “So there I was - hunting stories of epic adventure.” This is where I will tell a story of a specific buck, and also break down how and why it worked out. I’ll be inserting these here and there throughout this year. I’ll also apply some of the principles we’ve been going over in the 6 steps or core competencies of highly effective hunters, and how those worked in this real world hunting situation. This hunt is about my 2016 Ohio 13 point, and the story is kind of wild and shows the interconnectedness of whitetail hunters - in both success and failure. And yes we have our free journal you can download below, that will really help you get the most out of this podcast. Ok so, here are the top things to look for during this episode.• What was so disappointing about my previous season, 2015, and what can we learn from that failure?• How did the “first sit rule” or strategic strike I talk about so much about, come into play with several bucks in this story?• How much time passed between getting high value intel about this particular buck, and me getting the shot?• What were key moments and decisions I made when it came to tracking and retrieving this buck that were pivotal in finding him?• What happened when 2 other hunters who pursued this deer for 3 years found out about his demise, and the big twist here - what well known person did this wind up being?Year Theme: To consistently take the top deer where you huntSeries: So there I was..Episode # 64Guest: Host Adam LewisIQ ranking - 5 (intermediate)DEER IQ Services: • The NEW Deer IQ TEST & Consultation HERE: https://deeriq.com/full-assessment/ • For interest in a Whitetail Workshop, our Coached Small Group, land and hunting plans for your private land, or a public land hunting analysis, visit HERE: https://deeriq.com/services/ More from DEER IQ: FOUNDATIONS Episode Mentioned: https://youtu.be/NBWdFHE92lg Website: https://deeriq.com Facebook Private Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/511109237864762 Deer IQ FREE Journal: https://deeriq.com/journal/ Pressured Public Lands Hunting Guide: https://deeriq.com/public-land-hunting-guide/ Newsletter Signup: https://deeriq.com/signup/ Patreon - Contribute Financially to Deer IQ: https://www.patreon.com/DeerIQPatreon Scent Control Regimen: https://deeriq.com/scentcontrol-regimen/

In this episode of the Deer IQ podcast we are in our series “summer prep for fall success,” as we continue to look at how to achieve our goal, or theme of this year “to consistently take the top deer where you hunt” and exact habits and systems needed to do that. And yes we have our free journal you can download below, that will really help you get the most out of this podcast. So, here are the top things to look for during this episode.• How and why I view collecting scouting intel like money.• What reverse surveillance is and how this strips trail cameras of any benefit.• How to use a cost-benefit analysis to drive scouting and hunting decisions• How I used this scouting model to get a few steps from a public land buck on the ground after gaining one bit of data on him, and exactly how that played out.• What I do out of state to get vital intel on very short trips..Year Theme: To consistently take the top deer where you huntSeries: Summer Prep for Fall SuccessEpisode # 63Guest: Host Adam Lewis, Mark KawieckiIQ ranking - 5 (intermediate)DEER IQ Services: • The NEW Deer IQ TEST & Consultation HERE: https://deeriq.com/full-assessment/ • For interest in a Whitetail Workshop, our Coached Small Group, land and hunting plans for your private land, or a public land hunting analysis, visit HERE: https://deeriq.com/services/ More from DEER IQ: FOUNDATIONS Episode Mentioned: https://youtu.be/NBWdFHE92lg Website: https://deeriq.com Facebook Private Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/511109237864762 Deer IQ FREE Journal: https://deeriq.com/journal/ Pressured Public Lands Hunting Guide: https://deeriq.com/public-land-hunting-guide/ Newsletter Signup: https://deeriq.com/signup/ Patreon - Contribute Financially to Deer IQ: https://www.patreon.com/DeerIQPatreon Scent Control Regimen: https://deeriq.com/scentcontrol-regimen/

In this episode of the Deer IQ podcast we are in our series “summer prep for fall success,” as we continue to look at how to achieve our goal, or theme of this year “to consistently take the top deer where you hunt” and exact habits and systems needed to do that. In this special episode of the Deer IQ podcast we discuss the recent Michigan regulations changes, and the DMI (Deer Management Initiative) teams & new process that helped make suggestions. I’m joined by 2 team members, and we get candid about what really happened and why, and how something with so much promise turned into what one member called a “train wreck.” So, here are the top things to look for during this episode.• Were the goals clearly communicated to the teams?• What was the criteria for reg suggestions supposed to be, and was that really followed?• What does one guest say was unethical in the UP DMI?• Did special interest groups influence the final regulations?• Did the DNR and NRC really take this process seriously?• Who ultimately failed, the DNR, NRC, or DMI teams?• What’s the solution moving forward for Michigan hunters and our deer herd? It's all in this episode of the Deer IQ podcast - listen, subscribe, share! In this episode of the Deer IQ podcast we will continue to look at how to achieve our goal, or theme of this year “to consistently take the top deer where you hunt” and exact habits and systems needed to do that - two of those being scent and sound control. I’m joined by my friend Mark for this conversation on a couple foundational systems to help with that task. Here are the top things to look for during this episode.• What is our defined difference between going with your gut vs. a strategic hunt, and why in my opinion does that matter so much if you want more consistent success?• What are the details of a scent control regimen that actually works, and what is the key way you have to implement it to be effective?• What did I learn about hunter sounds at the University of Toledo test facility, and how does this translate into a practical hunting application? It's all in this episode of the Deer IQ podcast - listen, subscribe, share! This episode is our final episode of year 1 where our overarching theme was - to be a greater deer hunter. If you haven’t listened to all our series, I invite you to take the next few weeks to do so - we started with Barriers we need to overcome, got in the mind of mature bucks, had a deep dive into public land hunting, dissected private land strategies, dove deep into the science of deer, looked at what stewardship really is, then ended with some major controversies. But over the course of the year I asked many of our guests this one overarching question - what exactly does it take to be a great deer hunter, and this week we look at what they said. You can look back at the full episodes with those guests, I’ll put those in the notes. And if you want to get more out of our podcast, download our free journal, thats really going to help. This episode bridges two of our series - controversies & solutions, and what it takes to be a great hunter. It does this because this episode includes both someone that many feel is one of the best whitetail hunters ever, with probably the biggest controversy ever - Mitch Rompola and his infamous 1998 buck. We cover what 3 people that knew him first hand say about that infamous deer, and also some strange hunting techniques he used. And yes, I (Adam) knocked on Mitch’s door in an attempt to get an interview, and will reveal what happened, and will finally answer one big question that’s been floating around for years. And, to be clear, I have utmost respect for all the guests on this episode and their takes on this topic. My "solutions" at the end are for people like me - the masses that never saw the buck, or knew Mitch. A special thanks to those guests and Dan Schmidt for letting me use the video clips. Here's what to look for: Guest 1 - John Ohmer (We are at a show for some of these, so excuse the background noise.)• What is the exact nature of John’s relationship to Mitch, and I think it’s important to understand relationships as we analyze some of our interviews and keep these in mind.• Why John says Mitch told him and some other people to stand down.• What does John say about seeing an infamous shed (which another guest comments on later)Guest 2: Richard P. Smith• What does Richard say about the missing 30 minute video of the recovery?• I will also include a clip of this which has circulated around a lot, and pay attention to Mitch’s reaction, and other various details of the video - like how the antlers and skull actually look, which is where a lot of controversy stems. Guest 3: John Eberhart (Courtesy of Deer and Deer Hunting Editor Dan Schmidt & including him in the video - see that full video here: https://youtu.be/zqafGQt1riI?si=xGjJWi9fqSl9ZmZm) • What is John Eberhart’s interpretation to the SAME shed John Ohmer saw at the same show?• What is his take on the idea that Mitch didn't want recognition?Adam Lewis:• what myth is busted when I knocked on Mitch's door?Year Theme: To Be a Greater HunterSeries: Hunting Controversies & SolutionsEpisode # 56Guests: Host Adam Lewis, Various GuestsIQ ranking - 5 (intermediate)DEER IQ Services:• Surgical Hunting Small Group - email Adam for interest [email protected] • if interested in a whitetail weekend workshop, strategic land and hunting plans for your private land, or a public land hunting analysis, visit here: https://forms.gle/peiUQPgUWDKkGG6g7MORE DEER IQ Stuff: Patreon - Contribute Financially to Deer IQ: https://www.patreon.com/DeerIQPatreon Get started - website overview HERE: https://deeriq.com/full-overview/Facebook Private Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/511109237864762Deer IQ FREE Journal: https://deeriq.com/journal/Deer IQ Test: https://deeriq.com/deeriqtest/Pressured Public Lands Hunting Guide: https://deeriq.com/public-land-hunting-guide/Curriculum: https://deeriq.com/curriculum/Newsletter Signup: https://deeriq.com/signup/

In this episode of the Deer IQ podcast we are in our series - hunting controversies and solutions. I am joined by Adam Miller - host of the Bowhunter Chronicles podcast as we co-air a discussion about the recent Michigan Deer Management Initiative Recommendations. How did those meetings with public input for new regulations actually go, and what will be the outcome for deer hunting in Michigan - we share our takes with some controversial regulations - like youth season restructuring, APR’s coming into play, possible earn a buck, and much more. Here's what to look for in this episode:• What is the hunting culture issue Adam speaks of in Michigan?• What seems to be a big fail in the DMI process according to us both?• Do youth seasons help or hurt with the Michigan buck-centric culture (meaning our obsession to shoot lots of bucks instead of does, which leads to an unhealthy and imbalanced deer herd).• And will baiting be reinstated - is that good or bad?And a whole lot more High IQ stuff in there!Year Theme: To Be a Greater HunterSeries: Hunting Controversies & SolutionsEpisode # 55Guests: Host Adam Lewis, Guest - Adam Miller (Instagram https://www.instagram.com/bowhunterchronicles_podcast/ Website: https://bowhunterchroniclespodcast.com/)IQ ranking - 5 (intermediate)DEER IQ Services:• Surgical Hunting Small Group - email Adam for interest [email protected] • if interested in a whitetail weekend workshop, strategic land and hunting plans for your private land, or a public land hunting analysis, visit here: https://forms.gle/peiUQPgUWDKkGG6g7MORE DEER IQ Stuff: Get started - website overview HERE: https://deeriq.com/full-overview/Facebook Private Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/511109237864762Deer IQ FREE Journal: https://deeriq.com/journal/Deer IQ Test: https://deeriq.com/deeriqtest/Pressured Public Lands Hunting Guide: https://deeriq.com/public-land-hunting-guide/Curriculum: https://deeriq.com/curriculum/Newsletter Signup: https://deeriq.com/signup/Patreon - Contribute Financially to Deer IQ: https://www.patreon.com/DeerIQPatreon

In this episode we’re in a new series - Hunting Controversies & Solutions. I was warned not to cover this topic, because it’s probably the most controversial and maybe divisive one in the deer hunting world - Chronic Wasting Disease, or CWD. But we’re going to look at because I think it’s important to know about & discuss. We’ll get an overview of what it is, how states have handled or mishandled it, and opinions on potential solutions from a DNR Biologist, 2 top scientists, and a very knowledgeable Deer Farmer. And, you’re going to want to write some of this overflowing wealth of wisdom down, and reflect on it after to get the most out of it. Our free journal is the best way to do that - download it below. Here are the top things to look for during this episode:• What do we know, and NOT know about CWD?• What has worked to combat it, and what has not?• How are state DNR agencies measuring the effectiveness of the actions taken to stop the spread?• 2 reasons why Dr. Bronson Strickland says it's so hard to combat.• What Dr. Karl Miller says is so "scary," and what he thinks the deer herd could look like in a few decades if CWD is not stopped. • What the Deer Professor and Deer Farmer (Conquest Scents) Doug Roberts says about the genetic solution, and how deer farms are getting the solution. And a whole lot more High IQ stuff in there!Year Theme: To Be a Greater HunterSeries: Hunting Controversies & SolutionsEpisode # 54Guest: Host Adam Lewis; Chad Stewart, Dr. Bronson Strickland, Dr. Karl Miller, IQ ranking - 5 (intermediate)DEER IQ Services:• Surgical Hunting Small Group - email Adam for interest [email protected] • if interested in a whitetail weekend workshop, strategic land and hunting plans for your private land, or a public land hunting analysis, visit here: https://forms.gle/peiUQPgUWDKkGG6g7MORE DEER IQ Stuff: Get started - website overview HERE: https://deeriq.com/full-overview/Facebook Private Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/511109237864762Deer IQ FREE Journal: https://deeriq.com/journal/Deer IQ Test: https://deeriq.com/deeriqtest/Pressured Public Lands Hunting Guide: https://deeriq.com/public-land-hunting-guide/Curriculum: https://deeriq.com/curriculum/Newsletter Signup: https://deeriq.com/signup/Patreon - Contribute Financially to Deer IQ: https://www.patreon.com/DeerIQPatreon

In this episode we’re in part 4 of our series - The Great Leverage of Hunters - Deer Science. What we actually know about deer, and how they operate, directly translates into our hunting decisions and success - which is why this is super important for us to know as much as possible about. In this episode we are joined again by Dr. Bronson Strickland of the MSU deer lab, looking at collared buck studies, and what they reveal about hunting pressure and how it actually affects deer movement. And, you’re going to want to write some of this overflowing wealth of wisdom down, and reflect on it after to get the most out of it. Our free journal is the best way to do that - download it below. Here are the top things to look for during this episode:• What do collared buck studies show about hunting pressure, and how quickly bucks will change behavior once we hunt them?• How do deer start moving once they feel hunting pressure, and where should we focus our efforts as the season goes by?• Is the October Lull a myth or fact according to the science?• And is there such a thing as a nocturnal buck - what is really going on there? And a whole lot more High IQ stuff in there!Year Theme: To Be a Greater HunterSeries: The Great Leverage - Deer ScienceEpisode # 53Guest: Host Adam Lewis; Dr. Bronson StricklandIQ ranking - 10 (advanced)DEER IQ Services (Signup for more information if interested in a whitetail weekend workshop, strategic land and hunting plans for your private land, or a public land hunting analysis): : https://forms.gle/peiUQPgUWDKkGG6g7MORE DEER IQ Stuff: Get started - website overview HERE: https://deeriq.com/full-overview/Facebook Private Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/511109237864762Deer IQ FREE Journal: https://deeriq.com/journal/Deer IQ Test: https://deeriq.com/deeriqtest/Pressured Public Lands Hunting Guide: https://deeriq.com/public-land-hunting-guide/Curriculum: https://deeriq.com/curriculum/Newsletter Signup: https://deeriq.com/signup/Patreon - Contribute Financially to Deer IQ: https://www.patreon.com/DeerIQPatreon

In this episode we continue our series on the science of whitetail deer, and how knowing that is our greatest leverage, our greatest potential to become better hunters. In part two we are joined again by the well-known research scientist Dr. Karl Miller of the University of Georgia Deer Lab. He has done incredible research over the years on deer and made some impactful discoveries. We’re going to talk about deer hearing and sense of smell, and how this knowledge should impact our hunting. There are a lot of myths out there, so see how this science stacks against your preconceived ideas. This is a very High IQ episode. And, you’re going to want to write some of this overflowing wealth of wisdom down, and reflect on it after to get the most out of it. Our free journal is the best way to do that - download it below HERE.• Regarding how deer actually perceive smells - what are the quantitative and qualitative differences compared to us humans? Quantitative refers to amounts or quantities, qualitative aren’t measurable with numbers, but are qualities they hold.• Can you cover up your scent, as popular with many hunters and products of “cover scent”• Can you actually eliminate enough of your scent to make a difference in the woods with scent control?• How good is deer hearing really, and what does that mean for us hunters and how we treat noises we make?Year Theme: To Be a Greater HunterSeries: The Great Leverage - Deer ScienceEpisode # 51Guest: Host Adam Lewis; Dr. Karl Miller IQ ranking - 10 (advanced)DEER IQ Services (Signup for more information if interested in a whitetail weekend workshop, strategic land and hunting plans for your private land, or a public land hunting analysis): : https://forms.gle/peiUQPgUWDKkGG6g7MORE DEER IQ Stuff: Contact me for scent control regimen: [email protected] Get started - website overview HERE: https://deeriq.com/full-overview/Facebook Private Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/511109237864762Deer IQ FREE Journal: https://deeriq.com/journal/Deer IQ Test: https://deeriq.com/deeriqtest/Pressured Public Lands Hunting Guide: https://deeriq.com/public-land-hunting-guide/Curriculum: https://deeriq.com/curriculum/Newsletter Signup: https://deeriq.com/signup/Patreon - Contribute Financially to Deer IQ: https://www.patreon.com/DeerIQPatreon
